Of all the ways of Creating blog content, my favorite Strategy is Such as learning materials and layout templates, to make and sell products. I have discovered that it’s extraordinarily more rewarding than running ads from networks such as AdSense, and products convert at a significantly greater rate compared to an affiliate product that someone else created. The service I use to ease this is Payhip, and this post I’ll be sharing what I both like and dislike about the service based in my Payhip experience for a vendor for 2+ years. General Ebook Reader
My Payhip Experience
If you wanted to sell digital products Through your own website, you are going to want a means to facilitate transactions — some sort of infrastructure which will enable a client to select your goods, cover it, and have it instantaneously delivered to them with whole hands-off automation. Payhip solves this issue.
What is Payhip?
Payhip is An that gives users with options and the tools for hosting and promoting products straight to their customers online.
The company Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is now based in my capital city of London.
Which are the advantages of using Payhip?
Each online Platform differs, and I’ve used a couple of them in the past.
For me, having A platform that is really easy to use and one that doesn’t require a massive amount of my time is of utmost significance.
Payhip will Save a great deal of time also because everything is cared for on the Payhip platform.
The Advantages that I’ve gained the most from using Payhip comprise –
- EU VAT is cared for, which can be a big plus in my book.
- Affordable. The website takes zero charges asides From 5% per transaction when you sell a item.
- Access to analytics accounts.
- Access to advertising tools. You have the option to make Social and Coupons discounts.

What I Like About Payhip
Let’s get to the details. Following my 2+ year Payhip experience, Here Is What I really like about the service…
Upgrades Are Instantaneous
Payhip let’s your customers pay with PayPal Or from credit/debit card with Stripe, and they do not cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait around for them to clear some sort of holding period. When a client makes a purchase, the cash is immediately available on your account, and if you have the PayPal and Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you’ll get notifications whenever a sale occurs. I happen to appreciate this. The excitement of Seeing a sale never gets older. It’s also good to wake up in the morning, reach to your telephone, and also see you made X number of dollars while you were sleeping, and it is all easily available for you to spend. The caveat to this is Stripe. If your customers pays by card with Stripe, there will be a three day hold until the money is available. This is all Stripe though — Payhip doesn’t hold your money in any way.
No Monthly Fees
Among those things that Payhip originally sold me is that there is no Monthly charges or setup charges — just a simple flat charge of 5 percent per sale.
This was appealing to me Because, at the time, my readership was less than 1/10th of what it is now, and that I was not positive that I was going to always sell enough product to warrant paying a monthly fee for a similar service such as Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger with a little crowd, Payhip was the no-risk solution that best fit my scenario.
Simple To Understand Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an page That lets you see trades and earnings amounts relative to the day, month, week, year, or any other specified range. Best of all, it is a report that is straightforward and to-the-point.
If you used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of information you’re instantly smacked in the face can be a bit overwhelming, and a lot of it’s largely useless too. Payhip just gives you what you’re there to see — sales information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip experience is Promotions to run by creating coupon codes.
The codes can be for any percentage you would Enjoy and for any (or all) products. They can run for whatever length you want (or even indefinitely,) and the code itself can even be customized to whatever string of text you desire.
I have found this to be useful. Occasionally I’ll run a weekend promotion, post it on Facebook boost the post targeting a pixel audience that is re-marketing and I never fail to go ROI positive with it. People truly do respond well to limited time offers. General Ebook Reader
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip Provides you the capability to let your Readers sign up as an affiliate of your store, and you are able to award them a commission of whatever percentage you’d like, whenever someone buys a product using their customized affiliate link.
This is useful because it allows other people To sell your merchandise the commissions paid will be well worth it and if they have a platform and an audience of their own they can tap into.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You’ll be if you are into marketing Able to easily incorporate Payhip with your preferred email marketing provider so that a sale is made, the email address of the purchaser can be added into a list.
This is relatively small but I think it’s Pretty cool so I want to give it a reference — if you desire, you can have Payhip postage the buyer’s email address to the top left corner of every page of a PDF document they’ve bought.
So if someone plans to Purchase Your PDF Publication then make it accessible for free somewhere else, they will have to be okay with their personal email address being accessible. I believe that’s a creative way of deterring pirating.
