Intro Rob Colton Payhip
Of All of the ways of Creating blog content, my Strategy is Like learning design templates and materials, to create and sell products. I’ve discovered that it is extraordinarily more rewarding than running ads from networks like AdSense, and products convert at a higher speed than an affiliate product that someone else created. The service I use to facilitate this is Payhip, and this post I will be discussing what I both like and dislike about the service based on my Payhip expertise for a vendor for two + years. Rob Colton Payhip
My Payhip Expertise
If you wanted to sell digital products Through your own website, you are going to need a way to facilitate trades — some sort of infrastructure which will enable a customer to select your goods, cover it, and also have it immediately delivered to them with complete hands-off automation. Payhip solves this issue.
Payhip is An e-commerce platform/website that provides customers with the tools and options for promoting electronic products to their customers and hosting online.
The company Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is currently based in my capital city of London.
Which are the advantages of using Payhip?
Each online Platform is different, and I’ve used a few of them previously.
For me, having A stage that is really simple to use and one that doesn’t require a huge amount of my valuable time is of utmost significance.
Payhip will Save you a lot of time too because everything is taken care of on the Payhip platform.
The Advantages that I’ve gained the most from utilizing Payhip include –
- EU VAT is cared for, and it is a huge plus in my book.
- Affordable. The site takes zero charges asides From 5 percent per transaction when you sell a product that is digital.
- Accessibility to analytics reports.
- Access to advertising tools. You have the option to create Societal and Coupons discounts.

What I Like About Payhip
Let us get to the information. After my two + year Payhip experience, Here Is What I love about the ceremony…
Upgrades Are Instantaneous
Payhip let us your customers pay with PayPal Or by credit/debit card using Stripe, and they don’t cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait around for them to clean some sort of holding period. When a customer makes a purchase, the cash is immediately available on your account, and in case you’ve got the PayPal and Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you are going to receive notifications each time a sale happens. Rob Colton Payhip
I happen to appreciate this. The excitement of Seeing a new sale never gets older. It’s also great to wake up in the morning, reach to your telephone, and see you made X amount of dollars while you’re sleeping, and it is all readily available for you to spend. The caveat to this is Stripe. If your clients pays by card with Stripe, there will be a 3 day hold before the cash is available. This is all Stripe though — Payhip does not hold your money at all.
No Monthly Charges
One of the things that Payhip originally sold me is that there’s no Monthly fees or setup charges — just a simple flat fee of 5% per sale.
This was attractive to me Since, at the moment, my readership was 1/10th of what it’s now, and I was not positive that I was likely to always sell enough product to justify paying a monthly fee for a similar service like Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger having a small crowd, Payhip was the quickest solution that best fit my situation.
Easy To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an page That lets you see trades and earnings quantities relative to the day, month, week, year, or some other specified range. On top of that, it is a to-the-point and straightforward report.
If you used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the number of data you’re instantly smacked in the face can be somewhat overwhelming, and lots of it is mostly useless also. Payhip just gives you what you’re there to view — revenue information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another advantage users of Payhip experience is By creating coupon codes, promotions to conduct.
The codes may be Enjoy and for any (or all) products. They can run for whatever duration you’d like (or even permanently,) along with the code itself may even be customized to whatever string of text you would like.
I have found this to be helpful. Sometimes I’ll conduct a weekend promotion, post it on Facebook, then boost the article targeting a pixel audience and I don’t fail to go ROI positive by it. People really do respond to limited time offers. Rob Colton Payhip
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip gives you the capability to let your Readers register as an affiliate of your store, and if someone purchases a product with their customized affiliate link, you are able to grant them a commission of whatever percentage you would like.
This is useful because it allows other Men and Women To market your merchandise for you, the commissions paid will be well worth it and if they have an audience of their own and a platform they can tap to.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You will be if you are into advertising Able to easily incorporate Payhip with your email advertising provider so that whenever a sale is made, the email address of the purchaser could be added to a list.
This is minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I wish to give it a reference — if you so desire, you can have Payhip postage the buyer’s email address into the top left corner of every page of a PDF document they have bought.
So if someone plans to buy your PDF Book then make it publicly accessible for free they will have to be fine with their email address being publicly accessible. I think that’s a very creative way of deterring pirating.
