Intro Payhip Jem Wolfie
Of All of the ways of monetizing blog Articles, my favorite Strategy is To make and sell digital products. I’ve discovered that it’s extraordinarily more rewarding than running ads from networks like AdSense, and self-made products convert at a much higher rate than an affiliate product that somebody else created. The support I use to facilitate this can be Payhip, and this post I will be sharing what I like and dislike about the ceremony based on my Payhip expertise for a vendor for 2+ years. My Payhip Expertise
If you’ve ever wanted to sell digital products Through your own site, you’ll want a way to facilitate transactions — some sort of infrastructure which will enable a customer to select your goods, pay for it, and have it immediately delivered to them with whole hands-off automation. Payhip solves this problem.
What is Payhip?
Payhip is An that gives customers with the tools and options for hosting and promoting electronic products directly to their customers online.
The company Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is currently based in my capital city of London.
What are the benefits of using Payhip?
Each online Platform differs, and I have used a couple of them previously.
For me personally, having A stage that is simple to use and one that doesn’t require a massive amount of my time that is precious is of utmost importance.
Payhip will Save you a great deal of time too because everything is cared for on the Payhip platform.
The Benefits that I’ve gained the most from utilizing Payhip comprise –
- EU VAT is taken care of, which can be a huge plus in my book.
- Affordable. The site takes zero charges asides From 5% per trade when you sell a digital product.

What I Like About Payhip
Let’s get to the details. Following my 2+ year Payhip experience, Here Is What I really like about the service…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let’s your customers pay with PayPal Or by credit/debit card with Stripe, and they don’t pay out monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait for them to clear some sort of holding period. When a client makes a purchase, the cash is immediately available on your account, and in case you have the PayPal and also Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you are going to get notifications whenever a sale occurs. I happen to appreciate this. The excitement of Seeing a new sale never gets older. It’s also good to wake up in the morning, reach to your telephone, and also see that you made X amount of dollars while you were sleeping, and it’s all easily available for you to spend. The caveat to this is Stripe. If your clients pays by card using Stripe, there will be a 3 day hold until the cash is available. That is all Stripe however — Payhip does not hold your money at all.
No Monthly Charges
One of the things that Payhip originally sold me is that there is no Monthly charges or setup charges — only a simple flat fee of 5 percent per sale.
This was attractive to me back in 2016 Because, at the time, my readership was 1/10th of what it’s now, and that I wasn’t positive that I was likely to always sell enough product to warrant paying a monthly fee to get a similar service such as Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger having a small audience, Payhip was the no-risk solution that best fit my scenario.
Easy To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end offers an analytics page That lets you see transactions and earnings quantities relative to the day, month, week, year, or some other given selection. On top of that, it is a to-the-point and straightforward report.
If you used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of information you’re immediately smacked in the face can be a bit overwhelming, and lots of it is mostly useless also. Payhip just provides you what you are there to view — sales information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another advantage users of Payhip experience is By creating coupon codes promotions to conduct.
The codes can be for any percentage you would Like and for any (or all) products. They could run for any duration you want (or even permanently,) along with the code itself can even be customized to whatever series of text you would like.
I have found this to be very useful. Occasionally I’ll conduct a weekend marketing, post it on Facebook raise the post targeting a pixel re-marketing audience and I never fail to go ROI positive with it. People really do respond to limited time offers. Payhip Jem Wolfie
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip gives you the capability Readers register as an affiliate of your shop, and you can award whenever someone buys a product using their custom affiliate link.
This is useful because it allows people To market your merchandise and should they have a stage and an audience of their own that they can tap to, the commissions paid will be well worth it.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You will be if you’re into email marketing Able to easily incorporate Payhip along with your preferred email marketing supplier so that a purchase is made, the email address of the purchaser can be added to a list that is chosen.
That is minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I wish to give it a mention — if you desire, you can have Payhip stamp the buyer’s email address to the upper left corner of each page of a PDF document they have purchased.
So if someone plans to buy your PDF Book make it publicly available for free they will have to be fine with their email address being available as well. I think that’s a way of deterring pirating.
