Background Sell My Digital Books
Of all the ways of monetizing blog Articles, my method is Like learning materials and design templates to create and sell digital products. I have discovered that it’s extraordinarily more profitable than running advertisements and self-made products convert at a much greater rate than an affiliate product that somebody else created. The service I use to facilitate this can be Payhip, and this post I will be discussing what I both like and dislike about the service based in my Payhip experience for a vendor for two + years. My Payhip Expertise
If you have ever wanted to market digital products Through your own site, you are going to need a means to facilitate transactions — some kind of infrastructure which will enable a customer to select your goods, pay for it, and also have it instantaneously delivered to them with complete hands-off automation. Payhip solves this issue.
What is Payhip?
Payhip is An e-commerce platform/website that gives users with the easiest tools and options for hosting and promoting products directly to their clients online.
The company Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is currently based in my capital city of London.
Which are the benefits of utilizing Payhip?
Each online Platform differs, and I’ve used a couple of them in the past.
For me, having A stage that is easy to use and one that does not require a huge amount of my time that is valuable is of paramount significance.
Payhip will Save a great deal of time also because everything is taken care of on the Payhip platform.
The Advantages that I’ve gained the most from utilizing Payhip include –
- EU VAT is taken care of, which is a big plus in my book.
- Affordable. The website takes zero fees asides From 5 percent per trade when you sell a product.
- Access to analytics reports.

What I Enjoy About Payhip
Let us get to the details. Following my 2+ year Payhip expertise, here’s what I really like about the service…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let’s your customers pay with PayPal Or by credit/debit card with Stripe, plus they don’t pay out monthly/weekly/quarterly or force you to wait for them to clear some sort of holding period. When a client makes a purchase, the cash is immediately available in your account, and in case you have the PayPal and Stripe apps installed on your mobile device, you are going to receive notifications each time a sale occurs. I happen to love this. The excitement of Seeing a sale that is new never gets older. In addition, it is great to awake in the morning, reach for your telephone, and also see you made X number of dollars while you were sleeping, and it is all easily available for you to spend. The only caveat to this is Stripe. If your clients card using Stripe, there’ll be a three day hold before the cash is available. That is Stripe though — Payhip doesn’t hold your cash at all.
No Monthly Fees
One of those things that Payhip initially sold me is that there is no Monthly charges or installation charges — only a simple flat charge of 5 percent per purchase .
This was appealing to me back in 2016 Since, at the moment, my readership was 1/10th of what it is now, and I was not positive I was going to always sell enough product to justify paying a monthly fee to get a similar service such as Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger with a small audience, Payhip was the no-risk solution that best fit my situation.
Simple To Understand Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an page That lets you see trades and earnings amounts relative to this day, week, month, year, or any other given selection. On top of that, it’s a report that is to-the-point and very straightforward.
If you used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of information you are immediately smacked in the face with can be somewhat overwhelming, and a lot of it is mostly useless also. Payhip just provides you what you are there to see — revenue information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip encounter is The capacity to conduct promotions.
The codes can be Like and for any (or all) products. They could run for any length you’d like (or even indefinitely,) along with the code itself may even be customized to whatever string of text you desire.
I have found this to be somewhat useful. Sometimes I’ll run a weekend marketing, place it on Facebook, then boost the post targeting a pixel audience and I don’t fail to go ROI positive with it. People truly do respond well to limited time offers. Sell My Digital Books
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip Provides you the capability to let your Readers sign up as an affiliate of your shop, and you are able to award them a commission of whatever percent you’d like whenever someone buys a product with their customized affiliate link.
This is useful because it allows Men and Women To market your products for you, the commissions paid will be worthwhile and if they have an audience of their own and a platform they can tap into.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You will be if you are into email advertising Able to readily incorporate Payhip with your email marketing provider that is chosen so that a sale is made, the email address of the purchaser can be added into a chosen listing.
That is relatively minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I want to give it a reference — if you so desire, you’ll have Payhip postage the buyer’s email address to the upper left corner of every page of a PDF document they have purchased.
So if someone intends to Purchase Your PDF Publication subsequently make it accessible for free somewhere else, they will have to be fine with their email address being available as well. I think that is a creative means of deterring pirating.
