Introduction How To Sell Your Ebook
Of All of the ways of Creating blog Articles, my favorite Strategy is Like learning design templates and materials to make and sell electronic products. I’ve discovered that it is extraordinarily more profitable than running ads from networks such as AdSense, and products convert at a much higher rate than an affiliate product that somebody else created. The service I use to ease this is Payhip, and in this post I’ll be discussing what I like and dislike about the service based in my Payhip experience for a vendor for two + years. My Payhip Expertise
If you’ve ever wanted to sell products Through your own site, you’ll want a means to facilitate transactions — some sort of infrastructure that will allow a customer to select your goods, pay for it, and have it immediately delivered to them with whole hands-off automation. Payhip solves this issue.
Payhip is An e-commerce platform/website that provides users with the tools and solutions for hosting and promoting electronic products to their clients online.
The company Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is now based in my capital city of London.
Which are the benefits of using Payhip?
Each online Platform is different, and I have used a couple of them in the past.
Having A platform that is easy to use and one that doesn’t require a huge amount of my time that is valuable is of utmost importance.
Payhip will Save a lot of time because everything is cared for on the Payhip platform.
The Advantages that I’ve gained the most from utilizing Payhip comprise –
- EU VAT is taken care of, and it is a huge plus in my book.
- Affordable. The site takes zero fees asides From 5 percent per trade when you sell a digital item.
- Accessibility to analytics accounts.

What I Enjoy About Payhip
Let us get to the information. Following my two + year Payhip expertise, here’s what I love about the ceremony…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let us your customers pay with PayPal Or by credit/debit card with Stripe, and they do not pay out monthly/weekly/quarterly or force you to wait around for them to clear some sort of holding period. When a client makes a purchase, the money is immediately available on your account, and in case you’ve got the PayPal and Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you are going to get notifications each time a sale occurs. How To Sell Your Ebook
I happen to love this. The excitement of Seeing a sale never gets older. It’s also good to wake up in the morning, reach to your telephone, and also see that you made X number of dollars while you’re sleeping, and it is all readily available for you to spend. The caveat to this is Stripe. If your clients card using Stripe, there’ll be a 3 day hold until the cash is available. That is Stripe though — Payhip doesn’t hold your money at all.
No Monthly Charges
One of the things that Payhip initially sold me is that there is no Monthly fees or installation charges — just a simple flat charge of 5% per sale.
This was appealing to me back in 2016 Because, at the moment, my readership was 1/10th of what it’s now, and that I wasn’t positive I was likely to always sell enough product to warrant paying a monthly fee to get a similar service like Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger having a small audience, Payhip was the no-risk solution that best match my scenario.
Simple To Understand Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an analytics page That lets you see transactions and earnings amounts relative to the day, week, month, year, or some other given range. Best of all, it is a report.
If you have ever used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of data you are immediately smacked in the face with can be a bit overwhelming, and a lot of it is mostly useless also. Payhip just gives you what you are there to see — revenue information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another advantage users of Payhip encounter is By producing coupon codes, promotions to conduct.
The codes may be Enjoy and for any (or all) products. They can run for whatever length you’d like (or even permanently,) along with the code itself can even be customized to whatever string of text you desire.
I have found this to be very useful. Sometimes I’ll run a weekend promotion, place it on Facebook, then boost the post targeting a pixel audience and I never fail to go ROI positive with it. People do respond to limited time offers. How To Sell Your Ebook
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip Provides you the ability to let your Readers sign up as an affiliate of your store, and someone buys a product using their custom affiliate link, you can award them a commission of whatever percent you would like.
This is useful since it allows other Men and Women To sell your merchandise the commissions paid will be worthwhile and if they have an audience of their own and a stage they can tap to.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You’ll be, if you’re into email advertising Able to integrate Payhip with your email marketing supplier that is preferred so that if a purchase is made, the email address of the purchaser could be added to a list that is chosen.
This is small but I think it’s Pretty cool so I wish to give it a reference — if you desire, you’ll have Payhip stamp the purchaser’s email address into the upper left corner of each page of a PDF document they’ve bought.
So if someone plans to Purchase Your PDF Book make it publicly accessible for free they will need to be okay with their personal email address being accessible as well. I believe that is a really creative means of deterring pirating.