Upload Most Sorts of Files
Payhip is not Only a marketplace for ebooks — It’s possible to upload just about any kind of digital file. Font documents, video/audio documents, photos, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
1 thing that can not be overlooked whenever You’re selling something is the way current your site looks. Individuals generally don’t trust sites which appear obsolete, myself included. If a site looks like it hasn’t been upgraded since the web 2.0 days, I begin to wonder if perhaps I am in an abandoned building and putting my payment information into it’d pretty much be like throwing my money into a black hole.
That’s not the case with Payhip though. The Website has a layout. This is what you would expect a checkout page from a trustworthy business to look like, if you should buy a digital merchandise on the internet. Rob Colton Payhip
Another thing I enjoy about Payhip is its own In general simplicity. From the a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip remains out of the way. They display your graphics, sales copy, and only the crucial info (such as price.) They do nothing to interfere with your purchase — no self-promotion whatsoever.
Eventually, what I actually enjoy about Payhip is That they don’t store customer payment info, meaning your clients’ payment details are safe. The payment is completely handled through PayPal or Stripe, and I prefer it this way because they are large companies with lots of cash to invest on security.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I like Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some items that I dislike about the service and would like to see improved…
No Mobile App
One thing that bugs me about Payhip is that They don’t have a app. It’d be convenient to be able to start an app while I’m out and around, and have a look during my sales data. The website isn’t optimized for mobile devices, although you may log into the site and do so.
I like Payhip, but that is a really Bad appearance in 2018. There’s no reason you should not have a website optimized for mobile, and once you have that, you should be able to easily turn the site itself right into it’s own program so users do not have to manually sign in every time they want to check sales information. Users of Payhip experience a platform when they are on their devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d like to see an Extra ability to suggest Other products similar to what the client is going to purchase. If they’re buying a bundle of templates for $5, I could offer a package of business card templates or propose some other similar product that could interest them that they previously didn’t know about. This is something which websites like Amazon and VistaPrint do well.
I can’t help but feel like there is a lot of money Table — for myself and Payhip — with no functionality. This may enhance the Payhip encounter for both the client and the vendor.
Set On A Fixed Timezone
This one is frivolous, but I had still Prefer to see it fixed.
Considering that Payhip is located at London, they have The timezone for the whole site place to BST. Since I am found in the EST, I’ll occasionally check my stats at 7PM or later and see that I made 0 earnings for the day since Payhip believes it is midnight and its information reveals that.
This is mostly a non-issue, however I Would love to observe that the ability to correct the website to your timezone. Rob Colton Payhip
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the voucher Code feature but it’s not perfect yet.
As it stands, the sole advertising You can run through a voucher code. I’d like to have the ability to supply a dollar amount off the initial cost, or the capability to set a sale price that is specified.
Right Now, if I Need to put a $27 product Available for $10, do the math to figure out what percent off will render the last cost and I have to break out the calculator. I think this is unnecessary and may be made better.
When creating A new product in Payhip, you also have access to advanced options which include —
- Make your merchandise personal.
- Insert an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) for your eBook.
- Publish a preview or sample pages.
- To the number of copies of your product or eBook could be Insert a limitation amount sold.
- Generate a exceptional license key .
How much does this cost?
Payhip will Cost you nothing to establish or even host your digital products. The site takes only 5% commission per transaction fee.
Would I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after two + years as a vendor on Payhip, do you recommend it? Overall, yes. I am very much a client, but whether or not you should use it depends on your own situation.
If you are a blogger with a small audience And you can’t justify spending $10+ a month for something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. In case you know that you’ll be doing at least $ 1,000 in sales each month and market a product that is high-ticket or have a huge audience, you may want to check into something most cost-efficient.
As of the date of the writing, Payhip works On a flat fee of 5% of each sale. Gumroad’s fee is currently 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 a month.
If you are going to be promoting $1,000 per month in total quantity, the mathematics should (typically ) prefer Payhip. But if you’re selling well into the thousands, you’ll probably need to decide on Gumroad or start looking into some other choice. This is all dependent on the number of transactions it requires to reach those sales numbers, however, so make sure to crunch the numbers for yourself.
Personally, I absolutely love the Payhip Expertise and am thankful for their services. I would like to see them continue to grow and succeed. Rob Colton Payhip
