Of all the ways of monetizing Articles that is blog, my favorite method is To make and sell electronic products like learning layout templates and materials. I’ve discovered that it is extraordinarily rewarding than running ads from networks like AdSense, and products convert at a higher rate compared to an affiliate product that someone else created. The service I use to facilitate this can be Payhip, and in this post I’ll be sharing what I like and dislike about the ceremony based in my Payhip experience as a vendor for two + years. Inkpad
My Payhip Expertise
If you wanted to market products Through your own website, you’ll need a way to facilitate trades — some kind of infrastructure which will enable a customer to select your product, cover it, and also have it instantaneously delivered to them with whole hands-off automation. Payhip solves this issue.
Payhip is An that provides users with options and the simplest tools for hosting and promoting electronic products to their clients online.
The company Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is now based in my capital city of London.
What are the advantages of using Payhip?
Each online Platform is different, and I’ve used a couple of them previously.
Having A platform that is easy to use and one that doesn’t require a huge amount of my precious time is of paramount importance.
Payhip will Save you a lot of time because everything is cared for on the Payhip platform.
The Advantages that I’ve gained the most from using Payhip include –
- EU VAT is cared for, which is a huge plus in my book.
- Affordable. The site takes zero charges asides From 5% per trade when you sell a digital product.
- Accessibility to analytics accounts.
- Access to advertising tools. You have the option to create Coupons and social discounts.
- Ability to signup, handle and reward your affiliates.
- Access to merchandise sharing tools. Plus it is possible to embed Purchase and your merchandise Now buttons right on blog or your website.
- The ability to setup mailing lists so that your customers can Subscribe and remain up to date with your goods, and much more.

What I Like About Payhip
Let’s get to the information. Following my two year Payhip experience, here’s what I love about the ceremony…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let us your customers pay with PayPal Or by credit/debit card with Stripe, plus they do not pay out monthly/weekly/quarterly or force you to wait around for them to clean some kind of holding period. When a customer makes a purchase, the cash is immediately available on your account, and if you have the PayPal and Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you’ll get notifications each time a sale happens. I happen to love this. The excitement of Seeing a sale that is new never gets old. In addition, it is great to awake in the morning, reach for your telephone, and see that you made X number of dollars while you’re sleeping, and it is all readily available for you to spend. The only caveat to this is Stripe. If your customers card using Stripe, there will be a 3 day hold before the money is available. That is Stripe however — Payhip doesn’t hold your money in any way.
No Monthly Fees
One of those things that Payhip originally sold me on is that there’s no Monthly charges or setup charges — only a simple flat charge of 5 percent per purchase .
This was attractive to me back in 2016 Because, at the moment, my readership was less than 1/10th of what it’s now, and I wasn’t positive I was likely to always sell enough product to warrant paying a monthly fee to get a similar service like Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger having a small crowd, Payhip was the no-risk solution that best fit my situation.
Easy To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an page That enables you to view trades and earnings quantities relative to this day, week, month, year, or some other given range. On top of that, it’s a report that is straightforward and to-the-point.
If you’ve used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the number of data you are immediately smacked in the face can be somewhat overwhelming, and a lot of it’s mostly useless also. Payhip just provides you what you are there to view — sales information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip encounter is The capacity to run promotions by producing coupon codes.
The codes can be for any percentage you would Enjoy and for any (or all) products. They could run for any length you’d like (or even permanently,) along with the code itself may even be customized to whatever series of text you desire.
I have found this to be somewhat helpful. Occasionally I’ll conduct a weekend promotion, place it on Facebook, then raise the article targeting a pixel re-marketing audience and I never fail to go ROI positive with it. People truly do respond to limited time offers. Inkpad
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip Provides you the ability to let your Readers register as an affiliate of your shop, and you can award them a commission of whatever percentage you’d like, someone buys a product using their custom affiliate link.
This is useful because it allows other Men and Women To sell your products the commissions paid will be worthwhile and if they have a stage and an audience of their own that they can tap to.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
If you’re into email advertising, you will be Able to integrate Payhip with your email advertising supplier that is chosen so that whenever a sale is made, the purchaser’s email address can be added into a listing.
This is minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I wish to give it a reference — if you desire, you can have Payhip stamp the buyer’s email address into the top left corner of each page of a PDF document they have purchased.