Upload Most Kinds of Files
Payhip isn’t Only a market for ebooks — You can upload any sort of file. Font documents, video/audio files, photos, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
1 thing that can’t be overlooked whenever You are selling something is your website looks. People generally don’t trust sites which look outdated, myself included. If a website looks like it has not been updated because the net 2.0 days, I start to wonder if perhaps I’m in an abandoned construction and placing my payment info to it would pretty much be just like throwing my money into a black hole.
That is not true with Payhip though. The Website has a very contemporary and easy layout. This is what you’d anticipate a checkout page by a company In the event that you were to purchase a digital product on the internet. Payhip Jem Wolfie
Another thing that I like about Payhip is its own In general simplicity. From the a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip stays out of the way. They display your images, sales copy, and just the crucial info (like price.) They do nothing to interfere with your purchase — no self-promotion whatsoever.
Finally, what I enjoy about Payhip is That they do not store customer payment info, meaning your clients’ payment details are secure. The payment is totally handled through Stripe or PayPal, and I prefer it this way because they are successful companies with a lot of money to spend on security.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I enjoy Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some items that I dislike about the ceremony and would like to see enhanced…
No Mobile App
1 thing that bugs me around Payhip is that They do not have a mobile program. It’d be convenient to be able to open an app while I’m out and about and have a look through my data. The site is optimized for mobile devices, although you do this and may log into the website.
I enjoy Payhip, but this is a very Bad look in 2018. There is no reason you shouldn’t have a site optimized for cellular, and once you’ve got that, you should be able to easily turn the site itself right into it’s own app so users do not have to manually register in every time they would like to inspect sales information. Users of Payhip encounter a platform when they’re on their mobile devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons At Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d really like to see an capability to indicate Other products. If they are purchasing a bundle of logo templates for $5, I could provide a bundle of business card templates or suggest. This is something that websites like VistaPrint and Amazon do quite well.
I can’t help but feel as though there’s a Great Deal of money being left on the Table — for both myself and Payhip — with no operation. This could enhance the Payhip experience for both the vendor and the customer.
Establish On A Fixed Timezone
This one is largely frivolous, but I Prefer to see it fixed.
Considering that Payhip is located at London, they’ve The timezone for the website place to BST. Since I’m found in the EST, I’ll sometimes check my analytics at 7PM or later and see that I left 0 sales for the day since Payhip thinks it’s midnight and its own information reveals that.
Again, this is mostly a non-issue, but I Would like to see the capability to correct the site. Payhip Jem Wolfie
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the voucher Code feature earlier, but it’s not perfect just yet.
As it stands, the promotion You’re able to run through a voucher code is for a percent off. Ideally, I’d love to be able to supply a dollar amount off the price, or the ability to set a sale price that is specified.
At the moment, if I Need to put a $27 merchandise Available for $10, do the math to determine what percentage off will render the cost at $10 and I have to break out the calculator. I think that is unnecessary and could be improved.
When creating A new product in Payhip, you also have access to innovative options which include —
- Make your merchandise private.
- Add an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) for your eBook.
- Upload sample pages or a couple of preview.
- To how many copies of eBook or your product can be, Insert a limit amount sold.
- Generate a license key that is unique for all your product/eBook sales.
How much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you nothing or host your digital products. The site takes just 5% commission per transaction fee.
Can I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after two + years as a vendor on Payhip, would you recommend it? Total, yes. I am very much a customer, but whether or not you should use it depends on your own situation.
If you are a blogger with a small audience And you can not justify spending $10+ per month to get something like Gumroad, then yes, I would absolutely recommend Payhip. However, if you have a huge audience or market a high-ticket merchandise and know that you’ll be doing at least $1,000 in sales each month, you may want to check into something most cost-efficient.
As of this date of this writing, Payhip works On a set fee of 5% of every sale. Gumroad’s fee is currently 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 a month.
If you’re going to be selling less than $1,000 a month in total quantity, the mathematics should (typically ) prefer Payhip. But if you’re selling well into the thousands, you are probably going to want to decide on Gumroad or start looking into another alternative. That is mostly dependent on how many transactions it requires to achieve those sales numbers though, so be certain to crunch the numbers.
Personally, I absolutely love the Payhip Experience and am really grateful for their services. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. Payhip Jem Wolfie
