Of All of the ways of monetizing blog content, my method is Like learning design templates and materials, to make and sell electronic products. I’ve found that it is extraordinarily more profitable than running advertisements and self-made products convert at a significantly higher speed compared to an affiliate product that someone else created. The service I use to ease this can be Payhip, and in this post I will be sharing what I both like and dislike about the ceremony based on my Payhip experience for a vendor for 2+ years. Bookviser
My Payhip Experience
If you’ve ever wanted to sell products Through your own site, you are going to need a means to facilitate trades — some sort of infrastructure that will allow a client to select your goods, pay for it, and also have it immediately delivered to them with complete hands-off automation. Payhip solves this issue.
Payhip is An that provides users with options and the tools for hosting and promoting digital products to their clients online.
The company Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is currently based in my capital city of London.
Which are the benefits of using Payhip?
Each online Platform is different, and I have used a few of these in the past.
Having A stage that is really simple to use and one that does not take a huge amount of my time that is valuable is of paramount significance.

What I Enjoy About Payhip
Let’s get to the information. Following my 2+ year Payhip expertise, Here Is What I really like about the service…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let us your customers pay with PayPal Or by credit/debit card using Stripe, and they do not cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait for them to clear some kind of holding period. When a client makes a purchase, the money is instantly available on your accounts, and in case you have the PayPal and Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you are going to get notifications each time a sale happens. I happen to appreciate this. The excitement of Seeing a new sale never gets old. It’s also great to awake in the morning, reach for your telephone, and see that you made X amount of dollars while you’re sleeping, and it is all easily available for you to spend. The only caveat to this can be Stripe. If your customers card using Stripe, there will be a 3 day hold before the cash is available. This is Stripe however — Payhip does not hold your money in any way.
No Monthly Charges
One of the things that Payhip initially sold me on is that there is no Monthly fees or setup charges — just a simple flat charge of 5% per purchase .
This was appealing to me in 2016 Because, at the time, my readership was 1/10th of what it is now, and I wasn’t positive that I was going to consistently sell enough product to justify paying a monthly fee to get a similar service such as Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger with a little crowd, Payhip was the no-risk solution that best fit my situation.
Easy To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end offers an analytics page That lets you see transactions and earnings quantities relative to this day, week, month, year, or any other given selection. Best of all, it is a report.
If you have used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of information you are instantly smacked in the face with can be somewhat overwhelming, and lots of it is mostly useless also. Payhip just gives you exactly what you are there to view — revenue information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip encounter is By producing coupon codes, promotions to conduct.
The codes can be for almost any percentage you would Enjoy and for any (or all) products. They could run for whatever length you want (or even permanently,) along with the code itself can even be customized to whatever string of text you would like.
I’ve found this to be somewhat helpful. Sometimes I’ll conduct a weekend marketing, place it on Facebook, then boost the article targeting a pixel audience that is re-marketing and I don’t fail to go ROI positive by it. People truly do respond well to limited time offers. Bookviser
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip gives you the capability to let your Readers register as an affiliate of your shop, and you can grant them a commission of whatever percent you would like, if someone purchases a product using their customized affiliate link.
This is useful because it allows other people To market your products for you, and if they have a stage and an audience of their own they can tap into, the commissions paid will be worth it.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You’ll be if you are into marketing Able to easily incorporate Payhip with your email marketing supplier that is chosen so that whenever a purchase is made, the email address of the purchaser can be added into a chosen list.
This is relatively small but I think it’s Pretty cool so I wish to give it a reference — if you desire, you’ll have Payhip postage the buyer’s email address into the upper left corner of each page of a PDF document they’ve purchased.
So if someone intends to buy your PDF Book subsequently make it publicly accessible for free somewhere else, they’ll need to be okay with their email address being available also. I think that’s a way of deterring pirating.
Upload Many Sorts of Files
Payhip is a market for ebooks — It’s possible to upload just about any sort of file. Font files, video/audio documents, photos, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
1 thing that can not be overlooked whenever You’re selling something is the way present your site appears. Individuals don’t trust websites which appear outdated, myself included. If a website looks like it hasn’t been updated since the net 2.0 days, I begin to wonder if maybe I’m in an abandoned building and putting my payment info into it would pretty much be like throwing my money into a black hole.
