Introduction Digital Self Serve B2C
Of All of the ways of monetizing content, my favorite Strategy is Such as studying layout templates and materials to make and sell electronic products. I’ve found that it is extraordinarily rewarding than running advertisements from networks like AdSense, and products convert at a higher rate compared to an affiliate product that somebody else created. The service I use to facilitate this is Payhip, and this post I’ll be sharing what I both like and dislike about the service based on my Payhip experience as a seller for two + years. My Payhip Experience
If you have ever wanted to market products Through your own site, you’ll want a way to facilitate transactions — some sort of infrastructure which will enable a client to select your product, cover it, and also have it immediately delivered to them with complete hands-off automation. Payhip solves this issue.
What is Payhip?
Payhip is An that gives users with options and the simplest tools for promoting products directly to their clients and hosting online.
The company Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is now based in my capital city of London.
Which are the benefits of utilizing Payhip?
Each online Platform differs, and I have used a couple of them in the past.
Having A platform that is really simple to use and one that does not require a huge amount of my precious time is of paramount significance.
Payhip will Save a lot of time too because everything is cared for on the Payhip platform.
The Advantages that I’ve gained the most from utilizing Payhip include –
- EU VAT is cared for, and it is a big plus in my book.
- Affordable. The website takes zero charges asides From 5 percent per trade when you sell a item that is digital.
- Access to analytics accounts.

What I Like About Payhip
Let us get to the information. After my 2 year Payhip experience, Here Is What I love about the service…
Upgrades Are Instantaneous
Payhip let us your customers pay with PayPal Or from credit/debit card using Stripe, and they don’t cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait around for them to clear some sort of holding period. When a customer makes a purchase, the cash is immediately available on your account, and in case you have the PayPal and Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you are going to get notifications whenever a sale happens. I happen to love this. The excitement of Seeing a new sale never gets old. In addition, it is great to wake up in the morning, reach to your phone, and see that you made X number of dollars while you were sleeping, and it is all readily available for you to spend. The only caveat to this is Stripe. If your clients pays by card with Stripe, there’ll be a 3 day hold before the money is available. This is Stripe though — Payhip doesn’t hold your money at all.
No Monthly Charges
Among the things that Payhip initially sold me on is that there is no Monthly charges or setup charges — just a simple flat fee of 5 percent per purchase .
This was appealing to me back in 2016 Because, at the time, my readership was 1/10th of what it is now, and I wasn’t positive I was likely to consistently sell enough product to justify paying a monthly fee for a similar service like Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger having a small audience, Payhip was the quickest solution that best match my scenario.
Simple To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an page That enables you to see transactions and earnings amounts relative to this day, month, week, year, or any other specified range. Best of all, it is a to-the-point and really straightforward report.
If you used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of information you are instantly smacked in the face with can be somewhat overwhelming, and a lot of it is mostly useless too. Payhip just gives you what you’re there to view — revenue data. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip encounter is The capacity to run promotions.
The codes can be for any percentage you’d Enjoy and for any (or all) products. They can run for whatever length you’d like (or even permanently,) along with the code itself can even be customized to whatever string of text you desire.
I have found this to be very useful. Occasionally I’ll conduct a weekend marketing, place it on Facebook, then raise the article targeting a pixel audience that is re-marketing and I don’t fail to go ROI positive with it. People do respond to limited time offers. Digital Self Serve B2C
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip gives you the capability to let your Readers register as an affiliate of your shop, and you can award whenever someone purchases a product with their custom affiliate link.
This is useful since it allows Men and Women To market your merchandise the commissions paid will be well worthwhile and should they have a stage and an audience of their own that they can tap into.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You will be, if you are into email advertising Able to easily incorporate Payhip with your email marketing provider that is preferred so that whenever a purchase is made, the email address of the purchaser can be added into a list that is selected.
That is minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I want to give it a mention — if you desire, you’ll have Payhip stamp the buyer’s email address into the top left corner of each page of a PDF document they have bought.
So if someone intends to buy your PDF Book subsequently make it available for free they’ll have to be okay with their email address being available. I think that’s a very creative means of deterring pirating.
