Of All of the ways of Creating blog Articles, my favorite Strategy is Such as studying materials and layout templates to make and sell products. I have found that it is extraordinarily more rewarding than running ads and self-made products convert at a significantly greater speed compared to an affiliate product that someone else created. The service I use to facilitate this can be Payhip, and in this article I will be discussing what I both like and dislike about the service based on my Payhip experience for a seller for 2+ years. My Payhip Experience
If you’ve ever wanted to sell digital products Through your own website, you are going to need a means to facilitate transactions — some sort of infrastructure which will enable a customer to select your product, cover it, and have it instantaneously delivered to them with complete hands-off automation. Payhip solves this problem.
Payhip is An e-commerce platform/website that gives users with the tools and options for hosting and promoting products to their clients online.
The company Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is currently based in my capital city of London.
What are the benefits of using Payhip?
Each online Platform differs, and I’ve used a few of them previously.
For me, having A platform that is so easy to use and one that does not take a huge amount of my valuable time is of utmost importance.
Payhip will Save a great deal of time because everything is taken care of on the Payhip platform.
The Advantages that I’ve gained the most from utilizing Payhip comprise –
- EU VAT is taken care of, and it can be a huge plus in my book.
- Affordable. The website takes zero fees asides From 5 percent per transaction when you sell a product that is digital.
- Access to analytics reports.

What I Enjoy About Payhip
Let’s get to the information. Following my 2 year Payhip expertise, here’s what I really like about the ceremony…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let us your customers pay with PayPal Or from credit/debit card with Stripe, and they do not cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait for them to clean some sort of holding period. When a client makes a purchase, the money is instantly available in your account, and in case you’ve got the PayPal and Stripe apps installed on your mobile device, you are going to receive notifications whenever a sale occurs. I happen to love this. The excitement of Seeing a sale never gets old. It’s also good to awake in the morning, reach to your phone, and see that you made X amount of dollars while you were sleeping, and it’s all easily available for you to spend. The caveat to this can be Stripe. If your clients pays by card with Stripe, there will be a three day hold until the money is available. This is all Stripe however — Payhip does not hold your money in any way.
No Monthly Charges
Among the things that Payhip originally sold me on is that there’s no Monthly fees or installation charges — just a simple flat charge of 5% per sale.
This was appealing to me back in 2016 Because, at the moment, my readership was less than 1/10th of what it’s now, and I wasn’t positive I was likely to consistently sell enough product to justify paying a monthly fee to get a similar service such as Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger with a little crowd, Payhip was the no-risk solution that best fit my scenario.
Simple To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an analytics page That lets you see transactions and earnings quantities relative to this day, week, month, year, or any other given range. Best of all, it’s a report.
If you’ve used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the number of data you’re immediately smacked in the face can be somewhat overwhelming, and lots of it is largely useless too. Payhip just gives you exactly what you’re there to view — sales information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip encounter is By creating coupon codes, promotions to run.
The codes can be Like and for any (or all) products. They can run for whatever duration you want (or even indefinitely,) and the code itself may even be customized to whatever series of text you desire.
I have found this to be useful. Occasionally I will run a weekend promotion, place it on Facebook boost the post targeting a pixel audience and I never fail to go ROI positive by it. People really do respond to limited time offers. Bookscouter
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip gives you the ability Readers register as an affiliate of your shop, and you are able to award them a commission of whatever percent you would like someone buys a product with their customized affiliate link.
This is useful because it allows Men and Women To sell your merchandise for you, and if they have a stage and an audience of their own they can tap to, the commissions paid will be well worth it.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You’ll be, if you’re into email marketing Able to integrate Payhip along with your preferred email marketing provider so that whenever a purchase is made, the buyer’s email address can be added to a listing that is selected.
That is relatively minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I wish to give it a reference — if you desire, you can have Payhip stamp the purchaser’s email address into the top left corner of each page of a PDF document they have purchased.
So if someone plans to buy your PDF Book then make it accessible for free they will need to be fine with their personal email address being publicly available as well. I think that is a means of deterring pirating.
