Intro Digital Selling
Of All of the ways of Creating blog content, my favorite method is To make and sell products such as studying layout templates and materials. I have discovered that it is extraordinarily rewarding than running advertisements and self explanatory products convert at a much greater speed than an affiliate product that somebody else created. The support I use to facilitate this is Payhip, and in this article I will be sharing what I like and dislike about the ceremony based on my Payhip experience for a vendor for 2+ years. Digital Selling
My Payhip Expertise
If you wanted to sell products Through your own site, you’ll want a way to facilitate transactions — some sort of infrastructure which will enable a client to select your product, cover it, and have it instantaneously delivered to them with whole hands-off automation. Payhip solves this issue.
What is Payhip?
Payhip is An that provides users with options and the tools for selling digital products directly to their clients and hosting online.
The Provider Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is currently based in my capital city of London.
Which are the advantages of using Payhip?
Each online Platform is different, and I’ve used a couple of these in the past.
For me personally, having A stage that is really easy to use and one that does not require a huge amount of my time that is valuable is of utmost significance.
Payhip will Save a great deal of time too because everything is taken care of on the Payhip platform.
The Advantages that I’ve gained the most from utilizing Payhip include –
- EU VAT is cared for, and it can be a huge plus in my book.
- Affordable. The site takes zero charges asides From 5 percent per transaction when you sell a item.
- Accessibility to analytics reports.
- Access to advertising tools. You have the option to make Social and coupons discounts.
- Capability to signup, handle and reward your own affiliates.
- Access to product sharing programs . Plus it is possible to embed Buy and your product Now buttons on your own website or blog.

What I Like About Payhip
Let’s get to the details. Following my 2+ year Payhip experience, here’s what I love about the service…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let us your customers pay with PayPal Or by credit/debit card with Stripe, plus they don’t cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or force you to wait for them to clean some sort of holding period. When a customer makes a purchase, the money is instantly available on your accounts, and in case you’ve got the PayPal and Stripe apps installed on your mobile device, you are going to receive notifications whenever a sale happens. Digital Selling
I happen to appreciate this. The excitement of Seeing a brand new sale never gets older. In addition, it is good to awake in the morning, reach to your phone, and see that you made X amount of dollars while you were sleeping, and it is all readily available for you to spend. The caveat to this is Stripe. If your customers pays by card using Stripe, there will be a three day hold before the money is available. This is all Stripe though — Payhip does not hold your money at all.
No Monthly Charges
One of those things that Payhip initially sold me on is that there’s no Monthly fees or setup charges — only a simple flat charge of 5 percent per purchase .
This was appealing to me Because, at the time, my readership was less than 1/10th of what it is now, and that I wasn’t positive I was likely to always sell enough product to justify paying a monthly fee to get a similar service like Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger with a little audience, Payhip was the no-risk solution that best match my situation.
Easy To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an page That lets you see transactions and earnings amounts relative to this day, month, week, year, or some other given range. On top of that, it is a report that is to-the-point and really straightforward.
If you used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of data you are immediately smacked in the face can be somewhat overwhelming, and lots of it is mostly useless also. Payhip just provides you what you are there to view — sales information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another advantage users of Payhip experience is By creating coupon codes promotions to conduct.
The codes can be Enjoy and for any (or all) products. They could run for whatever duration you want (or even permanently,) and the code itself can even be customized to whatever string of text you desire.
I have found this to be very useful. Sometimes I will conduct a weekend marketing, post it on Facebook boost the article targeting a pixel re-marketing audience and I don’t fail to go ROI positive with it. People do respond to limited time offers. Digital Selling
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip gives you the capability to let your Readers register as an affiliate of your shop, and you can award them a commission of whatever percent you’d like, someone purchases a product using their customized affiliate link.
This is useful because it allows other Men and Women To sell your merchandise and if they have a platform and an audience of their own that they can tap to, the commissions paid will be worth it.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You will be, if you are into marketing Able to incorporate Payhip with your email advertising provider that is preferred so that whenever a sale is made, the email address of the purchaser can be added into a list that is selected.
This is small but I think it’s Pretty cool so I want to give it a mention — if you so desire, you can have Payhip stamp the purchaser’s email address into the upper left corner of each page of a PDF document they have bought.
