Of all the ways of monetizing content, my Strategy is Such as studying materials and design templates to create and sell digital products. I have discovered that it’s extraordinarily more rewarding than running advertisements from networks like AdSense, and self-made products convert at a significantly greater speed than an affiliate product that somebody else created. The support I use to facilitate this can be Payhip, and this post I will be discussing what I both like and dislike about the ceremony based in my Payhip experience as a seller for two + years. Kobo
My Payhip Experience
If you wanted to market digital products Through your own website, you are going to want a way to facilitate transactions — some kind of infrastructure that will allow a client to select your goods, cover it, and also have it immediately delivered to them with complete hands-off automation. Payhip solves this issue.
Payhip is An that gives customers with the easiest tools and options for hosting and selling electronic products directly to their customers online.
The Provider Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is currently based in my capital city of London.
What are the advantages of utilizing Payhip?
Each online Platform is different, and I have used a few of these in the past.
For me, having A stage that is easy to use and one that does not take a massive amount of my precious time is of utmost significance.
Payhip will Save a lot of time because everything is cared for on the Payhip platform.
The Benefits that I’ve gained the most from using Payhip include –
- EU VAT is taken care of, and it is a huge plus in my book.
- Affordable. The site takes zero fees asides From 5% per transaction when you sell a item.
- Access to analytics reports.

What I Enjoy About Payhip
Let’s get to the information. Following my 2 year Payhip expertise, here’s what I really like about the service…
Upgrades Are Instantaneous
Payhip let’s your customers pay with PayPal Or by credit/debit card using Stripe, plus they don’t cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait for them to clean some kind of holding period. When a client makes a purchase, the cash is immediately available in your accounts, and in case you’ve got the PayPal and Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you are going to get notifications each time a sale happens. Kobo
I happen to love this. The excitement of Seeing a sale never gets old. It’s also great to wake up in the morning, reach for your telephone, and also see that you made X amount of dollars while you’re sleeping, and it is all easily available for you to spend. The caveat to this can be Stripe. If your clients pays by card using Stripe, there’ll be a three day hold until the money is available. This is Stripe though — Payhip does not hold your money in any way.
No Monthly Charges
One of those things that Payhip initially sold me on is that there’s no Monthly charges or installation charges — only a simple flat fee of 5 percent per sale.
This was appealing to me back Because, at the time, my readership was less than 1/10th of what it is now, and I wasn’t positive I was likely to always sell enough product to warrant paying a monthly fee for a similar service like Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger with a little crowd, Payhip was the no-risk solution that best match my situation.
Easy To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end offers an analytics page That enables you to see transactions and earnings quantities relative to the day, week, month, year, or any other given selection. Best of all, it is a to-the-point and very simple report.
If you used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the number of data you are immediately smacked in the face with can be a bit overwhelming, and lots of it’s largely useless also. Payhip just provides you exactly what you’re there to view — sales data. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another advantage users of Payhip encounter is By producing coupon codes, promotions to conduct.
The codes can be Like and for any (or all) products. They can run for any length you’d like (or even permanently,) along with the code itself may even be customized to whatever string of text you desire.
I’ve found this to be somewhat useful. Occasionally I will conduct a weekend marketing, place it on Facebook, then boost the article targeting a pixel audience and I never fail to go ROI positive by it. People really do respond well to limited time offers. Kobo
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip Provides you the ability Readers sign up as an affiliate of your store, and you are able to award, whenever someone buys a product using their custom affiliate link.
This is useful because it allows other people To market your products for you, the commissions paid will be well worth it and if they have a stage and an audience of their own that they can tap into.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You will be, if you’re into email advertising Able to integrate Payhip along with your email marketing supplier that is chosen so that a purchase is made, the purchaser’s email address could be added into a listing.
This is small but I think it’s Pretty cool so I wish to give it a reference — if you so desire, you’ll have Payhip stamp the purchaser’s email address into the upper left corner of every page of a PDF document they have bought.
So if someone intends to buy your PDF Publication subsequently make it publicly available for free they will need to be fine with their email address being publicly accessible. I believe that’s a creative means of deterring pirating.
