Intro Digital Self Example
Of all the ways of Creating Articles that is blog, my Strategy is To create and sell products such as learning design templates and materials. I have found that it’s extraordinarily rewarding than running ads from networks like AdSense, and self explanatory products convert at a much greater speed than an affiliate product that somebody else created. The support I use to facilitate this is Payhip, and this post I’ll be discussing what I both like and dislike about the service based in my Payhip experience as a vendor for 2+ years. My Payhip Expertise
If you’ve ever wanted to market digital products Through your own site, you are going to need a way to facilitate trades — some sort of infrastructure that will allow a client to select your goods, pay for it, and have it immediately delivered to them with whole hands-off automation. Payhip solves this problem.
Payhip is An that gives customers with solutions and the tools for promoting products straight to their clients and hosting online.
The company Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is currently based in my capital city of London.
What are the advantages of using Payhip?
Each online Platform is different, and I have used a couple of these in the past.
Having A platform that is so easy to use and one that doesn’t require a massive amount of my time that is precious is of paramount significance.
Payhip will Save you a lot of time because everything is cared for on the Payhip platform.
The Advantages that I’ve gained the most from using Payhip comprise –
- EU VAT is cared for, and it is a huge plus in my book.

What I Like About Payhip
Let us get to the information. After my two year Payhip expertise, here’s what I love about the ceremony…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let us your customers pay with PayPal Or from credit/debit card with Stripe, and they do not cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait for them to clear some sort of holding period. When a client makes a purchase, the money is instantly available in your account, and if you have the PayPal and also Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you’ll get notifications whenever a sale occurs. Digital Self Example
I happen to appreciate this. The excitement of Seeing a sale never gets older. It’s also great to wake up in the morning, reach to your phone, and also see that you made X amount of dollars while you’re sleeping, and it’s all easily available for you to spend. The caveat to this can be Stripe. If your clients card with Stripe, there’ll be a 3 day hold until the money is available. This is Stripe though — Payhip doesn’t hold your cash in any way.
No Monthly Fees
One of those things that Payhip originally sold me is that there’s no Monthly fees or setup charges — just a simple flat charge of 5 percent per sale.
This was appealing to me back Since, at the time, my readership was 1/10th of what it is now, and I wasn’t positive I was going to always sell enough product to warrant paying a monthly fee for a similar service like Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger having a little audience, Payhip was the quickest solution that best fit my scenario.
Easy To Understand Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an analytics page That enables you to view trades and earnings quantities relative to the day, week, month, year, or any other specified selection. On top of that, it’s a report.
If you used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of data you’re instantly smacked in the face with can be a bit overwhelming, and a lot of it’s mostly useless also. Payhip just gives you what you’re there to see — sales information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip encounter is The capacity to run promotions by producing coupon codes.
The codes can be Like and for any (or all) products. They can run for whatever length you want (or even permanently,) and the code itself can even be customized to whatever string of text you desire.
I have found this to be useful. Sometimes I will run a weekend marketing, place it on Facebook boost the post targeting a pixel audience that is re-marketing and I never fail to go ROI positive with it. People do respond to limited time offers. Digital Self Example
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip gives you the capability Readers sign up as an affiliate of your store, and you are able to grant, whenever someone buys a product using their customized affiliate link.
This is useful because it allows other people To market your products for you, the commissions paid will be well worth it, and if they have a platform and an audience of their own that they can tap to.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
If you’re into marketing, you will be Able to readily incorporate Payhip along with your chosen email advertising supplier so that if a purchase is made, the purchaser’s email address could be added to a selected list.
This is small but I think it’s Pretty cool so I want to give it a reference — if you so desire, you’ll have Payhip stamp the purchaser’s email address into the upper left corner of each page of a PDF document they’ve bought.
So if someone intends to buy your PDF Book subsequently make it available for free they will need to be okay with their personal email address being available also. I think that is a really creative way of deterring pirating.
