Background Selling Platform
Of All of the ways of Creating content that is blog, my method is To make and sell electronic products such as learning materials and layout templates. I have found that it is extraordinarily more profitable than running ads and self explanatory products convert at a much greater rate than an affiliate product that somebody else created. The support I use to ease this is Payhip, and in this post I will be sharing what I like and dislike about the service based on my Payhip expertise as a seller for 2+ years. Selling Platform
My Payhip Experience
If you’ve ever wanted to market products Through your own site, you’ll need a way to facilitate trades — some sort of infrastructure that will allow a client to select your goods, pay for it, and have it immediately delivered to them with whole hands-off automation. Payhip solves this issue.
What is Payhip?
Payhip is An e-commerce platform/website that provides customers with solutions and the tools for hosting and selling electronic products straight to their customers online.
The Provider Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is currently based in my capital city of London.
Which are the advantages of utilizing Payhip?
Each online Platform differs, and I’ve used a couple of them in the past.
Having A stage that is easy to use and one that doesn’t require a huge amount of my precious time is of utmost importance.
Payhip will Save you a lot of time because everything is taken care of on the Payhip platform.
The Advantages that I’ve gained the most from using Payhip include –
- EU VAT is taken care of, and it can be a big plus in my book.

What I Enjoy About Payhip
Let’s get to the information. After my two + year Payhip experience, here’s what I love about the service…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let us your customers pay with PayPal Or by credit/debit card using Stripe, plus they do not cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or force you to wait for them to clean some sort of holding period. When a customer makes a purchase, the money is immediately available in your account, and in case you’ve got the PayPal and Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you’ll receive notifications whenever a sale happens. Selling Platform
I happen to appreciate this. The excitement of Seeing a new sale never gets older. In addition, it is good to awake in the morning, reach to your telephone, and see that you made X amount of dollars while you were sleeping, and it’s all easily available for you to spend. The caveat to this is Stripe. If your customers pays by card using Stripe, there will be a three day hold until the cash is available. That is Stripe however — Payhip does not hold your cash at all.
No Monthly Fees
Among those things that Payhip originally sold me is that there’s no Monthly charges or installation charges — only a simple flat fee of 5 percent per purchase .
This was appealing to me in 2016 Since, at the time, my readership was 1/10th of what it is now, and that I wasn’t positive I was likely to always sell enough product to justify paying a monthly fee for a similar service such as Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger with a little crowd, Payhip was the quickest solution that best match my situation.
Simple To Understand Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an analytics page That enables you to view trades and earnings amounts relative to the day, month, week, year, or any other specified range. On top of that, it is a to-the-point and really straightforward report.
If you’ve ever used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of data you’re instantly smacked in the face with can be a bit overwhelming, and lots of it is mostly useless too. Payhip just provides you what you’re there to see — revenue information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip experience is Promotions to run by creating coupon codes.
The codes may be Like and for any (or all) products. They could run for whatever length you want (or even permanently,) and the code itself can even be customized to whatever series of text you would like.
I have found this to be somewhat useful. Occasionally I’ll conduct a weekend marketing, place it on Facebook, then raise the article targeting a pixel audience that is re-marketing and I don’t fail to go ROI positive by it. People truly do respond well to limited time offers. Selling Platform
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip Provides you the capability to let your Readers sign up as an affiliate of your store, and you are able to award them a commission of whatever percent you’d like, whenever someone purchases a product using their customized affiliate link.
This is useful since it allows Men and Women To sell your products for you, the commissions paid will be well worthwhile and should they have a platform and an audience of their own they can tap to.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You’ll be, if you’re into email advertising Able to incorporate Payhip with your email advertising provider that is chosen so that a purchase is made, the email address of the purchaser could be added to a listing.
This is relatively small but I think it’s Pretty cool so I wish to give it a mention — if you desire, you’ll have Payhip postage the purchaser’s email address to the upper left corner of every page of a PDF document they’ve purchased.
So if someone intends to Purchase Your PDF Publication make it publicly available for free they will have to be okay with their private email address being publicly accessible also. I think that is a way of deterring pirating.