Upload Many Kinds of Files
Payhip isn’t just a market for ebooks — You can upload any kind of file. Font documents, video/audio files, photos, software, etc..
Overall Simplicity and Modern Design
1 thing that can not be overlooked whenever You are selling something is how current your site looks. Individuals don’t trust myself included. If a site looks like it hasn’t been upgraded since the web 2.0 times, then I start to wonder if perhaps I’m in an abandoned building and putting my payment information into it would pretty much be like throwing my money into a black hole.
That’s not the case with Payhip though. The Site has a simple and very modern layout. If you were to buy a product on the internet, this is what you’d anticipate a checkout page by a trusted business to appear like. Digital Self Serve B2C
Another thing that I like about Payhip is its Overall simplicity. From the second a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip remains out of the way. They display your graphics, sales copy, and just the critical info (like price.) They do nothing to interfere with your purchase — no.
Eventually, what I like about Payhip is That customer payment info isn’t stored by them, meaning your clients’ payment details are secure. The payment is managed through Stripe or PayPal, and I prefer it that way as they’re successful companies with lots of cash to spend on security.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I enjoy Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some things that I dislike about the service and would like to see enhanced…
No Mobile App
1 thing that bugs me around Payhip is that They do not have a mobile program. It would be convenient to be able to open an app while I’m out and around and take a look through my earnings data. The website isn’t even optimized for mobile devices, although you do this and may log in to the site.
I enjoy Payhip, but this is a really Lousy look in 2018. There’s no reason you should not have a site optimized for cellular, and when you have that, you should be able to easily turn the site itself into it’s own app so users do not have to manually register in each time they want to check sales data. Permit users of Payhip encounter a better platform when they are on their devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d like to see an capability that is added to suggest Other products. By way of instance, if they’re purchasing a package of templates for $5, then I could offer a package of business card templates for a few extra bucks, or suggest some other similar product which may interest them that they previously didn’t know about. This is something which sites like Amazon and VistaPrint do quite well.
I can not help but feel as though there’s a Great Deal of money Table — for both myself and Payhip — with no functionality. This could improve the Payhip experience for both the customer and the seller.
Establish On A Fixed Timezone
This one is frivolous, but I Like to see it corrected.
Since Payhip is located at London, they’ve The functioning timezone for the site place to BST. Since I’m found in the EST, I will sometimes check my analytics at 7PM or later and see that I left 0 sales for the day because Payhip thinks it is midnight and its own information reflects that.
This is mostly a non-issue, however I Would like to see the ability to correct the site. Digital Self Serve B2C
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the coupon It is not perfect, although code feature earlier.
As it now stands, the promotion You can run via a voucher code is for a percentage off. I’d love to have the ability to offer a dollar amount off the cost, or the capability to set a sale price.
At the moment, if I want to place a product Available for $10, I must break out the calculator and do the math to figure out what percentage off will render the cost at $10. I think this is unnecessary and may be made better.
When creating A new product in Payhip, you have access to advanced options which include —
- Make your product personal.
- Add an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) for your eBook.
- Publish sample pages or a preview.
- To the number of copies of market or your product can be add a limit amount sold.
- Generate a license key .
Just how much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you to establish or host your products. The site takes only 5% commission per trade fee.
Can I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after two + years as a vendor on Payhip, do you recommend it? Overall, yes. I am a customer, but whether you should use it depends on your situation.
If you’re a new blogger with a small audience And you can not justify spending $10+ per month to get something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would absolutely recommend Payhip. But if you know that you’ll do at least $ 1,000 in sales each month and sell a product that is high-ticket or have a massive audience, you may want to look into something most cost effective.
As of the date of this writing, Payhip works On a flat fee of 5% of each sale. Gumroad’s fee is now 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 a month.
If you are going to be selling $1,000 per month in total quantity, the mathematics should (in most cases) prefer Payhip. But if you’re selling into the thousands, you are probably going to need to go with Gumroad or look into some other choice. This is dependent on the number of transactions it requires to reach those sales numbers so be sure that you crunch the numbers on your own.
Personally, I absolutely love the Payhip Expertise and am really thankful for their services. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. Digital Self Serve B2C
