Background Digital Selling Strategies
Of all the ways of Creating blog content, my favorite Strategy is Such as learning design templates and materials, to create and sell products. I have discovered that it is extraordinarily rewarding than running ads from networks such as AdSense, and self-made products convert at a higher rate than an affiliate product that somebody else created. The support I use to facilitate this is Payhip, and this post I will be discussing what I like and dislike about the service based in my Payhip expertise for a seller for two + years. Digital Selling Strategies
My Payhip Expertise
If you wanted to sell products Through your own site, you’ll need a means to facilitate trades — some kind of infrastructure that will allow a customer to select your goods, cover it, and have it immediately delivered to them with whole hands-off automation. Payhip solves this issue.
What is Payhip?
Payhip is An that provides users with the tools and options for hosting and selling digital products to their clients online.
The Provider Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is currently based in my capital city of London.
Which are the advantages of utilizing Payhip?
Each online Platform differs, and I have used a few of these in the past.
For me, having A platform that is really simple to use and one that does not take a massive amount of my time is of paramount importance.
Payhip will Save you a lot of time too because everything is taken care of on the Payhip platform.
The Advantages that I’ve gained the most from utilizing Payhip include –
- EU VAT is cared for, and it can be a huge plus in my book.
- Affordable. The website takes zero charges asides From 5 percent per transaction when you sell a product.
- Access to analytics accounts.
- Access to marketing tools. You have the option to create Coupons and social discounts.
- Capability to signup, handle and reward your own affiliates.

What I Like About Payhip
Let us get to the details. Following my 2 year Payhip experience, here’s what I love about the service…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let us your customers pay with PayPal Or from credit/debit card using Stripe, and they don’t cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait around for them to clean some sort of holding period. When a customer makes a purchase, the money is immediately available on your accounts, and in case you have the PayPal and also Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you are going to receive notifications each time a sale occurs. Digital Selling Strategies
I happen to love this. The excitement of Seeing a sale that is new never gets old. In addition, it is great to awake in the morning, reach to your phone, and also see you made X amount of dollars while you’re sleeping, and it is all easily available for you to spend. The only caveat to this can be Stripe. If your customers card using Stripe, there’ll be a 3 day hold until the money is available. This is Stripe however — Payhip doesn’t hold your cash at all.
No Monthly Charges
One of the things that Payhip originally sold me is that there’s no Monthly charges or setup charges — just a simple flat fee of 5% per purchase .
This was attractive to me back in 2016 Because, at the moment, my readership was less than 1/10th of what it is now, and that I wasn’t positive that I was likely to consistently sell enough product to justify paying a monthly fee to get a similar service like Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger having a small crowd, Payhip was the quickest solution that best fit my situation.
Easy To Understand Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an analytics page That lets you view transactions and earnings quantities relative to this day, month, week, year, or some other given range. Best of all, it is a report that is really simple and to-the-point.
If you used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the number of information you are immediately smacked in the face with can be somewhat overwhelming, and a lot of it is mostly useless too. Payhip just provides you what you are there to view — sales information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip encounter is Promotions to run by producing coupon codes.
The codes may be for almost any percentage you’d Like and for any (or all) products. They can run for whatever duration you want (or even permanently,) along with the code itself may even be customized to whatever string of text you would like.
I have found this to be useful. Occasionally I will conduct a weekend promotion, place it on Facebook, then raise the post targeting a pixel re-marketing audience and I never fail to go ROI positive with it. People truly do respond to limited time offers. Digital Selling Strategies
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip Provides you the capability to let your Readers sign up as an affiliate of your store, and someone purchases a product with their customized affiliate link, you can grant them a commission of whatever percentage you’d like.
This is useful since it allows other Men and Women To market your products the commissions paid will be well worthwhile and if they have an audience of their own and a stage they can tap to.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You will be if you are into email advertising Able to easily integrate Payhip with your chosen email advertising supplier so that whenever a purchase is made, the buyer’s email address can be added into a list.
That is relatively minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I want to give it a mention — if you so desire, you’ll have Payhip postage the buyer’s email address into the top left corner of each page of a PDF document they’ve purchased.
So if someone plans to Purchase Your PDF Publication then make it accessible for free somewhere else, they will need to be fine with their personal email address being publicly accessible as well. I think that’s a means of deterring pirating.
