Of all the ways of Creating content, my favorite method is To make and sell digital products such as learning materials and layout templates. I’ve found that it is extraordinarily rewarding than running ads and self-made products convert at a significantly greater speed than an affiliate product that somebody else created. The service I use to facilitate this is Payhip, and in this post I’ll be discussing what I like and dislike about the ceremony based in my Payhip expertise as a seller for 2+ years. Sell
My Payhip Expertise
If you have ever wanted to sell products Through your own website, you are going to need a way to facilitate transactions — some sort of infrastructure that will allow a customer to select your product, cover it, and have it instantaneously delivered to them with whole hands-off automation. Payhip solves this issue.
Payhip is An that provides customers with solutions and the tools for hosting and promoting electronic products directly to their customers online.
The Provider Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is now based in my capital city of London.
What are the advantages of utilizing Payhip?
Each online Platform differs, and I have used a couple of them in the past.
Having A platform that is easy to use and one that doesn’t require a massive amount of my time that is valuable is of paramount importance.
Payhip will Save you a great deal of time because everything is cared for on the Payhip platform.
The Benefits that I’ve gained the most from using Payhip comprise –
- EU VAT is cared for, and it is a huge plus in my book.
- Affordable. The site takes zero fees asides From 5 percent per trade when you sell a digital item.
- Access to analytics reports.
- Access to advertising tools. You have the option to create Societal and coupons discounts.

What I Like About Payhip
Let’s get to the details. After my 2+ year Payhip expertise, Here Is What I really like about the ceremony…
Upgrades Are Instantaneous
Payhip let’s your customers pay with PayPal Or from credit/debit card using Stripe, plus they do not cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait for them to clear some kind of holding period. When a client makes a purchase, the money is immediately available in your account, and if you have the PayPal and also Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you are going to get notifications each time a sale occurs. Sell
I happen to appreciate this. The excitement of Seeing a sale never gets old. In addition, it is great to awake in the morning, reach for your phone, and see you made X number of dollars while you’re sleeping, and it’s all readily available for you to spend. The only caveat to this can be Stripe. If your customers pays by card with Stripe, there will be a three day hold before the money is available. That is Stripe though — Payhip doesn’t hold your money at all.
No Monthly Fees
Among the things that Payhip initially sold me on is that there’s no Monthly charges or installation charges — just a simple flat fee of 5% per sale.
This was attractive to me in 2016 Since, at the time, my readership was less than 1/10th of what it is now, and I was not positive I was going to consistently sell enough product to warrant paying a monthly fee to get a similar service like Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger with a small crowd, Payhip was the quickest solution that best match my scenario.
Simple To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an page That enables you to see transactions and earnings amounts relative to the day, month, week, year, or any other specified selection. On top of that, it is a report that is to-the-point and really simple.
If you have used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of data you’re immediately smacked in the face can be somewhat overwhelming, and lots of it’s mostly useless too. Payhip just provides you what you are there to view — sales data. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip encounter is By producing coupon codes promotions to run.
The codes may be Like and for any (or all) products. They can run for whatever duration you want (or even permanently,) and the code itself may even be customized to whatever string of text you would like.
I’ve found this to be useful. Sometimes I’ll conduct a weekend promotion, place it on Facebook boost the article targeting a pixel re-marketing audience and I never fail to go ROI positive with it. People really do respond well to limited time offers. Sell
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip gives you the ability Readers sign up as an affiliate of your shop, and you are able to grant, whenever someone buys a product with their customized affiliate link.
This is useful because it allows people To sell your products and if they have a platform and an audience of their own they can tap to, the commissions paid will be well worthwhile.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
If you are into advertising, you will be Able to readily integrate Payhip along with your preferred email marketing supplier so that whenever a purchase is made, the buyer’s email address can be added into a chosen list.
This is minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I wish to give it a reference — if you so desire, you’ll have Payhip stamp the purchaser’s email address into the upper left corner of each page of a PDF document they’ve purchased.
So if someone intends to buy your PDF Book subsequently make it available for free they will need to be fine with their email address being publicly available as well. I think that is a way of deterring pirating.