That’s not true with Payhip though. The Site has a design that is easy and very modern. In the event that you should purchase a product this is what you’d anticipate a checkout page by a business. Bookviser
Another thing I enjoy about Payhip is its Overall simplicity. From the a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip stays out of the way. They display your graphics, sales copy, and just the critical info (such as price.) They do absolutely nothing to interfere with your sale — no self-promotion whatsoever.
Finally, what I really like about Payhip is That customer payment info isn’t stored by them, meaning your customers’ payment details are secure. The payment is totally handled through Stripe or PayPal, and I prefer it that way as they’re successful companies with a lot of money to invest on security.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I enjoy Payhip, it is far from perfect. Here are some items that I dislike about the ceremony and would like to see improved…
No Mobile App
1 thing that bugs me about Payhip is that They don’t possess a program. It’d be convenient to be able to start an app while I’m out and about, and have a look during my earnings data. You may log in to the website and do this, but the site isn’t optimized for mobile devices.
I enjoy Payhip, but that is a really Bad appearance in 2018. There’s no reason you shouldn’t have a site optimized for cellular, and once you have that, you should be able to easily turn the website itself into it’s own program so users don’t have to manually sign in each time they want to check sales data. Let users of Payhip encounter a better platform when they are on their devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d like to see an added capability to suggest Other products. If they are purchasing a package of templates for $5, I could provide a bundle of business card templates for a couple of added bucks, or propose some other similar product that may interest them they previously didn’t know about. This is something that sites like Amazon and VistaPrint do.
I can’t help but feel as though there’s a Great Deal of money being left on the Table — for both myself and Payhip — with no functionality. This could enhance the Payhip encounter for both the customer and the vendor.
Set On A Fixed Timezone
This one is mostly frivolous, but I had still Like to see it fixed.
Since Payhip is located at London, they’ve The functioning timezone for the website place to BST. Since I’m found in the EST, I will occasionally check my analytics at 7PM or later and see that I made 0 earnings for the day since Payhip believes it is midnight and its information reflects that.
Again, this is largely a non-issue, however I Would love to see that the capability to adjust the website. Bookviser
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the coupon It’s not perfect, although Code attribute earlier.
As it currently stands, the advertising You’re able to run through a voucher code. Ideally, I’d love to have the ability to offer a dollar amount to set a sale price that is predetermined.
Right Now, if I want to place a product Available for $10, manually do the math to figure out what percentage off will leave the last cost and I must break out the calculator. I think this is unnecessary and may be improved.
When creating A new product in Payhip, you have access to innovative alternatives including —
- Make your product private.
- Insert an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) for your eBook.
- Publish sample pages or a few preview.
- To how many copies of market or your product could be Insert a limit amount sold.
- Create a unique license key for each of your product/eBook revenue.
How much does this cost?
Payhip will Cost you or host your electronic products. The site takes just 5 percent commission per transaction fee.
Can I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after two + years as a seller on Payhip, do you recommend it? Total, yes. I am a customer, but whether or not you ought to use it depends on your own situation.
If you are a new blogger with a small audience And you can not justify spending $10+ a month to get something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. But if you know that you’ll be doing at least $ 1,000 in sales each month and sell a product that is high-ticket or have a huge audience, you might want to look into something most cost effective.
As of this date of this writing, Payhip works On a set fee of 5% of every sale. Gumroad’s fee is currently 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 per month.
If you’re going to be selling less than $1,000 a month in total quantity, the math should (typically ) prefer Payhip. But if you are selling into the thousands, you are probably going to need to decide on Gumroad or start looking into some other choice. This is largely dependent on the number of transactions it takes to reach those sales numbers, however, so be sure to crunch the numbers for yourself.
Personally, I love the Payhip Experience and am grateful for their services. I would like to see them continue to grow and succeed. Bookviser
