Background How To Sell My Ebook
Of all the ways of Creating content that is blog, my method is Like studying materials and layout templates to make and sell digital products. I have discovered that it is extraordinarily more profitable than running advertisements from networks such as AdSense, and products convert at a much higher rate compared to an affiliate product that someone else created. The service I use to ease this can be Payhip, and in this post I will be sharing what I like and dislike about the service based on my Payhip experience as a seller for two + years. What I Enjoy About Payhip
Let’s get to the information. Following my two year Payhip expertise, Here Is What I love about the service…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let us your customers pay with PayPal Or by credit/debit card using Stripe, plus they don’t pay out monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait around for them to clear some sort of holding period. When a customer makes a purchase, the money is immediately available on your account, and if you’ve got the PayPal and also Stripe apps installed on your mobile device, you’ll receive notifications whenever a sale happens. I happen to appreciate this. The excitement of Seeing a sale never gets older. In addition, it is great to awake in the morning, reach to your telephone, and also see you made X amount of dollars while you’re sleeping, and it’s all easily available for you to spend. The only caveat to this is Stripe. If your customers card using Stripe, there will be a 3 day hold until the money is available. That is all Stripe however — Payhip does not hold your cash in any way.
No Monthly Fees
One of the things that Payhip initially sold me on is that there’s no Monthly fees or setup charges — only a simple flat charge of 5% per purchase .
This was appealing to me back Because, at the time, my readership was less than 1/10th of what it’s now, and I wasn’t positive that I was going to always sell enough product to warrant paying a monthly fee for a similar service like Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger with a little audience, Payhip was the no-risk solution that best match my scenario.
Easy To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an page That lets you view transactions and earnings quantities relative to the day, week, month, year, or any other specified range. Best of all, it’s a report that is simple and to-the-point.
If you’ve ever used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of information you’re instantly smacked in the face with can be somewhat overwhelming, and a lot of it’s largely useless too. Payhip just gives you exactly what you’re there to view — revenue data. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip encounter is By creating coupon codes, promotions to conduct.
The codes may be Like and for any (or all) products. They can run for whatever duration you’d like (or even permanently,) along with the code itself can even be customized to whatever series of text you would like.
I’ve found this to be very useful. Sometimes I will conduct a weekend promotion, post it on Facebook, then boost the article targeting a pixel re-marketing audience and I never fail to go ROI positive with it. People truly do respond to limited time offers. How To Sell My Ebook
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip Provides you the capability to let your Readers register as an affiliate of your shop, and if someone buys a product with their custom affiliate link, you are able to grant them a commission of whatever percent you would like.
This is useful since it allows people To market your products the commissions paid will be well worthwhile and should they have a platform and an audience of their own that they can tap to.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You’ll be if you’re into email marketing Able to readily integrate Payhip along with your chosen email advertising supplier so that if a sale is made, the purchaser’s email address can be added to a list that is selected.
This is relatively minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I wish to give it a reference — if you desire, you’ll have Payhip postage the buyer’s email address to the top left corner of each page of a PDF document they have bought.
So if someone intends to buy your PDF Publication then make it available for free somewhere else, they’ll need to be okay with their email address being publicly available. I think that is a way of deterring pirating.
Upload Most Sorts of Files
Payhip isn’t just a market for ebooks — You can upload any sort of electronic file. Font documents, video/audio files, photographs, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
One thing that can’t be overlooked whenever You are selling something is the way present your website appears. People don’t trust websites that appear obsolete, myself included. If a site looks like it hasn’t been updated since the web 2.0 days, I begin to wonder if maybe I’m in an abandoned building and putting my payment info to it would pretty much be like throwing my money into a black hole.
That is not the case with Payhip though. The Website has a easy and very modern design. This is what you would expect a checkout page from a company to appear like, if you should buy a merchandise on the world wide web. How To Sell My Ebook
Another thing I like about Payhip is its In general simplicity. In the a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip stays out of the way. They display your images, sales copy, and only the critical information (like price.) They do nothing to interfere with your sale — no self-promotion whatsoever.
Eventually, what I enjoy about Payhip is That they do not store customer payment information, meaning that your clients’ payment details are safe. The payment is managed through PayPal or Stripe, and I prefer it this way as they’re successful companies with lots of money.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I enjoy Payhip, it is far from perfect. Here are some items that I dislike about the service and would like to see improved…
No Mobile App
One thing that bugs me around Payhip is that They do not have a mobile program. It’d be convenient to be able to start an app while I am out and around and take a look. The site isn’t optimized for mobile devices, although you may log in to the website and do this.
I like Payhip, but that is a really Bad appearance in 2018. There is no reason you shouldn’t have a site optimized for mobile, and once you have that, you should be able to easily turn the site itself into it’s own app so users don’t need to manually sign in every time they would like to check sales data. Users of Payhip experience a platform when they’re on their mobile devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons At Checkout
On the checkout page, I would really like to see an ability that is added to suggest Other products. If they’re buying a bundle of logo templates for $5, then I propose, or might offer a bundle of business card templates for a few bucks. This is something that sites like Amazon and VistaPrint do well.
I can’t help but feel like there’s a Great Deal of money being left on the Table — for both myself and Payhip — without this operation. This could enhance the Payhip experience for both the client and the seller.
Establish On A Fixed Timezone
This one is frivolous, but I Like to see it fixed.
Since Payhip is located at London, they have BST was set to by the timezone for the website. Since I am found in the EST, I’ll occasionally check my stats at 7PM or afterwards and see that I left 0 earnings for the day because Payhip believes it’s midnight and its data reveals that.
This is largely a non-issue, however I Would like to see that the capability to adjust the website to your own timezone. How To Sell My Ebook
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the voucher Code feature earlier, but it is not quite perfect.
As it now stands, the sole advertising You can run through a coupon code is to get a percent off. Ideally, I’d like to be able to supply a dollar amount to set a predetermined sale price.
Right Now, if I Need to put a $27 merchandise On sale for $10, I must break out the calculator and manually do the math to determine what percent off would leave the final price. I think this is unnecessary and could be improved.
When creating A brand new product in Payhip, you also have access to innovative options including —
- Make your product personal.
- Insert an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) to your eBook.
- Publish a couple of preview or sample pages.
- To how many copies of your product or eBook can be Insert a limitation amount sold.
- Create a license key for each of your product/eBook revenue.
How much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you nothing to establish or even host your electronic products. The website takes only 5 percent commission per transaction fee.
Would I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after two years as a vendor on Payhip, would you recommend it? Overall, yes. I am very much a satisfied customer, but whether you should use it depends upon your situation.
If you are a new blogger with a small audience And you can not justify spending $10+ per month for something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would absolutely recommend Payhip. However, in case you have a huge audience or sell a high-ticket product and know that you’ll do at least $1,000 in sales each month, you might want to look into something most cost-efficient.
As of this date of the writing, Payhip works On a flat fee of 5 percent of every sale. Gumroad’s fee is now 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 per month.
If you are going to be promoting less than $1,000 a month in total quantity, the mathematics should (in most cases) prefer Payhip. But if you are selling into the thousands, you’ll probably want to go with Gumroad or look into another alternative. This is mostly dependent on the number of transactions it requires to achieve those sales numbers though, so be certain that you crunch the numbers.
Personally, I absolutely love the Payhip Expertise and am very thankful for their solutions. I would like to see them continue to grow and succeed. How To Sell My Ebook
