Background Sell Media Online
Of All of the ways of monetizing blog content, my Strategy is Like studying materials and design templates to make and sell digital products. I have found that it’s extraordinarily more rewarding than running ads from networks such as AdSense, and self explanatory products convert at a significantly higher rate compared to an affiliate product that somebody else created. The support I use to facilitate this can be Payhip, and in this post I’ll be sharing what I like and dislike about the ceremony based in my Payhip experience for a seller for two + years. My Payhip Experience
If you wanted to sell digital products Through your own website, you’ll need a way to facilitate trades — some kind of infrastructure which will enable a customer to select your goods, pay for it, and have it immediately delivered to them with whole hands-off automation. Payhip solves this issue.
What is Payhip?
Payhip is An e-commerce platform/website that provides customers with solutions and the tools for promoting digital products to their clients and hosting online.
The Provider Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is currently based in my capital city of London.
What are the benefits of using Payhip?
Each online Platform differs, and I’ve used a few of them in the past.
Having A stage that is simple to use and one that does not take a huge amount of my time is of paramount importance.
Payhip will Save a great deal of time also because everything is taken care of on the Payhip platform.
The Advantages that I’ve gained the most from using Payhip comprise –
- EU VAT is cared for, and it is a big plus in my book.
- Affordable. The site takes zero fees asides From 5 percent per transaction when you sell a item.
- Access to analytics accounts.
- Access to advertising tools. You have the option to make Social and coupons discounts.
- Ability to signup, handle and reward your affiliates.
- Access to product sharing tools. Plus you can embed Buy and your merchandise Now buttons directly on your own website or blog.
- The Capacity to set mailing lists so that your clients can Subscribe and remain up to date with your digital products, and more.
- Immediate digital product shipping via email link for customers.
What I Enjoy About Payhip
Let us get to the information. After my two year Payhip expertise, here’s what I love about the ceremony…
Upgrades Are Instantaneous
Payhip let’s your customers pay with PayPal Or by credit/debit card using Stripe, plus they don’t cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait for them to clear some kind of holding period. When a client makes a purchase, the cash is immediately available on your accounts, and if you have the PayPal and Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you are going to get notifications whenever a sale occurs. I happen to love this. The excitement of Seeing a sale never gets old. In addition, it is great to awake in the morning, reach to your telephone, and see you made X number of dollars while you were sleeping, and it’s all easily available for you to spend. The only caveat to this is Stripe. If your clients card using Stripe, there will be a 3 day hold until the money is available. That is all Stripe however — Payhip doesn’t hold your cash in any way.
No Monthly Fees
One of those things that Payhip initially sold me is that there’s no Monthly charges or setup charges — just a simple flat charge of 5 percent per sale.
This was appealing to me back in 2016 Because, at the time, my readership was less than 1/10th of what it’s now, and I was not positive I was going to always sell enough product to justify paying a monthly fee to get a similar service such as Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger with a little crowd, Payhip was the no-risk solution that best match my scenario.
Simple To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an analytics page That enables you to view transactions and earnings quantities relative to this day, week, month, year, or some other specified range. On top of that, it’s a report that is very simple and to-the-point.
If you have ever used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of information you are instantly smacked in the face with can be a bit overwhelming, and lots of it is largely useless too. Payhip just gives you exactly what you are there to view — sales information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip experience is Promotions to conduct by producing coupon codes.
The codes may be Enjoy and for any (or all) products. They can run for any duration you’d like (or even permanently,) along with the code itself can even be customized to whatever string of text you desire.
I’ve found this to be useful. Occasionally I’ll run a weekend marketing, place it on Facebook, then raise the article targeting a pixel audience that is re-marketing and I never fail to go ROI positive by it. People really do respond to limited time offers. Sell Media Online
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip Provides you the ability to let your Readers sign up as an affiliate of your shop, and you can award someone purchases a product with their customized affiliate link.
This is useful since it allows people To sell your merchandise and should they have a platform and an audience of their own they can tap to, the commissions paid will be worth it.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You will be, if you’re into email advertising Able to incorporate Payhip with your email marketing supplier that is preferred so that whenever a purchase is made, the email address of the purchaser can be added into a chosen list.
This is relatively small but I think it’s Pretty cool so I want to give it a reference — if you desire, you can have Payhip stamp the purchaser’s email address to the upper left corner of each page of a PDF document they have bought.