Upload Most Kinds of Files
Payhip is a marketplace for ebooks — You can upload any kind of file. Font documents, video/audio files, photos, software, etc..
Overall Simplicity and Modern Design
One thing that can not be overlooked whenever You’re selling something is your site looks. People generally do not trust myself included. If a site looks like it has not been updated because the net 2.0 days, I begin to wonder if perhaps I’m in an abandoned construction and placing my payment information to it’d pretty much be just like throwing my money into a black hole.
That is not true with Payhip though. The Site has a design. If you were to purchase a digital merchandise this is exactly what you would expect a checkout page by a business. Bookscouter
Another thing that I like about Payhip is its In general simplicity. In the very moment a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip remains out of the way. They display your graphics, sales copy, and only the critical information (such as price.) They do absolutely nothing to interfere with your purchase — no self-promotion whatsoever.
Finally, what I actually enjoy about Payhip is That they do not store customer payment info, meaning your customers’ payment details are safe. The payment is totally handled through PayPal or Stripe, and I prefer it that way because they’re large companies with a lot of money.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I like Payhip, it is far from perfect. Here are some items that I dislike about the service and would like to see improved…
No Mobile App
1 thing that bugs me around Payhip is that They do not possess a mobile app. It would be convenient to have the ability to open an app while I am out and around, and have a look. The site isn’t even optimized for mobile devices, although you do this and can log in to the website.
I enjoy Payhip, but that is a very Bad appearance in 2018. There is no reason you shouldn’t have a site optimized for cellular, and when you have that, you should be able to easily turn the website itself right into it’s own program so users don’t need to manually register in each time they would like to inspect sales data. Users of Payhip encounter a better platform when they are on their mobile devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons At Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d like to see an ability that is Extra to suggest Other products similar to what the client is going to purchase. If they’re buying a package of logo templates for $5, I suggest, or could offer a package of business card templates for a couple of dollars. This is something which websites like Amazon and VistaPrint do well.
I can not help but feel like there is a lot of money being left on the Table — for myself and Payhip — without this operation. This may improve the Payhip encounter for both the customer and the vendor.
Set On A Fixed Timezone
This one is frivolous, but I Like to see it fixed.
Since Payhip is located at London, they’ve BST was set to by The functioning timezone for the site. Since I am located in the EST, I will sometimes check my analytics at 7PM or afterwards and see that I left 0 sales for the day because Payhip thinks it’s midnight and its own information reflects that.
This is a non-issue, but I Would like to observe that the ability to adjust the site to your timezone. Bookscouter
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the coupon It’s not perfect yet, although Code attribute earlier.
As it now stands, the only advertising You can run through a coupon code. Ideally, I’d love to be able to offer a dollar amount off the price, or the ability to set a sale price.
At the moment, if I Need to put a product that is $27 On sale for $10, do the math to figure out what percentage off will render the last price and I have to break out the calculator. I believe this is unnecessary and may be improved.
When creating A brand new product in Payhip, you have access to advanced alternatives which include —
- Make your merchandise private.
- Insert an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) to your eBook.
- Upload sample pages or a preview.
- Add a limitation number sold.
- Create a license key for each of your product/eBook revenue.
Just how much does this cost?
Payhip will Cost you nothing to establish or even host your digital products. The site takes just 5 percent commission per trade fee.
Can I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after two + years as a vendor on Payhip, do you recommend it? Overall, yes. I am a customer, but whether you should use it depends on your situation.
If you’re a blogger with a small audience And you can not justify spending $10+ a month for something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. If you market a merchandise that is high-ticket or have a massive audience and know that you’ll do at least $ 1,000 in sales each month, you might want to look into something.
As of the date of the writing, Payhip works On a flat fee of 5 percent of every sale. Gumroad’s fee is currently 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 per month.
If you’re going to be promoting less than $1,000 a month in total volume, the math should (in most cases) prefer Payhip. But if you are selling into the thousands, you’ll probably want to decide on Gumroad or look into some alternative. This is largely dependent on how many transactions it requires to reach those sales numbers though, so make certain to crunch the numbers.
Personally, I love the Payhip Experience and am really thankful for their services. I would like to see them continue to grow and succeed. Bookscouter