Upload Many Sorts of Files
Payhip is a marketplace for ebooks — You can upload any kind of file. Font documents, video/audio files, photographs, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
1 thing that can’t be overlooked whenever You are selling something is your website looks. People do not trust websites which look obsolete, myself included. If a site looks like it hasn’t been updated because the web 2.0 times, then I begin to wonder if maybe I’m in an abandoned construction and putting my payment info into it’d pretty much be like throwing my money into a black hole.
That is not the case with Payhip though. The Website has a layout that is simple and very contemporary. This is exactly what you would expect a checkout page by a company to appear like, if you were to buy a digital merchandise on the internet. Digital Self Example
Another thing that I like about Payhip is its own In general simplicity. From the a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip remains out of the way. They display your images, sales copy, and only the crucial info (like price.) They do nothing to interfere with your purchase — no.
Finally, what I like about Payhip is That they don’t store customer payment information, meaning your customers’ payment details are secure. The payment is managed through Stripe or PayPal, and I prefer it that way because they’re large, successful companies with lots of cash.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I like Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some things that I dislike about the ceremony and would like to see improved…
No Mobile App
One thing that bugs me about Payhip is that They do not have a mobile program. It would be convenient to be able to open an app and take a look during my data while I am out and around. You may log in to the website and do this, but the site isn’t optimized for mobile devices.
I like Payhip, but that is a very Lousy look in 2018. There is no reason you should not have a website optimized for cellular, and once you’ve got that, you ought to be able to easily turn the site itself into it’s own app so users don’t have to manually sign in each time they would like to check sales information. Permit users of Payhip encounter a platform when they are on their mobile devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I would really like to see an capability to indicate Other products. If they’re buying a bundle of templates for $5, I could provide a bundle of business card templates or suggest some other similar product that could interest them that they previously didn’t know about. This is something which websites like Amazon and VistaPrint do quite well.
I can’t help but feel as though there is a lot of money Table — for both myself and Payhip — with no functionality. This could enhance the Payhip experience for both the seller and the client.
Establish On A Fixed Timezone
This one is frivolous, but I’d still Like to see it corrected.
Considering that Payhip is located at London, they’ve The working timezone for the entire site place to BST. Since I am found in the EST, I will occasionally check my analytics at 7PM or afterwards and see that I made 0 sales for the day since Payhip thinks it is midnight and its data reveals that.
This is a non-issue, but I Would like to observe that the capability to adjust the website to your own timezone. Digital Self Example
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the coupon Code feature earlier, but it is not perfect yet.
As it stands, the promotion You can run via a voucher code is for a percentage off. I’d love to have the ability to supply a dollar amount from the cost, or the ability to set a specified sale price.
At the moment, if I want to place a product Available for $10, I must break out the calculator and do the math to determine what percentage off will leave the final price. I believe that is unnecessary and may be improved.
When creating A brand new product in Payhip, you also have access to innovative alternatives which include —
- Make your product private.
- Insert an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) for your eBook.
- Upload sample pages or a couple of preview.
- Insert a limit amount to how many copies of market or your product can be sold.
- Generate a license key that is exceptional .
How much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you nothing to set up or host your products. The website takes just 5% commission per trade fee.
Can I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after two + years as a seller on Payhip, would you recommend it? Overall, yes. I am a happy customer, but whether you should use it depends on your own situation.
If you are a new blogger with a small audience And you can not justify spending $10+ per month to get something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would absolutely recommend Payhip. If you have a huge audience or sell a merchandise and know you’ll do at least $1,000 in sales each month, you may want to look into something most cost effective.
As of this date of the writing, Payhip functions On a flat fee of 5 percent of each sale. Gumroad’s fee is now 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 a month.
If you are going to be selling less than $1,000 a month in total quantity, the math should (typically ) prefer Payhip. But if you’re selling well into the thousands, you are probably going to need to decide on Gumroad or start looking into some alternative. That is largely dependent on the number of transactions it takes to reach those sales numbers so make sure to crunch the numbers.
Personally, I love the Payhip Expertise and am thankful for their services. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. Digital Self Example