Upload Many Sorts of Files
Payhip is a market for ebooks — It’s possible to upload any sort of file. Font files, video/audio files, photographs, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
1 thing that can’t be overlooked whenever You are selling something is your site looks. People generally do not trust myself included. If a site looks like it has not been updated because the web 2.0 days, I start to wonder if perhaps I am in an abandoned construction and placing my payment information into it’d pretty much be just like throwing my money into a black hole.
That’s not the case with Payhip though. The Site has a layout that is very contemporary and simple. This is what you would anticipate a checkout page by a company In the event that you should purchase a merchandise on the internet. Kobo
Another thing I like about Payhip is its Overall simplicity. In the a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip remains out of the way. They display your graphics, sales copy, and only the crucial information (like price.) They do nothing to interfere with your purchase — no.
Eventually, what I actually enjoy about Payhip is That customer payment info isn’t stored by them, meaning your customers’ payment details are safe. The payment is managed through PayPal or Stripe, and I prefer it that way as they’re successful companies with a lot of money to invest on top-shelf security.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I enjoy Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some things that I dislike about the service and would like to see improved…
No Mobile App
One thing that bugs me about Payhip is that They do not have a app. It’d be convenient to be able to start an app while I’m out and around and take a look. You can log in to the site and do so, but the website isn’t optimized for mobile devices.
I enjoy Payhip, but that is a very Bad look in 2018. There’s no reason you should not have a site optimized for mobile, and once you’ve got that, you should be able to easily turn the site itself into it’s own program so users do not have to manually register in each time they want to inspect sales information. Permit users of Payhip encounter a platform when they are on their cellular devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I would really like to see an ability that is added to suggest Other products similar to what the client is going to purchase. By way of example, if they’re buying a bundle of logo templates for $5, I might provide a bundle of business card templates or propose. This is something that websites like Amazon and VistaPrint do.
I can not help but feel like there’s a lot of money Table — for myself and Payhip — with no functionality. This could improve the Payhip experience for both the vendor and the client.
Set On A Fixed Timezone
This one is mostly frivolous, but I Like to see it fixed.
Considering that Payhip is located in London, they’ve The timezone for the website set to BST. Since I’m located in the EST, I will occasionally check my stats at 7PM or later and see that I left 0 sales for the day because Payhip thinks it is midnight and its own information reflects that.
This is largely a non-issue, however I Would love to observe the capability to adjust the site to your timezone. Kobo
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the coupon It is not quite perfect yet, although code feature earlier.
As it stands, the advertising You can run through a voucher code. Ideally, I’d like to be able to supply a dollar amount from the cost, or the ability to set a sale price.
Right Now, if I want to put a merchandise that is $27 On sale for $10, I must break out the calculator and do the math to figure out what percent off would render the price. I believe this is unnecessary and may be improved.
When creating A brand new product in Payhip, you also have access to advanced options including —
- Make your product personal.
- Add an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) to your eBook.
- Upload sample pages or a couple of preview.
- Add a limitation amount to the number of copies of eBook or your product could be sold.
- Create a license key that is unique for all your product/eBook revenue.
How much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you to set up or host your products. The site takes only 5 percent commission per transaction fee.
Would I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after 2+ years as a vendor on Payhip, do you recommend it? Total, yes. I am very much a satisfied client, but whether you should use it depends on your situation.
If you’re a blogger with a small audience And you can not justify spending $10+ per month for something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. But in case you have a massive audience or market a merchandise and know you’ll be doing at least $1,000 in sales every month, you might want to check into something.
As of this date of this writing, Payhip functions On a set fee of 5% of every sale. Gumroad’s fee is currently 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 per month.
If you are going to be selling $1,000 per month in total volume, the mathematics should (typically ) prefer Payhip. But if you’re selling well into the thousands, you’ll probably need to decide on Gumroad or look into some other choice. That is dependent on how many transactions it requires to achieve those sales numbers so be sure that you crunch the numbers.
Personally, I absolutely love the Payhip Expertise and am really thankful for their solutions. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. Kobo
