Introduction Bluefire Reader
Of All of the ways of monetizing Articles, my favorite method is To make and sell digital products like studying layout templates and materials. I have discovered that it is extraordinarily rewarding than running ads from networks like AdSense, and self-made products convert at a much greater rate than an affiliate product that someone else created. The service I use to facilitate this can be Payhip, and this post I will be sharing what I like and dislike about the service based in my Payhip experience for a seller for 2+ years. Bluefire Reader
My Payhip Experience
If you’ve ever wanted to market digital products Through your own site, you’ll need a way to facilitate trades — some kind of infrastructure that will allow a client to select your goods, cover it, and also have it instantaneously delivered to them with whole hands-off automation. Payhip solves this issue.
Payhip is An that provides users with the tools and options for promoting electronic products to their customers and hosting online.
The Provider Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is now based in my capital city of London.
Which are the advantages of utilizing Payhip?
Each online Platform differs, and I have used a couple of these previously.
Having A stage that is really easy to use and one that doesn’t require a massive amount of my time is of utmost importance.
Payhip will Save you a great deal of time because everything is taken care of on the Payhip platform.
The Benefits that I’ve gained the most from using Payhip include –
- EU VAT is cared for, and it can be a big plus in my book.

What I Enjoy About Payhip
Let’s get to the details. Following my 2 year Payhip expertise, here’s what I really like about the service…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let us your customers pay with PayPal Or by credit/debit card with Stripe, and they do not cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or force you to wait for them to clean some sort of holding period. When a client makes a purchase, the cash is immediately available in your account, and in case you have the PayPal and Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you’ll receive notifications whenever a sale happens. Bluefire Reader
I happen to appreciate this. The excitement of Seeing a sale that is new never gets older. In addition, it is good to awake in the morning, reach to your telephone, and see that you made X number of dollars while you were sleeping, and it’s all easily available for you to spend. The only caveat to this is Stripe. If your clients pays by card using Stripe, there’ll be a three day hold until the cash is available. This is all Stripe though — Payhip does not hold your cash in any way.
No Monthly Fees
Among those things that Payhip initially sold me on is that there’s no Monthly charges or setup charges — only a simple flat charge of 5% per sale.
This was appealing to me Because, at the time, my readership was less than 1/10th of what it is now, and I was not positive I was going to consistently sell enough product to justify paying a monthly fee to get a similar service such as Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger having a little audience, Payhip was the quickest solution that best match my scenario.
Simple To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an page That enables you to view trades and earnings amounts relative to the day, week, month, year, or any other specified selection. Best of all, it’s a to-the-point and very simple report.
If you have used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of information you are immediately smacked in the face with can be a bit overwhelming, and lots of it’s mostly useless too. Payhip just gives you exactly what you are there to view — revenue information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip experience is By creating coupon codes promotions to run.
The codes may be for almost any percentage you would Enjoy and for any (or all) products. They can run for any duration you want (or even permanently,) along with the code itself can even be customized to whatever string of text you desire.
I have found this to be helpful. Occasionally I’ll run a weekend marketing, place it on Facebook boost the post targeting a pixel re-marketing audience and I never fail to go ROI positive with it. People do respond well to limited time offers. Bluefire Reader
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip gives you the capability to let your Readers sign up as an affiliate of your shop, and you are able to grant, if someone purchases a product using their custom affiliate link.
This is useful since it allows people To market your products the commissions paid will be worth it, and if they have a platform and an audience of their own that they can tap to.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
If you’re into email advertising, you will be Able to integrate Payhip along with your email advertising supplier that is chosen so that a purchase is made, the email address of the purchaser can be added into a list.
That is relatively minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I want to give it a mention — if you so desire, you’ll have Payhip stamp the purchaser’s email address into the upper left corner of each page of a PDF document they have bought.
So if someone intends to buy your PDF Book make it accessible for free somewhere else, they will have to be okay with their private email address being available also. I believe that’s a really creative means of deterring pirating.
Upload Most Sorts of Files
Payhip is a market for ebooks — You can upload any kind of file. Font documents, video/audio documents, photographs, software, etc..