Upload Many Sorts of Files
Payhip is a market for ebooks — It’s possible to upload any sort of electronic file. Font documents, video/audio files, photographs, software, etc..
Overall Simplicity and Modern Design
One thing that can not be overlooked whenever You’re selling something is your site appears. Individuals do not trust websites that appear obsolete, myself included. If a website looks like it hasn’t been upgraded since the web 2.0 days, I begin to wonder if maybe I’m in an abandoned construction and placing my payment information to it would pretty much be like throwing my money into a black hole.
That’s not the case with Payhip though. The Website has a simple and very contemporary design. If you should purchase a product this is what you’d anticipate a checkout page by a trustworthy business to appear like. General Ebook Reader
Another thing I enjoy about Payhip is its In general simplicity. In the very second a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip remains out of the way. They display your graphics, sales copy, and only the crucial information (like price.) They do nothing to interfere with your purchase — no self-promotion whatsoever.
Eventually, what I like about Payhip is That customer payment information isn’t stored by them, meaning that your customers’ payment details are secure. The payment is handled through Stripe or PayPal, and I prefer it that way as they are big companies with lots of money to spend on top-shelf security.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I like Payhip, it is far from perfect. Here are some items that I dislike about the service and would like to see improved…
No Mobile App
One thing that bugs me around Payhip is that They do not possess a app. It’d be convenient to be able to open an app and have a look while I am out and around. You do so and may log in to the site, but the website is optimized for mobile devices.
I like Payhip, but that is a really Lousy look in 2018. There’s no reason you shouldn’t have a site optimized for mobile, and once you have that, you ought to be able to easily turn the website itself into it’s own program so users do not have to manually register in each time they want to inspect sales data. Users of Payhip experience a platform when they are on their cellular devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons At Checkout
On the checkout page, I would like to see an Extra ability to suggest Other products similar to what the customer is going to purchase. If they are purchasing a bundle of logo templates for $5, then I suggest some other product that could interest them they previously didn’t know about, or might offer a package of business card templates for a couple of bucks. This is something which websites like VistaPrint and Amazon do.
I can’t help but feel like there’s a lot of money Table — for myself and Payhip — without this functionality. This could enhance the Payhip encounter for both the vendor and the customer.
Set On A Fixed Timezone
This one is largely frivolous, but I’d still Like to see it fixed.
Since Payhip is located in London, they’ve The working timezone for the site place to BST. Since I am found in the EST, I will occasionally check my analytics at 7PM or afterwards and see that I left 0 sales for the day since Payhip believes it’s midnight and its own information reveals that.
This is a non-issue, however I Would love to observe that the capability to adjust the site to your timezone. General Ebook Reader
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the coupon Code feature but it’s not quite perfect.
As it currently stands, the advertising You’re able to run via a voucher code is for a percentage off. I’d love to be able to offer a dollar amount from the price, or the capability to set a predetermined sale price.
At the moment, if I Need to place a product On sale for $10, manually do the math to determine what percent off would leave the cost at $10 and I must break out the calculator. I believe this is unnecessary and may be made better.
When creating A new product in Payhip, you have access to innovative options including —
- Make your merchandise personal.
- Add an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) to your eBook.
- Publish a sample or preview pages.
- Insert a limit amount to how many copies of eBook or your product could be sold.
- Generate a license key that is unique .
Just how much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you or host your electronic products. The site takes just 5% commission per transaction fee.
Can I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after 2+ years as a seller on Payhip, would you recommend it? Total, yes. I am a client, but whether or not you should use it depends on your own situation.
If you’re a new blogger with a small audience And you can’t justify spending $10+ a month for something like Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. However, if you know you’ll be doing at least $ 1,000 in sales each month and sell a merchandise or have a huge audience, you may want to look into something most cost-efficient.
As of this date of this writing, Payhip works On a set fee of 5% of each sale. Gumroad’s fee is currently 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 per month.
If you are going to be selling less than $1,000 per month in total volume, the math should (typically ) prefer Payhip. But if you’re selling well into the thousands, you need to go with Gumroad or look into another choice. That is mostly dependent on how many transactions it takes to achieve those sales numbers so be sure to crunch the numbers on your own.
Personally, I absolutely love the Payhip Expertise and am grateful for their services. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. General Ebook Reader