So if someone intends to buy your PDF Book then make it publicly accessible for free they will have to be fine with their email address being publicly accessible. I believe that is a creative means of deterring pirating.
Upload Many Sorts of Files
Payhip is not Only a market for ebooks — You can upload any kind of electronic file. Font files, video/audio files, photos, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
1 thing that can not be overlooked whenever You’re selling something is the way present your website looks. People don’t trust myself included. If a website looks like it hasn’t been updated because the web 2.0 days, I start to wonder if maybe I’m in an abandoned building and putting my payment info to it would pretty much be like throwing my money into a black hole.
That is not the case with Payhip though. The Website has a layout that is easy and very contemporary. This is exactly what you’d anticipate a checkout page by a business to look like, In the event that you should buy a merchandise on the internet. Digital Selling
Another thing that I enjoy about Payhip is its In general simplicity. In the a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip stays out of the way. They display your images, sales copy, and only the critical info (such as price.) They do nothing to interfere with your purchase — no self-promotion whatsoever.
Finally, what I enjoy about Payhip is That customer payment info isn’t stored by them, meaning that your clients’ payment details are secure. The payment is managed through Stripe or PayPal, and I prefer it this way because they’re successful companies with lots of money.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I enjoy Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some items that I dislike about the service and would like to see enhanced…
No Mobile App
One thing that bugs me around Payhip is that They don’t have a program. It’d be convenient to be able to start an app and take a look while I’m out and around. The website is optimized for mobile devices, although you do this and may log in to the site.
I enjoy Payhip, but that is a very Bad appearance in 2018. There is no reason you should not have a site optimized for mobile, and once you’ve got that, you should be able to easily turn the site itself right into it’s own app so users don’t need to manually register in each time they would like to inspect sales data. Let users of Payhip experience a better platform when they are on their devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I would really like to see an ability that is added to suggest Other products similar to what the client is going to buy. If they’re buying a package of templates for $5, then I could provide a bundle of business card templates or propose. This is something which sites like Amazon and VistaPrint do well.
I can not help but feel like there’s a lot of money Table — for both myself and Payhip — with no operation. This could improve the Payhip encounter for both the vendor and the client.
Establish On A Fixed Timezone
This one is mostly frivolous, but I Prefer to see it fixed.
Considering that Payhip is located in London, they have The working timezone for the entire website place to BST. Since I am located in the EST, I’ll occasionally check my analytics at 7PM or afterwards and see that I made 0 earnings for the day since Payhip thinks it’s midnight and its data reveals that.
Again, this is a non-issue, but I Would like to see the capability to adjust the site to your timezone. Digital Selling
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the coupon Code feature but it is not perfect just yet.
As it now stands, the advertising You can run via a coupon code. Ideally, I’d love to be able to offer a dollar amount to set a sale price that is specified.
At the moment, if I Need to place a product On sale for $10, manually do the math to figure out what percentage off will render the final cost and I have to break out the calculator. I believe that is unnecessary and could be improved.
When creating A new product in Payhip, you also have access to innovative options which include —
- Make your product personal.
- Add an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) to your eBook.
- Upload a few preview or sample pages.
- Add a limit number to the number of copies of your product or eBook could be sold.
- Generate a unique license key for each of your product/eBook sales.
Just how much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you or host your digital products. The website takes just 5 percent commission per transaction fee.
Would I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after 2years as a seller on Payhip, would you recommend it? Total, yes. I am very much a happy client, but whether you ought to use it depends on your situation.
If you are a blogger with a small audience And you can’t justify spending $10+ per month to get something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. However, if you sell a merchandise that is high-ticket or have a huge audience and know you’ll do at least $ 1,000 in sales each month, you might want to check into something.
As of the date of the writing, Payhip works On a flat fee of 5% of every sale. Gumroad’s fee is now 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 per month.
If you’re going to be selling less than $1,000 a month in total quantity, the mathematics should (typically ) prefer Payhip. But if you’re selling well into the thousands, you are probably going to need to decide on Gumroad or look into some other alternative. That is dependent on how many transactions it takes to achieve those sales numbers so make sure that you crunch the numbers on your own.
Personally, I absolutely love the Payhip Expertise and am grateful for their services. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. Digital Selling