Overall Simplicity and Modern Design
1 thing that can not be overlooked whenever You’re selling something is the way current your site appears. People generally don’t trust websites which appear obsolete, myself included. If a site looks like it hasn’t been updated since the net 2.0 times, then I begin to wonder if maybe I’m in an abandoned construction and putting my payment information into it would pretty much be like throwing my money into a black hole.
That is not the case with Payhip though. The Site has a design that is very modern and easy. This is exactly what you’d anticipate a checkout page by a company to look like if you were to buy a digital product on the world wide web. Bluefire Reader
Another thing that I like about Payhip is its own In general simplicity. In the a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip remains out of the way. They display your graphics, sales copy, and just the critical information (such as price.) They do nothing to interfere with your sale — no self-promotion whatsoever.
Eventually, what I really like about Payhip is That customer payment information isn’t stored by them, meaning that your customers’ payment details are safe. The payment is handled through Stripe or PayPal, and I prefer it this way as they are successful companies with a lot of money to spend on security.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I like Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some items that I dislike about the service and would like to see enhanced…
No Mobile App
One thing that bugs me about Payhip is that They do not have a mobile app. It would be convenient to have the ability to open an app and have a look during my sales data while I am out and around. You may log in to the site and do so, but the site isn’t even optimized for mobile devices.
I enjoy Payhip, but that is a really Lousy appearance in 2018. There is no reason you shouldn’t have a site optimized for cellular, and once you have that, you should be able to easily turn the site itself into it’s own app so users don’t need to manually register in each time they want to check sales information. Permit users of Payhip experience a platform when they’re on their mobile devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d like to see an ability to indicate Other products. If they’re purchasing a package of logo templates for $5, I suggest, or could provide a package of business card templates for a few extra bucks. This is something that sites like VistaPrint and Amazon do.
I can not help but feel like there is a lot of money being left on the Table — for both myself and Payhip — with no operation. This may enhance the Payhip experience for both the customer and the seller.
Set On A Fixed Timezone
This one is frivolous, but I Like to see it corrected.
Considering that Payhip is located at London, they’ve BST was place to by the timezone for the website. Since I am located in the EST, I will sometimes check my stats at 7PM or later and see that I left 0 sales for the day since Payhip believes it is midnight and its data reveals that.
This is a non-issue, however I Would like to observe that the ability to adjust the website to your timezone. Bluefire Reader
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the voucher Code feature but it’s not quite perfect yet.
As it now stands, the only advertising You can run via a voucher code. Ideally, I’d love to be able to supply a dollar amount from the initial cost, or the ability to set a sale price that is predetermined.
Right Now, if I want to put a merchandise Available for $10, do the math to determine what percent off would render the price at $10 and I must break out the calculator. I think this is unnecessary and could be improved.
When creating A new product in Payhip, you also have access to advanced options including —
- Make your merchandise private.
- Insert an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) to your eBook.
- Publish sample pages or a couple of preview.
- Insert a limit number sold.
- Create a license key that is exceptional for all your product/eBook revenue.
Just how much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you nothing or host your electronic products. The site takes just 5% commission per transaction fee.
Can I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after two years as a vendor on Payhip, would you recommend it? Overall, yes. I am very much a happy client, but whether or not you ought to use it depends on your own situation.
If you are a new blogger with a small audience And you can’t justify spending $10+ a month to get something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. If you know you’ll do at least $ 1,000 in sales every month and market a high-ticket merchandise or have a huge audience, you may want to look into something most cost-efficient.
As of the date of the writing, Payhip works On a flat fee of 5% of each sale. Gumroad’s fee is currently 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 a month.
If you’re going to be promoting $1,000 a month in total volume, the math should (typically ) favor Payhip. But if you are selling well into the thousands, you are probably going to need to decide on Gumroad or look into some alternative. That is largely dependent on how many transactions it requires to reach those sales numbers so make certain that you crunch the numbers.
Personally, I love the Payhip Expertise and am very thankful for their solutions. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. Bluefire Reader
