Of all the ways of Creating content, my favorite method is To make and sell digital products such as learning layout templates and materials. I have found that it is extraordinarily rewarding than running ads and products convert at a significantly greater speed than an affiliate product that somebody else created. The service I use to ease this can be Payhip, and in this post I’ll be discussing what I both like and dislike about the ceremony based in my Payhip experience for a seller for two + years. Payhip
My Payhip Experience
If you wanted to sell products Through your own site, you’ll need a way to facilitate trades — some sort of infrastructure that will allow a customer to select your product, cover it, and also have it immediately delivered to them with complete hands-off automation. Payhip solves this issue.
What is Payhip?
Payhip is An e-commerce platform/website that gives customers with solutions and the easiest tools for promoting products to their customers and hosting online.
The Provider Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is now based in my capital city of London.
What are the benefits of using Payhip?
Each online Platform is different, and I have used a few of these previously.
Having A stage that is so easy to use and one that doesn’t require a huge amount of my time that is precious is of paramount significance.
Payhip will Save a great deal of time also because everything is taken care of on the Payhip platform.
The Benefits that I’ve gained the most from using Payhip include –
- EU VAT is taken care of, and it can be a big plus in my book.
- Affordable. The website takes zero fees asides From 5 percent per trade when you sell a item that is digital.
- Accessibility to analytics accounts.

What I Enjoy About Payhip
Let us get to the information. Following my 2+ year Payhip experience, here’s what I love about the service…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let us your customers pay with PayPal Or by credit/debit card using Stripe, and they don’t pay out monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait for them to clear some kind of holding period. When a customer makes a purchase, the money is immediately available on your accounts, and in case you’ve got the PayPal and Stripe apps installed on your mobile device, you’ll get notifications each time a sale occurs. Payhip
I happen to appreciate this. The excitement of Seeing a sale that is brand new never gets old. It’s also good to awake in the morning, reach for your phone, and see that you made X number of dollars while you’re sleeping, and it is all readily available for you to spend. The caveat to this is Stripe. If your customers card with Stripe, there’ll be a 3 day hold before the money is available. This is all Stripe though — Payhip doesn’t hold your cash at all.
No Monthly Fees
Among the things that Payhip initially sold me is that there is no Monthly fees or installation charges — only a simple flat fee of 5 percent per sale.
This was appealing to me back in 2016 Since, at the time, my readership was 1/10th of what it’s now, and I wasn’t positive I was likely to consistently sell enough product to warrant paying a monthly fee to get a similar service such as Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger with a little audience, Payhip was the no-risk solution that best match my situation.
Simple To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an page That lets you see trades and earnings quantities relative to the day, week, month, year, or some other specified range. Best of all, it is a report that is straightforward and to-the-point.
If you have used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of information you’re immediately smacked in the face can be a bit overwhelming, and a lot of it’s mostly useless too. Payhip just gives you what you’re there to view — sales data. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another advantage users of Payhip encounter is Promotions to conduct by creating coupon codes.
The codes may be Enjoy and for any (or all) products. They could run for whatever duration you’d like (or even indefinitely,) along with the code itself can even be customized to whatever series of text you desire.
I’ve found this to be helpful. Sometimes I will run a weekend marketing, post it on Facebook, then raise the post targeting a pixel audience and I don’t fail to go ROI positive with it. People really do respond to limited time offers. Payhip
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip Provides you the ability to let your Readers register as an affiliate of your shop, and you can award them a commission of whatever percentage you’d like someone buys a product with their custom affiliate link.
This is useful because it allows other people To sell your products for you, the commissions paid will be well worth it and if they have an audience of their own and a platform they can tap into.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You will be if you’re into email marketing Able to easily integrate Payhip along with your chosen email marketing supplier so that a purchase is made, the email address of the purchaser could be added to a list that is chosen.
That is relatively minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I want to give it a mention — if you desire, you’ll have Payhip stamp the purchaser’s email address to the top left corner of each page of a PDF document they’ve purchased.
So if someone intends to buy your PDF Book make it publicly accessible for free they will need to be fine with their email address being available. I believe that is a way of deterring pirating.
