Background Selling Ebooks On Shopify
Of All of the ways of Creating blog Articles, my method is To make and sell products. I’ve found that it’s extraordinarily rewarding than running advertisements and products convert at a much higher speed compared to an affiliate product that someone else created. The service I use to facilitate this can be Payhip, and this post I’ll be discussing what I like and dislike about the service based on my Payhip experience for a vendor for 2+ years. My Payhip Experience
If you have ever wanted to market products Through your own site, you’ll need a way to facilitate transactions — some kind of infrastructure which will enable a customer to select your goods, pay for it, and also have it instantaneously delivered to them with whole hands-off automation. Payhip solves this problem.
Payhip is An e-commerce platform/website that gives users with solutions and the tools for promoting electronic products straight to their clients and hosting online.
The company Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is currently based in my capital city of London.
Which are the benefits of utilizing Payhip?
Each online Platform is different, and I’ve used a couple of these in the past.
For me personally, having A platform that is really easy to use and one that does not require a huge amount of my time that is valuable is of paramount significance.
Payhip will Save you a great deal of time also because everything is taken care of on the Payhip platform.
The Advantages that I’ve gained the most from utilizing Payhip include –
- EU VAT is taken care of, and it is a huge plus in my book.
- Affordable. The website takes zero charges asides From 5 percent per trade when you sell a item.
- Access to analytics accounts.
- Access to marketing tools. You have the option to create Societal and Coupons discounts.
- Capability to signup, handle and reward your affiliates.
- Access to product sharing tools. Plus it is possible to embed Purchase and your product Now buttons on your site or blog.

What I Like About Payhip
Let us get to the details. After my two + year Payhip expertise, Here Is What I really like about the ceremony…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let’s your customers pay with PayPal Or by credit/debit card using Stripe, plus they don’t cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait around for them to clear some sort of holding period. When a client makes a purchase, the cash is immediately available in your account, and in case you’ve got the PayPal and also Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you are going to receive notifications whenever a sale occurs. I happen to appreciate this. The excitement of Seeing a new sale never gets old. It’s also great to awake in the morning, reach for your telephone, and see that you made X number of dollars while you were sleeping, and it’s all easily available for you to spend. The caveat to this can be Stripe. If your clients card with Stripe, there will be a three day hold before the cash is available. That is all Stripe however — Payhip does not hold your money in any way.
No Monthly Charges
One of the things that Payhip initially sold me on is that there is no Monthly charges or installation charges — only a simple flat charge of 5 percent per sale.
This was appealing to me Since, at the moment, my readership was less than 1/10th of what it’s now, and that I was not positive that I was likely to always sell enough product to warrant paying a monthly fee for a similar service like Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger with a little audience, Payhip was the quickest solution that best fit my scenario.
Simple To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an analytics page That enables you to see trades and earnings quantities relative to this day, month, week, year, or some other specified selection. Best of all, it’s a to-the-point and straightforward report.
If you used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of data you’re immediately smacked in the face can be a bit overwhelming, and lots of it is largely useless too. Payhip just gives you what you are there to view — revenue information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip encounter is By creating coupon codes promotions to run.
The codes can be Enjoy and for any (or all) products. They can run for any duration you’d like (or even indefinitely,) along with the code itself can even be customized to whatever series of text you desire.
I have found this to be very useful. Occasionally I’ll run a weekend promotion, place it on Facebook, then boost the post targeting a pixel re-marketing audience and I never fail to go ROI positive with it. People truly do respond well to limited time offers. Selling Ebooks On Shopify
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip gives you the capability to let your Readers sign up as an affiliate of your store, and you can award them a commission of whatever percent you’d like if someone purchases a product with their customized affiliate link.
This is useful because it allows people To market your merchandise for you, the commissions paid will be worthwhile, and should they have a stage and an audience of their own they can tap into.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You’ll be if you’re into email advertising Able to easily incorporate Payhip with your email advertising provider so that a purchase is made, the purchaser’s email address could be added into a list.
This is minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I wish to give it a mention — if you so desire, you’ll have Payhip stamp the buyer’s email address to the top left corner of each page of a PDF document they have purchased.
So if someone plans to Purchase Your PDF Publication then make it available for free they will have to be fine with their private email address being available. I believe that is a creative way of deterring pirating.