So if someone intends to Purchase Your PDF Book make it accessible for free somewhere else, they’ll need to be fine with their private email address being publicly available. I believe that is a way of deterring pirating.
Upload Most Sorts of Files
Payhip is a market for ebooks — You can upload any sort of electronic file. Font files, video/audio documents, photos, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
1 thing that can’t be overlooked whenever You’re selling something is how current your site appears. People generally do not trust myself included. If a site looks like it hasn’t been updated since the net 2.0 times, then I start to wonder if maybe I’m in an abandoned construction and putting my payment information to it would pretty much be like throwing my money into a black hole.
That is not the case with Payhip though. The Site has a easy and very modern design. In the event that you should buy a digital product on the internet, this is exactly what you would anticipate a checkout page from a trustworthy company to look like. Sell Media Online
Another thing I like about Payhip is its Overall simplicity. From the a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip remains out of the way. They display your graphics, sales copy, and only the critical information (like price.) They do nothing to interfere with your sale — no.
Eventually, what I enjoy about Payhip is That they do not store customer payment info, meaning your customers’ payment details are safe. The payment is managed through PayPal or Stripe, and I prefer it that way as they’re big companies with a lot of cash.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I like Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some items that I dislike about the ceremony and would like to see improved…
No Mobile App
1 thing that bugs me about Payhip is that They don’t have a program. It’d be convenient to have the ability to open an app and have a look through my sales data while I’m out and about. The site isn’t optimized for mobile devices, although you do so and can log into the website.
I like Payhip, but this is a really Lousy look in 2018. There is no reason you shouldn’t have a site optimized for cellular, and once you have that, you ought to be able to easily turn the site itself into it’s own app so users don’t need to manually register in each time they would like to check sales information. Users of Payhip experience a much better platform when they’re on their devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d like to see an added capability to indicate Other products. If they are buying a bundle of templates for $5, I suggest some other similar product which may interest them they didn’t know about, or could offer a package of business card templates for a couple of dollars. This is something which sites like Amazon and VistaPrint do well.
I can not help but feel like there’s a Great Deal of money being left on the Table — for myself and Payhip — with no operation. This may improve the Payhip experience for both the seller and the customer.
Establish On A Fixed Timezone
This one is largely frivolous, but I Prefer to see it fixed.
Since Payhip is located in London, they have The working timezone for the site set to BST. Since I’m found in the EST, I will occasionally check my stats at 7PM or later and see that I left 0 sales for the day because Payhip believes it’s midnight and its own information reveals that.
This is a non-issue, but I Would like to observe that the ability to adjust the website. Sell Media Online
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the coupon Code feature but it’s not quite perfect.
As it now stands, the only advertising You’re able to run via a coupon code is to get a percent off. Ideally, I’d love to be able to offer a dollar amount off the price, or the capability to set a sale price.
At the moment, if I want to place a $27 product On sale for $10, I have to break out the calculator and manually do the math to figure out what percent off would leave the price. I think that is unnecessary and may be improved.
When creating A new product in Payhip, you also have access to innovative alternatives which include —
- Make your merchandise private.
- Insert an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) for your eBook.
- Upload a couple of sample or preview pages.
- Add a limitation number sold.
- Create a license key for all your product/eBook revenue.
Just how much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you to set up or even host your products. The site takes only 5 percent commission per trade fee.
Would I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after two + years as a seller on Payhip, would you recommend it? Overall, yes. I am a satisfied customer, but whether you ought to use it depends upon your own situation.
If you are a blogger with a small audience And you can’t justify spending $10+ per month for something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. In case you sell a merchandise that is high-ticket or have a huge audience and know you’ll do at least $ 1,000 in sales each month, you might want to look into something.
As of the date of the writing, Payhip works On a flat fee of 5% of every sale. Gumroad’s fee is now 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 a month.
If you’re going to be selling $1,000 a month in total quantity, the mathematics should (in most cases) prefer Payhip. But if you are selling into the thousands, you are probably going to want to decide on Gumroad or start looking into another alternative. This is largely dependent on the number of transactions it requires to reach those sales numbers so make certain that you crunch the numbers on your own.
Personally, I absolutely love the Payhip Experience and am very thankful for their services. I would like to see them continue to grow and succeed. Sell Media Online
