Background Digital Selling Definition
Of all the ways of monetizing blog Articles, my method is Such as learning design templates and materials to create and sell products. I have found that it’s extraordinarily more rewarding than running ads and self-made products convert at a greater rate than an affiliate product that somebody else created. The support I use to facilitate this can be Payhip, and this post I’ll be discussing what I both like and dislike about the service based on my Payhip experience as a seller for two + years. My Payhip Expertise
If you’ve ever wanted to sell digital products Through your own website, you’ll want a means to facilitate transactions — some kind of infrastructure that will allow a client to select your product, cover it, and also have it immediately delivered to them with complete hands-off automation. Payhip solves this problem.
Payhip is An that provides users with the easiest tools and options for hosting and selling products directly to their clients online.
The Provider Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is currently based in my capital city of London.
Which are the benefits of utilizing Payhip?
Each online Platform differs, and I have used a couple of them in the past.
Having A stage that is easy to use and one that doesn’t take a massive amount of my time that is valuable is of utmost significance.
Payhip will Save a lot of time because everything is cared for on the Payhip platform.
The Benefits that I’ve gained the most from utilizing Payhip comprise –
- EU VAT is cared for, and it is a huge plus in my book.
- Affordable. The site takes zero fees asides From 5 percent per transaction when you sell a product that is digital.
- Accessibility to analytics accounts.
- Access to advertising tools. You have the option to create Coupons and societal discounts.
- Ability to signup, manage and reward your affiliates.
- Access to product sharing tools. Plus it is possible to embed Buy and your merchandise Now buttons right on your own website or blog.

What I Like About Payhip
Let us get to the information. After my 2 year Payhip experience, here’s what I love about the service…
Upgrades Are Instantaneous
Payhip let us your customers pay with PayPal Or from credit/debit card using Stripe, plus they don’t pay out monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait around for them to clean some sort of holding period. When a customer makes a purchase, the money is instantly available in your account, and if you’ve got the PayPal and also Stripe apps installed on your mobile device, you are going to receive notifications each time a sale occurs. Digital Selling Definition
I happen to love this. The excitement of Seeing a sale that is brand new never gets old. It’s also great to awake in the morning, reach for your telephone, and also see you made X amount of dollars while you were sleeping, and it is all readily available for you to spend. The caveat to this can be Stripe. If your clients pays by card with Stripe, there will be a 3 day hold before the money is available. This is Stripe however — Payhip doesn’t hold your cash in any way.
No Monthly Charges
One of those things that Payhip originally sold me on is that there is no Monthly fees or setup charges — just a simple flat fee of 5% per purchase .
This was appealing to me back Since, at the time, my readership was 1/10th of what it’s now, and that I wasn’t positive that I was going to consistently sell enough product to justify paying a monthly fee to get a similar service like Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger having a little crowd, Payhip was the no-risk solution that best fit my scenario.
Easy To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an page That enables you to see transactions and earnings quantities relative to this day, month, week, year, or some other given selection. On top of that, it’s a report that is really simple and to-the-point.
If you used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the number of information you are immediately smacked in the face can be a bit overwhelming, and a lot of it’s largely useless also. Payhip just provides you exactly what you are there to view — revenue data. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip experience is The capacity to conduct promotions.
The codes may be Like and for any (or all) products. They can run for whatever duration you want (or even permanently,) and the code itself may even be customized to whatever string of text you desire.
I’ve found this to be very useful. Sometimes I will conduct a weekend promotion, post it on Facebook, then raise the article targeting a pixel re-marketing audience and I never fail to go ROI positive with it. People do respond to limited time offers. Digital Selling Definition
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip Provides you the capability to let your Readers sign up as an affiliate of your store, and you can grant them a commission of whatever percent you’d like someone buys a product using their custom affiliate link.
This is useful since it allows Men and Women To market your merchandise the commissions paid will be worth it, and if they have a platform and an audience of their own they can tap to.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You’ll be, if you’re into email marketing Able to incorporate Payhip along with your email advertising provider that is chosen so that a purchase is made, the email address of the purchaser can be added into a listing that is chosen.
This is relatively minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I want to give it a reference — if you so desire, you can have Payhip postage the buyer’s email address into the top left corner of every page of a PDF document they’ve bought.