Upload Most Kinds of Files
Payhip isn’t Only a marketplace for ebooks — It’s possible to upload any sort of electronic file. Font files, video/audio documents, photographs, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
One thing that can not be overlooked whenever You are selling something is your website looks. Individuals don’t trust myself included. If a site looks like it has not been updated since the net 2.0 days, I begin to wonder if maybe I am in an abandoned construction and putting my payment info into it would pretty much be just like throwing my money into a black hole.
That is not the case with Payhip though. The Site has a easy and very modern layout. In the event that you should purchase a product on the internet, this is what you would expect a checkout page from a company to appear like. Sell
Another thing that I like about Payhip is its Overall simplicity. In the a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip remains out of the way. They display your graphics, sales copy, and just the critical information (like price.) They do nothing to interfere with your sale — no self-promotion whatsoever.
Eventually, what I enjoy about Payhip is That customer payment info isn’t stored by them, meaning that your clients’ payment details are secure. The payment is completely managed through PayPal or Stripe, and I prefer it that way as they are successful companies with a lot of cash to invest on security.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I enjoy Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some things that I dislike about the service and would like to see improved…
No Mobile App
1 thing that bugs me around Payhip is that They don’t have a mobile program. It would be convenient to be able to open an app and take a look through my earnings data while I am out and around. You can log into the site and do this, but the website is optimized for mobile devices.
I like Payhip, but this is a really Lousy look in 2018. There is no reason you shouldn’t have a website optimized for mobile, and when you have that, you ought to be able to easily turn the site itself into it’s own program so users don’t need to manually sign in every time they want to check sales information. Users of Payhip experience a better platform when they are on their devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons At Checkout
On the checkout page, I would like to see an Extra ability to suggest Other products. If they’re buying a bundle of logo templates for $5, then I might provide a bundle of business card templates for a couple of bucks, or propose. This is something that sites like Amazon and VistaPrint do.
I can’t help but feel as though there’s a Great Deal of money being left on the Table — for myself and Payhip — without this functionality. This may enhance the Payhip encounter for both the vendor and the client.
Establish On A Fixed Timezone
This one is largely frivolous, but I Prefer to see it fixed.
Since Payhip is located in London, they’ve The timezone for the site place to BST. Since I’m located in the EST, I will sometimes check my analytics at 7PM or later and see that I left 0 sales for the day because Payhip believes it’s midnight and its data reflects that.
Again, this is largely a non-issue, however I Would love to observe the ability to adjust the website. Sell
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the voucher Code feature earlier, but it’s not quite perfect just yet.
As it stands, the only promotion You’re able to run via a coupon code. Ideally, I’d like to be able to supply a dollar amount off the original price, or the capability to set a sale price that is predetermined.
At the moment, if I Need to put a $27 product Available for $10, do the math to determine what percent off will render the price and I have to break out the calculator. I think this is unnecessary and could be made better.
When creating A brand new product in Payhip, you also have access to advanced alternatives which include —
- Make your merchandise personal.
- Insert an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) for your eBook.
- Publish a few preview or sample pages.
- To the number of copies of your product or eBook can be Insert a limit number sold.
- Create a license key that is unique for each of your product/eBook revenue.
How much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you nothing or host your digital products. The site takes only 5% commission per trade fee.
Would I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after two + years as a vendor on Payhip, do you recommend it? Overall, yes. I am very much a customer, but whether or not you ought to use it depends upon your situation.
If you’re a blogger with a small audience And you can not justify spending $10+ per month to get something like Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. If you know that you’ll be doing at least $ 1,000 in sales every month and sell a merchandise or have a huge audience, you might want to look into something most cost effective.
As of the date of this writing, Payhip works On a flat fee of 5 percent of every sale. Gumroad’s fee is currently 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 per month.
If you’re going to be promoting $1,000 per month in total volume, the mathematics should (in most cases) favor Payhip. But if you’re selling well into the thousands, you are probably going to want to go with Gumroad or start looking into some alternative. This is largely dependent on how many transactions it takes to achieve those sales numbers though, so be sure to crunch the numbers on your own.
Personally, I absolutely love the Payhip Experience and am thankful for their solutions. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. Sell
