Of all the ways of Creating blog content, my method is Such as learning materials and design templates to create and sell products. I’ve found that it is extraordinarily profitable than running ads and products convert at a greater speed compared to an affiliate product that somebody else created. The service I use to ease this can be Payhip, and in this post I’ll be discussing what I like and dislike about the service based on my Payhip experience as a seller for 2+ years. Instapaper
My Payhip Expertise
If you’ve ever wanted to market products Through your own site, you’ll need a way to facilitate trades — some kind of infrastructure that will allow a client to select your product, pay for it, and have it immediately delivered to them with whole hands-off automation. Payhip solves this problem.
What is Payhip?
Payhip is An e-commerce platform/website that provides users with the easiest tools and options for promoting digital products to their customers and hosting online.
The Provider Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is now based in my capital city of London.
What are the benefits of utilizing Payhip?
Each online Platform differs, and I have used a couple of them previously.
For me personally, having A stage that is easy to use and one that doesn’t take a massive amount of my valuable time is of paramount importance.
Payhip will Save you a great deal of time also because everything is cared for on the Payhip platform.
The Benefits that I’ve gained the most from using Payhip comprise –
- EU VAT is taken care of, which is a huge plus in my book.
- Affordable. The website takes zero fees asides From 5 percent per trade when you sell a digital item.
- Access to analytics accounts.
- Access to advertising tools. You have the option to create Social and coupons discounts.
- Ability to signup, manage and reward your own affiliates.
- Access to product sharing tools. Plus it is possible to embed Buy and your product Now buttons directly on your own website or blog.
- The ability to set mailing lists so that your clients can Subscribe and remain up to date with your digital goods, and much more.
- Immediate digital merchandise shipping via email link for customers.
What I Enjoy About Payhip
Let’s get to the information. Following my 2 year Payhip experience, Here Is What I really like about the ceremony…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let’s your customers pay with PayPal Or from credit/debit card with Stripe, plus they do not cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait for them to clear some kind of holding period. When a customer makes a purchase, the cash is instantly available in your account, and if you’ve got the PayPal and also Stripe apps installed on your mobile device, you are going to get notifications whenever a sale occurs. Instapaper
I happen to love this. The excitement of Seeing a sale never gets older. It’s also good to awake in the morning, reach for your phone, and also see you made X number of dollars while you’re sleeping, and it’s all easily available for you to spend. The only caveat to this is Stripe. If your customers pays by card using Stripe, there will be a three day hold before the cash is available. That is Stripe however — Payhip doesn’t hold your money at all.
No Monthly Fees
Among those things that Payhip originally sold me is that there’s no Monthly charges or setup charges — just a simple flat fee of 5% per purchase .
This was attractive to me Since, at the time, my readership was 1/10th of what it’s now, and I wasn’t positive that I was going to consistently sell enough product to justify paying a monthly fee to get a similar service like Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger with a small audience, Payhip was the no-risk solution that best fit my scenario.
Easy To Understand Analytics
Payhip’s back end offers an page That enables you to see trades and earnings quantities relative to this day, week, month, year, or any other given selection. Best of all, it is a to-the-point and really simple report.
If you’ve used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the number of information you are immediately smacked in the face with can be somewhat overwhelming, and lots of it’s largely useless too. Payhip just gives you exactly what you are there to view — revenue data. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip experience is Promotions to run by creating coupon codes.
The codes may be for almost any percentage you’d Like and for any (or all) products. They could run for any length you want (or even indefinitely,) and the code itself can even be customized to whatever string of text you would like.
I’ve found this to be helpful. Occasionally I’ll conduct a weekend marketing, post it on Facebook, then boost the post targeting a pixel re-marketing audience and I don’t fail to go ROI positive with it. People truly do respond to limited time offers. Instapaper
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip gives you the capability Readers register as an affiliate of your shop, and you are able to grant them a commission of whatever percent you would like someone purchases a product with their custom affiliate link.
This is useful because it allows other Men and Women To market your merchandise for you, and should they have a stage and an audience of their own they can tap to, the commissions paid will be well worthwhile.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You’ll be, if you’re into email advertising Able to readily incorporate Payhip along with your email marketing provider that is preferred so that a purchase is made, the email address of the purchaser can be added into a chosen listing.
That is minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I want to give it a mention — if you so desire, you’ll have Payhip stamp the buyer’s email address into the upper left corner of every page of a PDF document they have bought.