So if someone intends to Purchase Your PDF Book make it publicly accessible for free somewhere else, they will need to be okay with their email address being publicly available. I believe that is a creative way of deterring pirating.
Upload Many Sorts of Files
Payhip isn’t Only a market for ebooks — You can upload virtually any sort of digital file. Font files, video/audio files, photographs, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
1 thing that can not be overlooked whenever You’re selling something is how present your website appears. People generally do not trust sites which look outdated, myself included. If a site looks like it has not been upgraded because the web 2.0 days, I begin to wonder if maybe I am in an abandoned construction and placing my payment info to it’d pretty much be like throwing my money into a black hole.
That’s not the case with Payhip though. The Website has a very contemporary and easy layout. This is exactly what you would expect a checkout page by a company, if you should purchase a digital merchandise on the internet. Digital Selling Definition
Another thing I like about Payhip is its In general simplicity. In the moment a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip stays out of the way. They display your images, sales copy, and only the critical information (such as price.) They do absolutely nothing to interfere with your sale — no self-promotion whatsoever.
Finally, what I really enjoy about Payhip is That they do not store customer payment information, meaning your customers’ payment details are secure. The payment is handled through Stripe or PayPal, and I prefer it this way because they’re large companies with lots of money.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I enjoy Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some things that I dislike about the service and would like to see improved…
No Mobile App
One thing that bugs me about Payhip is that They don’t possess a app. It’d be convenient to be able to open an app and take a look through my data while I am out and around. The website is optimized for mobile devices, although you may log into the website and do so.
I like Payhip, but that is a really Lousy look in 2018. There is no reason you shouldn’t have a website optimized for cellular, and once you have that, you should be able to easily turn the site itself into it’s own program so users do not have to manually register in every time they would like to check sales data. Permit users of Payhip encounter a platform when they are on their devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons At Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d really like to see an added ability to indicate Other products similar to what the client is about to buy. If they are buying a package of templates for $5, I might provide a bundle of business card templates for a few dollars, or propose some other similar product which could interest them that they didn’t know about. This is something that sites like Amazon and VistaPrint do quite well.
I can not help but feel as though there’s a lot of money being left on the Table — for both myself and Payhip — without this operation. This may enhance the Payhip encounter for both the seller and the client.
Set On A Fixed Timezone
This one is mostly frivolous, but I Prefer to see it corrected.
Since Payhip is located at London, they’ve The working timezone for the site set to BST. Since I’m found in the EST, I will occasionally check my stats at 7PM or afterwards and see that I made 0 sales for the day since Payhip thinks it’s midnight and its data reflects that.
Again, this is mostly a non-issue, but I Would love to see the ability to correct the website. Digital Selling Definition
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the coupon Code feature earlier, but it is not perfect.
As it stands, the sole advertising You’re able to run via a voucher code. I’d like to have the ability to offer a dollar amount off the original price, or the ability to set a sale price that is specified.
Right Now, if I Need to place a merchandise that is $27 On sale for $10, I must break out the calculator and manually do the math to determine what percent off would render the last cost at $10. I think that is unnecessary and could be made better.
When creating A brand new product in Payhip, you have access to advanced alternatives including —
- Make your merchandise private.
- Insert an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) to your eBook.
- Publish sample pages or a preview.
- To how many copies of your product or eBook could be, add a limitation number sold.
- Create a exceptional license key for each of your product/eBook sales.
Just how much does this cost?
Payhip will Cost you or even host your products. The website takes just 5 percent commission per trade fee.
Would I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after 2+ years as a seller on Payhip, do you recommend it? Total, yes. I am a client, but whether or not you should use it depends upon your situation.
If you are a new blogger with a small audience And you can’t justify spending $10+ per month to get something like Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. In case you know you’ll be doing at least $ 1,000 in sales every month and sell a high-ticket product or have a huge audience, you might want to check into something most cost effective.
As of the date of this writing, Payhip functions On a set fee of 5% of every sale. Gumroad’s fee is now 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 a month.
If you’re going to be promoting less than $1,000 per month in total quantity, the mathematics should (in most cases) favor Payhip. But if you’re selling into the thousands, you’ll probably want to go with Gumroad or look into some alternative. That is dependent on how many transactions it requires to achieve those sales numbers so be certain to crunch the numbers for yourself.
Personally, I love the Payhip Experience and am very grateful for their services. I would like to see them continue to grow and succeed. Digital Selling Definition