Upload Most Sorts of Files
Payhip isn’t Only a market for ebooks — It’s possible to upload just about any kind of file. Font files, video/audio files, photos, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
One thing that can’t be overlooked whenever You’re selling something is your site looks. People don’t trust myself included. If a site looks like it hasn’t been updated because the web 2.0 days, I begin to wonder if perhaps I’m in an abandoned construction and placing my payment info to it’d pretty much be like throwing my money into a black hole.
That’s not true with Payhip though. The Website has a layout that is very modern and simple. In the event that you were to buy a product on the world wide web, this is what you’d expect a checkout page by a trustworthy company to appear like. How To Sell Your Ebook
Another thing I enjoy about Payhip is its own Overall simplicity. In the very moment a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip stays out of the way. They display your graphics, sales copy, and only the critical info (like price.) They do nothing to interfere with your sale — no self-promotion whatsoever.
Finally, what I really like about Payhip is That they don’t store customer payment info, meaning that your clients’ payment details are safe. The payment is managed through PayPal or Stripe, and I prefer it that way because they’re successful companies with lots of money to invest on security.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I enjoy Payhip, it is far from perfect. Here are some things that I dislike about the service and would like to see improved…
No Mobile App
One thing that bugs me about Payhip is that They don’t have a mobile program. It’d be convenient to be able to start an app while I’m out and around, and take a look during my sales data. You do so and may log in to the site, but the site isn’t optimized for mobile devices.
I like Payhip, but that is a very Bad appearance in 2018. There is no reason you shouldn’t have a site optimized for mobile, and when you’ve got that, you ought to be able to easily turn the site itself right into it’s own app so users don’t have to manually sign in each time they want to check sales information. Users of Payhip experience a much better platform when they’re on their devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d like to see an capability that is added to indicate Other products. If they are buying a package of logo templates for $5, I could provide a package of business card templates or suggest. This is something that sites like VistaPrint and Amazon do well.
I can’t help but feel as though there is a lot of money being left on the Table — for both myself and Payhip — without this operation. This could enhance the Payhip encounter for both the customer and the seller.
Set On A Fixed Timezone
This one is mostly frivolous, but I’d still Prefer to see it fixed.
Since Payhip is located in London, they have BST was set to by The functioning timezone for the site. Since I am found in the EST, I will sometimes check my stats at 7PM or later and see that I left 0 earnings for the day because Payhip thinks it’s midnight and its own information reveals that.
Again, this is a non-issue, but I Would like to see that the ability to adjust the website to your timezone. How To Sell Your Ebook
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the voucher Code feature earlier, but it’s not quite perfect yet.
As it stands, the promotion You’re able to run through a voucher code. Ideally, I’d like to be able to offer a dollar amount to set a sale price that is predetermined.
At the moment, if I want to place a $27 product On sale for $10, I must break out the calculator and do the math to determine what percentage off would leave the cost. I think that is unnecessary and could be made better.
When creating A new product in Payhip, you have access to advanced alternatives including —
- Make your merchandise private.
- Insert an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) for your eBook.
- Publish a preview or sample pages.
- Add a limit amount sold.
- Create a license key that is exceptional for each of your product/eBook sales.
How much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you nothing or host your electronic products. The site takes just 5% commission per transaction fee.
Would I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after two years as a vendor on Payhip, would you recommend it? Overall, yes. I am very much a happy client, but whether or not you should use it depends upon your situation.
If you’re a blogger with a small audience And you can not justify spending $10+ a month to get something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. But if you know you’ll do at least $ 1,000 in sales every month and sell a merchandise that is high-ticket or have a massive audience, you may want to check into something most cost-efficient.
As of this date of this writing, Payhip functions On a flat fee of 5 percent of each sale. Gumroad’s fee is now 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 a month.
If you are going to be promoting less than $1,000 a month in total volume, the math should (in most cases) prefer Payhip. But if you are selling well into the thousands, you’ll probably need to go with Gumroad or start looking into some alternative. This is all dependent on the number of transactions it requires to achieve those sales numbers so make sure that you crunch the numbers for yourself.
Personally, I absolutely love the Payhip Expertise and am really grateful for their services. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. How To Sell Your Ebook