Upload Most Sorts of Files
Payhip isn’t Only a market for ebooks — You can upload any kind of file. Font documents, video/audio files, photos, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
1 thing that can’t be overlooked whenever You are selling something is the way present your site appears. People do not trust myself included. If a website looks like it has not been updated since the web 2.0 times, then I begin to wonder if perhaps I’m in an abandoned construction and putting my payment information into it would pretty much be like throwing my money into a black hole.
That is not true with Payhip though. The Website has a layout that is easy and very contemporary. This is exactly what you would anticipate a checkout page by a trusted business if you were to buy a merchandise on the internet. Selling Platform
Another thing that I like about Payhip is its own Overall simplicity. In the a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip remains out of the way. They display your graphics, sales copy, and only the critical information (like price.) They do nothing to interfere with your purchase — no.
Finally, what I really like about Payhip is That customer payment information isn’t stored by them, meaning your clients’ payment details are safe. The payment is handled through Stripe or PayPal, and I prefer it that way because they are successful companies with lots of money.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I enjoy Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some things that I dislike about the ceremony and would like to see enhanced…
No Mobile App
1 thing that bugs me around Payhip is that They do not possess a program. It’d be convenient to have the ability to start an app while I’m out and around, and have a look through my sales data. The site isn’t optimized for mobile devices, although you do this and can log into the site.
I like Payhip, but this is a very Bad appearance in 2018. There’s no reason you should not have a website optimized for mobile, and when you have that, you ought to be able to easily turn the website itself right into it’s own program so users do not need to manually sign in every time they would like to check sales information. Users of Payhip experience a platform when they’re on their devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d really like to see an capability that is added to indicate Other products. If they are buying a bundle of templates for $5, then I propose some other product which could interest them that they didn’t know about, or could provide a bundle of business card templates for a couple of dollars. This is something that sites like Amazon and VistaPrint do.
I can’t help but feel as though there’s a Great Deal of money being left on the Table — for both myself and Payhip — without this operation. This could improve the Payhip experience for both the seller and the client.
Set On A Fixed Timezone
This one is largely frivolous, but I had still Prefer to see it corrected.
Since Payhip is located at London, they’ve BST was place to by The functioning timezone for the site. Since I am located in the EST, I’ll occasionally check my stats at 7PM or afterwards and see that I left 0 sales for the day because Payhip thinks it is midnight and its own data reveals that.
Again, this is mostly a non-issue, but I Would love to observe the ability to adjust the site to your timezone. Selling Platform
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the coupon Code feature earlier, but it is not quite perfect yet.
As it currently stands, the advertising You can run through a voucher code. I’d like to have the ability to offer a dollar amount from the cost, or the capability to set a sale price that is predetermined.
Right Now, if I Need to put a product that is $27 On sale for $10, I must break out the calculator and manually do the math to figure out what percentage off would leave the cost at $10. I believe this is unnecessary and could be improved.
When creating A new product in Payhip, you also have access to innovative options including —
- Make your product personal.
- Add an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) to your eBook.
- Upload sample pages or a preview.
- To how many copies of eBook or your product could be add a limitation amount sold.
- Create a license key that is exceptional .
How much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you to establish or even host your digital products. The site takes just 5 percent commission per trade fee.
Can I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after 2years as a seller on Payhip, do you recommend it? Overall, yes. I am very much a client, but whether you ought to use it depends on your own situation.
If you are a new blogger with a small audience And you can not justify spending $10+ per month to get something like Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. However, in case you know you’ll do at least $ 1,000 in sales each month and market a product that is high-ticket or have a huge audience, you might want to check into something.
As of the date of this writing, Payhip works On a flat fee of 5% of each sale. Gumroad’s fee is currently 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 a month.
If you’re going to be selling $1,000 a month in total volume, the math should (in most cases) prefer Payhip. But if you’re selling into the thousands, you need to decide on Gumroad or start looking into another choice. That is all dependent on how many transactions it takes to achieve those sales numbers so be sure that you crunch the numbers.
Personally, I love the Payhip Expertise and am grateful for their solutions. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. Selling Platform