So if someone plans to buy your PDF Book then make it available for free somewhere else, they will need to be okay with their email address being accessible. I think that’s a really creative means of deterring pirating.
Upload Many Kinds of Files
Payhip isn’t Only a marketplace for ebooks — It’s possible to upload any sort of file. Font documents, video/audio files, photographs, software, etc..
Overall Simplicity and Modern Design
One thing that can’t be overlooked whenever You’re selling something is how present your site looks. Individuals generally don’t trust myself included. If a site looks like it has not been upgraded since the web 2.0 days, I begin to wonder if perhaps I’m in an abandoned building and placing my payment information into it’d pretty much be just like throwing my money into a black hole.
That is not true with Payhip though. The Site has a very modern and simple design. This is what you would expect a checkout page from a trusted company to appear like, if you were to buy a digital product on the internet. Instapaper
Another thing that I like about Payhip is its In general simplicity. From the moment a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip stays out of the way. They display your images, sales copy, and just the critical info (like price.) They do nothing to interfere with your purchase — no.
Finally, what I really like about Payhip is That they don’t store customer payment info, meaning your customers’ payment details are secure. The payment is managed through PayPal or Stripe, and I prefer it that way as they’re successful companies with a lot of money.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I enjoy Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some items that I dislike about the service and would like to see improved…
No Mobile App
1 thing that bugs me around Payhip is that They don’t possess a mobile program. It’d be convenient to have the ability to start an app while I am out and around, and have a look through my sales data. The website is optimized for mobile devices, although you can log into the site and do so.
I enjoy Payhip, but this is a very Lousy appearance in 2018. There is no reason you shouldn’t have a website optimized for cellular, and once you have that, you should be able to easily turn the site itself into it’s own program so users do not need to manually sign in every time they would like to check sales data. Users of Payhip encounter a better platform when they’re on their mobile devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d really like to see an ability that is Extra to indicate Other products. By way of example, if they are buying a bundle of templates for $5, then I could provide a package of business card templates or propose some other product which may interest them they didn’t know about. This is something which websites like Amazon and VistaPrint do.
I can’t help but feel as though there is a lot of money Table — for myself and Payhip — with no functionality. This could enhance the Payhip experience for both the customer and the seller.
Establish On A Fixed Timezone
This one is frivolous, but I’d still Prefer to see it fixed.
Since Payhip is located at London, they’ve The working timezone for the website set to BST. Since I am located in the EST, I will occasionally check my analytics at 7PM or later and see that I made 0 sales for the day because Payhip thinks it’s midnight and its own information reflects that.
Again, this is a non-issue, but I Would like to see that the capability to correct the site. Instapaper
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the coupon Code feature but it’s not quite perfect.
As it stands, the advertising You’re able to run through a coupon code is for a percentage off. I’d like to have the ability to offer a dollar amount to set a sale price.
Right Now, if I want to place a $27 merchandise Available for $10, I must break out the calculator and manually do the math to determine what percentage off will leave the cost. I think this is unnecessary and may be made better.
When creating A brand new product in Payhip, you have access to advanced alternatives which include —
- Make your product personal.
- Insert an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) for your eBook.
- Publish sample pages or a preview.
- To how many copies of eBook or your product can be, Insert a limit amount sold.
- Generate a license key .
How much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you nothing or even host your digital products. The website takes just 5 percent commission per transaction fee.
Can I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after 2years as a vendor on Payhip, do you recommend it? Total, yes. I am a happy customer, but whether you should use it depends upon your situation.
If you are a blogger with a small audience And you can’t justify spending $10+ a month for something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would absolutely recommend Payhip. In case you know that you’ll be doing at least $ 1,000 in sales each month and sell a high-ticket product or have a massive audience, you may want to look into something.
As of this date of this writing, Payhip functions On a set fee of 5% of each sale. Gumroad’s fee is now 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 a month.
If you are going to be selling less than $1,000 a month in total quantity, the mathematics should (typically ) favor Payhip. But if you are selling well into the thousands, you need to go with Gumroad or start looking into some other choice. This is largely dependent on how many transactions it takes to reach those sales numbers so make certain that you crunch the numbers.
Personally, I absolutely love the Payhip Experience and am thankful for their solutions. I would like to see them continue to grow and succeed. Instapaper