So if someone intends to buy your PDF Book then make it available for free somewhere else, they’ll have to be okay with their email address being accessible. I believe that is a very creative means of deterring pirating.
Upload Many Sorts of Files
Payhip isn’t just a market for ebooks — It’s possible to upload virtually any sort of file. Font documents, video/audio files, photos, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
1 thing that can’t be overlooked whenever You are selling something is your site appears. People generally don’t trust myself included. If a website looks like it hasn’t been updated because the web 2.0 times, then I begin to wonder if perhaps I am in an abandoned construction and placing my payment information into it’d pretty much be just like throwing my money into a black hole.
That is not the case with Payhip though. The Website has a design that is easy and very contemporary. This is exactly what you would expect a checkout page by a business to appear like if you should purchase a merchandise on the internet. Inkpad
Another thing I enjoy about Payhip is its own Overall simplicity. In the moment a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip stays out of the way. They display your graphics, sales copy, and just the critical information (like price.) They do nothing to interfere with your sale — no self-promotion whatsoever.
Eventually, what I enjoy about Payhip is That they do not store customer payment info, meaning that your customers’ payment details are safe. The payment is managed through PayPal or Stripe, and I prefer it that way as they are big, successful companies with a lot of cash.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I like Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some things that I dislike about the service and would like to see enhanced…
No Mobile App
One thing that bugs me around Payhip is that They do not have a program. It’d be convenient to be able to start an app and have a look during my data while I am out and about. You can log into the site and do this, but the website is optimized for mobile devices.
I like Payhip, but this is a very Lousy look in 2018. There is no reason you shouldn’t have a website optimized for mobile, and once you have that, you should be able to easily turn the site itself into it’s own program so users do not have to manually sign in each time they would like to check sales information. Users of Payhip experience a platform when they are on their cellular devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons At Checkout
On the checkout page, I would really like to see an capability that is added to indicate Other products similar to what the client is about to buy. If they are purchasing a package of logo templates for $5, then I could provide a bundle of business card templates to get a few bucks, or suggest. This is something that websites like Amazon and VistaPrint do well.
I can’t help but feel as though there’s a Great Deal of money being left on the Table — for both myself and Payhip — with no functionality. This could enhance the Payhip experience for both the vendor and the customer.
Set On A Fixed Timezone
This one is frivolous, but I had still Like to see it corrected.
Considering that Payhip is located in London, they’ve The working timezone for the website set to BST. Since I’m located in the EST, I’ll sometimes check my stats at 7PM or later and see that I made 0 sales for the day since Payhip thinks it is midnight and its information reveals that.
Again, this is a non-issue, but I Would like to see the capability to adjust the website to your timezone. Inkpad
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the coupon Code feature but it’s not quite perfect just yet.
As it currently stands, the promotion You can run via a voucher code is to get a percent off. Ideally, I’d love to have the ability to supply a dollar amount to set a sale price that is specified.
Right Now, if I Need to put a merchandise On sale for $10, I have to break out the calculator and do the math to determine what percent off would leave the cost at $10. I believe that is unnecessary and could be made better.
When creating A brand new product in Payhip, you have access to advanced options including —
- Make your merchandise private.
- Add an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) to your eBook.
- Upload sample pages or a preview.
- To how many copies of your product or eBook could be, Insert a limit amount sold.
- Generate a license key that is exceptional for each of your product/eBook sales.
How much does this cost?
Payhip will Cost you to set up or host your products. The site takes just 5% commission per trade fee.
Would I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after two years as a vendor on Payhip, would you recommend it? Overall, yes. I am very much a satisfied customer, but whether you should use it depends upon your own situation.
If you are a new blogger with a small audience And you can’t justify spending $10+ per month to get something like Gumroad, then yes, I would absolutely recommend Payhip. If you have a huge audience or sell a product and know you’ll do at least $1,000 in sales every month, you may want to check into something most cost effective.
As of this date of the writing, Payhip functions On a flat fee of 5% of every sale. Gumroad’s fee is currently 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 per month.
If you’re going to be promoting $1,000 a month in total volume, the math should (typically ) prefer Payhip. But if you’re selling well into the thousands, you are probably going to need to decide on Gumroad or start looking into another alternative. That is dependent on the number of transactions it takes to reach those sales numbers so make sure to crunch the numbers on your own.
Personally, I absolutely love the Payhip Expertise and am grateful for their solutions. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. Inkpad