Upload Many Kinds of Files
Payhip is not Only a marketplace for ebooks — You can upload any sort of digital file. Font files, video/audio documents, photos, software, etc..
Overall Simplicity and Modern Design
1 thing that can’t be overlooked whenever You are selling something is your site looks. Individuals generally don’t trust myself included. If a website looks like it hasn’t been upgraded because the net 2.0 days, I begin to wonder if maybe I am in an abandoned construction and putting my payment information into it would pretty much be just like throwing my money into a black hole.
That’s not true with Payhip though. The Site has a design. If you should purchase a product on the world wide web, this is exactly what you would anticipate a checkout page by a business. Selling Ebooks On Shopify
Another thing I enjoy about Payhip is its own Overall simplicity. From the a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip stays out of the way. They display your images, sales copy, and just the crucial info (such as price.) They do absolutely nothing to interfere with your purchase — no self-promotion whatsoever.
Finally, what I really like about Payhip is That they don’t store customer payment information, meaning that your clients’ payment details are secure. The payment is handled through Stripe or PayPal, and I prefer it that way because they are large, successful companies with a lot of cash to spend on security.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I enjoy Payhip, it is far from perfect. Here are some things that I dislike about the service and would like to see improved…
No Mobile App
One thing that bugs me about Payhip is that They don’t possess a app. It would be convenient to be able to open an app while I am out and about, and have a look. You can log in to the site and do so, but the website is optimized for mobile devices.
I enjoy Payhip, but that is a really Bad look in 2018. There is no reason you shouldn’t have a website optimized for mobile, and once you have that, you ought to be able to easily turn the website itself into it’s own program so users do not need to manually sign in every time they would like to check sales data. Users of Payhip experience a much better platform when they’re on their devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d like to see an added ability to indicate Other products. If they are buying a package of templates for $5, I might offer a package of business card templates for a couple of dollars, or suggest some other product which could interest them they didn’t know about. This is something that sites like Amazon and VistaPrint do quite well.
I can not help but feel like there is a lot of money Table — for myself and Payhip — with no functionality. This may enhance the Payhip encounter for both the client and the vendor.
Establish On A Fixed Timezone
This one is largely frivolous, but I Prefer to see it corrected.
Since Payhip is located at London, they have BST was set to by the timezone for the site. Since I’m found in the EST, I’ll occasionally check my stats at 7PM or later and see that I left 0 sales for the day since Payhip believes it is midnight and its information reveals that.
This is a non-issue, however I Would love to see the capability to adjust the website to your timezone. Selling Ebooks On Shopify
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the voucher Code feature earlier, but it’s not perfect just yet.
As it currently stands, the sole promotion You’re able to run via a coupon code. I’d like to have the ability to offer a dollar amount from the initial cost, or the ability to set a sale price.
At the moment, if I want to place a $27 product On sale for $10, manually do the math to figure out what percent off would leave the last price and I have to break out the calculator. I believe this is unnecessary and could be improved.
When creating A new product in Payhip, you have access to advanced options including —
- Make your merchandise personal.
- Add an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) to your eBook.
- Publish a preview or sample pages.
- To the number of copies of market or your product could be, Insert a limit amount sold.
- Generate a unique license key .
How much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you nothing to establish or even host your digital products. The site takes just 5% commission per transaction fee.
Would I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after 2+ years as a vendor on Payhip, do you recommend it? Overall, yes. I am a customer, but whether or not you should use it depends upon your situation.
If you’re a new blogger with a small audience And you can not justify spending $10+ per month to get something like Gumroad, then yes, I would absolutely recommend Payhip. But if you have a huge audience or sell a high-ticket merchandise and know that you’ll do at least $1,000 in sales every month, you might want to check into something most cost effective.
As of the date of the writing, Payhip functions On a set fee of 5% of each sale. Gumroad’s fee is currently 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 a month.
If you are going to be selling $1,000 a month in total quantity, the mathematics should (in most cases) prefer Payhip. But if you’re selling well into the thousands, you are probably going to want to decide on Gumroad or look into another alternative. This is mostly dependent on how many transactions it takes to achieve those sales numbers so make certain that you crunch the numbers for yourself.
Personally, I absolutely love the Payhip Experience and am really thankful for their solutions. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. Selling Ebooks On Shopify