Upload Most Sorts of Files
Payhip is a market for ebooks — It’s possible to upload any sort of digital file. Font documents, video/audio files, photos, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
One thing that can not be overlooked whenever You are selling something is your website appears. Individuals do not trust myself included. If a site looks like it has not been updated because the net 2.0 times, then I begin to wonder if maybe I am in an abandoned construction and placing my payment info into it would pretty much be like throwing my money into a black hole.
That’s not true with Payhip though. The Website has a design that is very modern and simple. This is exactly what you’d anticipate a checkout page from a business In the event that you were to purchase a product on the internet. Digital Selling Strategies
Another thing that I like about Payhip is its In general simplicity. In the moment a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip stays out of the way. They display your images, sales copy, and only the crucial info (such as price.) They do absolutely nothing to interfere with your sale — no.
Finally, what I really enjoy about Payhip is That customer payment info isn’t stored by them, meaning that your clients’ payment details are safe. The payment is completely handled through Stripe or PayPal, and I prefer it that way because they are large, successful companies with a lot of cash to invest on top-shelf security.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I enjoy Payhip, it is far from perfect. Here are some things that I dislike about the ceremony and would like to see enhanced…
No Mobile App
1 thing that bugs me around Payhip is that They don’t have a program. It would be convenient to have the ability to open an app and have a look while I am out and about. You can log in to the website and do so, but the website is optimized for mobile devices.
I enjoy Payhip, but that is a really Bad look in 2018. There is no reason you shouldn’t have a website optimized for mobile, and when you have that, you should be able to easily turn the site itself right into it’s own app so users do not have to manually register in every time they want to check sales information. Let users of Payhip encounter a platform when they’re on their cellular devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d really like to see an Extra capability to suggest Other products similar to what the customer is about to buy. If they’re buying a package of logo templates for $5, I might offer a package of business card templates to get a couple of added bucks, or propose some other product that could interest them that they previously didn’t know about. This is something which sites like VistaPrint and Amazon do well.
I can’t help but feel as though there’s a Great Deal of money being left on the Table — for myself and Payhip — without this functionality. This may enhance the Payhip experience for both the vendor and the client.
Set On A Fixed Timezone
This one is largely frivolous, but I Prefer to see it fixed.
Considering that Payhip is located at London, they’ve BST was set to by the timezone for the entire website. Since I am located in the EST, I’ll occasionally check my analytics at 7PM or later and see that I left 0 sales for the day because Payhip believes it is midnight and its own data reveals that.
Again, this is a non-issue, however I Would like to see that the ability to adjust the website to your timezone. Digital Selling Strategies
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the voucher Code feature earlier, but it’s not quite perfect yet.
As it stands, the advertising You can run through a coupon code is for a percent off. I’d like to have the ability to offer a dollar amount to set a sale price.
Right Now, if I Need to put a $27 merchandise On sale for $10, I must break out the calculator and manually do the math to determine what percent off will leave the price. I think this is unnecessary and could be made better.
When creating A brand new product in Payhip, you have access to innovative alternatives which include —
- Make your product personal.
- Insert an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) for your eBook.
- Upload sample pages or a couple of preview.
- To how many copies of market or your product could be Insert a limitation number sold.
- Create a license key that is unique for all your product/eBook revenue.
Just how much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you or host your electronic products. The website takes only 5 percent commission per trade fee.
Would I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after 2+ years as a vendor on Payhip, would you recommend it? Total, yes. I am a satisfied client, but whether you should use it depends upon your own situation.
If you are a blogger with a small audience And you can’t justify spending $10+ a month for something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. However, in case you have a massive audience or market a high-ticket product and know that you’ll do at least $1,000 in sales each month, you may want to check into something most cost-efficient.
As of this date of the writing, Payhip functions On a set fee of 5 percent of each sale. Gumroad’s fee is currently 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 a month.
If you are going to be selling $1,000 a month in total quantity, the mathematics should (in most cases) favor Payhip. But if you’re selling well into the thousands, you’ll probably want to decide on Gumroad or start looking into some other choice. That is all largely dependent on how many transactions it requires to reach those sales numbers though, so be sure that you crunch the numbers for yourself.
Personally, I love the Payhip Expertise and am thankful for their services. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. Digital Selling Strategies