Upload Many Sorts of Files
Payhip is a market for ebooks — You can upload any sort of digital file. Font documents, video/audio documents, photographs, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
One thing that can’t be overlooked whenever You are selling something is your website looks. People generally do not trust websites that appear outdated, myself included. If a website looks like it hasn’t been upgraded because the web 2.0 days, I start to wonder if maybe I’m in an abandoned construction and placing my payment information to it would pretty much be just like throwing my money into a black hole.
That’s not the case with Payhip though. The Site has a layout that is very modern and simple. This is exactly what you would expect a checkout page from a company, if you were to buy a digital merchandise on the world wide web. Sell My Digital Books
Another thing I like about Payhip is its In general simplicity. In the moment a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip remains out of the way. They display your graphics, sales copy, and only the critical information (such as price.) They do absolutely nothing to interfere with your sale — no.
Eventually, what I actually like about Payhip is That they do not store customer payment info, meaning that your clients’ payment details are safe. The payment is managed through Stripe or PayPal, and I prefer it that way because they’re successful companies with a lot of cash.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I like Payhip, it is far from perfect. Here are some items that I dislike about the ceremony and would like to see improved…
No Mobile App
One thing that bugs me around Payhip is that They do not possess a program. It would be convenient to have the ability to start an app and take a look through my data while I’m out and about. You can log into the site and do this, but the website isn’t even optimized for mobile devices.
I like Payhip, but this is a very Lousy look in 2018. There’s no reason you shouldn’t have a website optimized for mobile, and once you have that, you should be able to easily turn the website itself into it’s own program so users don’t have to manually sign in every time they want to check sales data. Permit users of Payhip encounter a platform when they’re on their devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d like to see an ability to suggest Other products. For example, if they are purchasing a bundle of templates for $5, I could provide a bundle of business card templates or suggest some other product that may interest them they didn’t know about. This is something which sites like Amazon and VistaPrint do.
I can’t help but feel like there is a Great Deal of money Table — for myself and Payhip — with no functionality. This could improve the Payhip experience for both the customer and the seller.
Establish On A Fixed Timezone
This one is largely frivolous, but I Like to see it corrected.
Since Payhip is located at London, they have BST was place to by the timezone for the website. Since I’m found in the EST, I’ll sometimes check my stats at 7PM or later and see that I made 0 earnings for the day because Payhip believes it is midnight and its information reflects that.
Again, this is largely a non-issue, however I Would like to observe the capability to adjust the website. Sell My Digital Books
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the voucher Code feature but it’s not quite perfect yet.
As it stands, the advertising You’re able to run through a voucher code is to get a percent off. Ideally, I’d love to be able to supply a dollar amount to set a predetermined sale price.
Right Now, if I want to place a merchandise that is $27 On sale for $10, manually do the math to determine what percentage off would leave the price and I must break out the calculator. I believe this is unnecessary and could be made better.
When creating A brand new product in Payhip, you have access to innovative alternatives which include —
- Make your merchandise private.
- Insert an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) for your eBook.
- Publish a couple of preview or sample pages.
- Add a limitation amount to how many copies of your product or market could be sold.
- Generate a license key that is unique for each of your product/eBook revenue.
How much does this cost?
Payhip will Cost you to set up or even host your electronic products. The site takes just 5% commission per trade fee.
Can I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after 2years as a vendor on Payhip, do you recommend it? Overall, yes. I am very much a customer, but whether or not you should use it depends on your own situation.
If you’re a new blogger with a small audience And you can not justify spending $10+ per month for something like Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. However, in case you know you’ll do at least $ 1,000 in sales each month and sell a merchandise that is high-ticket or have a massive audience, you might want to look into something.
As of this date of this writing, Payhip works On a set fee of 5% of every sale. Gumroad’s fee is currently 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 a month.
If you are going to be promoting less than $1,000 per month in total volume, the math should (in most cases) favor Payhip. But if you are selling into the thousands, you’ll probably want to go with Gumroad or start looking into another choice. That is largely dependent on the number of transactions it requires to reach those sales numbers, however, so make sure that you crunch the numbers.
Personally, I absolutely love the Payhip Expertise and am very grateful for their solutions. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. Sell My Digital Books