Upload Many Kinds of Files
Payhip isn’t Only a market for ebooks — It’s possible to upload just about any kind of file. Font documents, video/audio documents, photographs, software, etc..
Overall Simplicity and Modern Design
One thing that can not be overlooked whenever You are selling something is how current your website looks. People generally don’t trust myself included. If a website looks like it hasn’t been upgraded because the net 2.0 days, I start to wonder if maybe I am in an abandoned construction and putting my payment info to it’d pretty much be just like throwing my money into a black hole.
That is not the case with Payhip though. The Site has a layout that is very modern and simple. If you should buy a digital product on the internet, this is exactly what you would expect a checkout page by a business. Payhip
Another thing that I enjoy about Payhip is its In general simplicity. From the a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip remains out of the way. They display your images, sales copy, and just the crucial info (such as price.) They do nothing to interfere with your sale — no self-promotion whatsoever.
Finally, what I really enjoy about Payhip is That customer payment information isn’t stored by them, meaning that your customers’ payment details are secure. The payment is totally handled through PayPal or Stripe, and I prefer it this way as they are big companies with a lot of money.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I like Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some items that I dislike about the ceremony and would like to see enhanced…
No Mobile App
One thing that bugs me about Payhip is that They don’t possess a program. It would be convenient to be able to start an app while I’m out and around, and take a look through my earnings data. You do so and can log in to the site, but the website isn’t even optimized for mobile devices.
I like Payhip, but that is a really Lousy look in 2018. There is no reason you should not have a site optimized for mobile, and once you have that, you should be able to easily turn the site itself into it’s own app so users do not have to manually sign in every time they would like to check sales data. Users of Payhip experience a better platform when they are on their devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d really like to see an capability to indicate Other products similar to what the client is about to buy. By way of example, if they’re buying a bundle of templates for $5, I suggest some other similar product which could interest them they didn’t know about, or might provide a bundle of business card templates for a few bucks. This is something which websites like VistaPrint and Amazon do.
I can’t help but feel like there is a Great Deal of money being left on the Table — for both myself and Payhip — with no operation. This may enhance the Payhip encounter for both the vendor and the customer.
Set On A Fixed Timezone
This one is largely frivolous, but I’d still Prefer to see it fixed.
Considering that Payhip is located at London, they have The working timezone for the whole site place to BST. Since I’m located in the EST, I will occasionally check my stats at 7PM or afterwards and see that I left 0 earnings for the day since Payhip believes it’s midnight and its own information reflects that.
This is mostly a non-issue, however I Would love to see that the capability to adjust the website. Payhip
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the coupon It’s not perfect, although code feature earlier.
As it now stands, the only promotion You’re able to run through a coupon code is for a percent off. Ideally, I’d love to have the ability to supply a dollar amount to set a sale price that is predetermined.
At the moment, if I Need to place a $27 product Available for $10, I have to break out the calculator and manually do the math to determine what percentage off would render the price. I think that is unnecessary and may be made better.
When creating A new product in Payhip, you also have access to innovative options which include —
- Make your product private.
- Add an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) for your eBook.
- Upload a sample or preview pages.
- To the number of copies of market or your product could be add a limit amount sold.
- Generate a unique license key .
Just how much does this cost?
Payhip will Cost you nothing to establish or host your electronic products. The website takes just 5 percent commission per trade fee.
Can I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after 2years as a vendor on Payhip, would you recommend it? Overall, yes. I am very much a customer, but whether you should use it depends on your own situation.
If you are a new blogger with a small audience And you can not justify spending $10+ a month to get something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. But if you market a merchandise that is high-ticket or have a massive audience and know that you’ll do at least $ 1,000 in sales every month, you may want to check into something most cost-efficient.
As of this date of the writing, Payhip functions On a set fee of 5% of each sale. Gumroad’s fee is now 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 a month.
If you’re going to be promoting $1,000 per month in total volume, the math should (in most cases) favor Payhip. But if you’re selling well into the thousands, you want to go with Gumroad or start looking into some choice. This is mostly dependent on how many transactions it takes to reach those sales numbers though, so make sure to crunch the numbers.
Personally, I absolutely love the Payhip Expertise and am really grateful for their services. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. Payhip
