Of all the ways of monetizing blog Articles, my Strategy is To make and sell electronic products. I’ve found that it’s extraordinarily rewarding than running advertisements from networks like AdSense, and products convert at a much greater rate compared to an affiliate product that someone else created. The support I use to facilitate this can be Payhip, and in this article I’ll be discussing what I like and dislike about the service based in my Payhip experience for a seller for 2+ years. Sendowl
My Payhip Expertise
If you wanted to market products Through your own site, you’ll want a way to facilitate transactions — some sort of infrastructure which will enable a client to select your product, pay for it, and also have it instantaneously delivered to them with complete hands-off automation. Payhip solves this problem.
Payhip is An that provides users with the easiest tools and solutions for selling products straight to their customers and hosting online.
The company Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is now based in my capital city of London.
What are the advantages of using Payhip?
Each online Platform is different, and I’ve used a few of them in the past.
For me personally, having A stage that is so simple to use and one that does not take a huge amount of my time that is valuable is of paramount significance.
Payhip will Save a great deal of time too because everything is taken care of on the Payhip platform.
The Benefits that I’ve gained the most from utilizing Payhip comprise –
- EU VAT is taken care of, and it can be a huge plus in my book.
- Affordable. The site takes zero charges asides From 5% per transaction when you sell a digital item.
- Accessibility to analytics reports.
- Access to advertising tools. You have the option to make Societal and coupons discounts.
- Capability to signup, manage and reward your affiliates.
- Access to merchandise sharing tools. Plus you can embed Purchase and your product Now buttons on blog or your website.

What I Like About Payhip
Let’s get to the details. Following my two year Payhip experience, here’s what I really like about the ceremony…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let’s your customers pay with PayPal Or from credit/debit card using Stripe, and they don’t cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or force you to wait around for them to clear some kind of holding period. When a customer makes a purchase, the money is instantly available in your account, and if you’ve got the PayPal and Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you are going to receive notifications each time a sale happens. Sendowl
I happen to love this. The excitement of Seeing a sale that is new never gets older. It’s also great to awake in the morning, reach to your telephone, and see that you made X amount of dollars while you were sleeping, and it is all readily available for you to spend. The only caveat to this is Stripe. If your clients pays by card with Stripe, there’ll be a 3 day hold until the cash is available. This is Stripe though — Payhip doesn’t hold your cash in any way.
No Monthly Fees
Among the things that Payhip initially sold me on is that there’s no Monthly charges or installation charges — just a simple flat fee of 5% per sale.
This was attractive to me back Since, at the moment, my readership was less than 1/10th of what it’s now, and that I was not positive I was likely to consistently sell enough product to warrant paying a monthly fee for a similar service such as Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger having a small crowd, Payhip was the quickest solution that best fit my situation.
Simple To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end offers an analytics page That lets you view transactions and earnings amounts relative to this day, week, month, year, or some other given range. On top of that, it’s a really simple and to-the-point report.
If you’ve ever used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of information you’re immediately smacked in the face with can be somewhat overwhelming, and a lot of it’s mostly useless also. Payhip just gives you what you are there to view — sales information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip encounter is Promotions to conduct by producing coupon codes.
The codes may be Enjoy and for any (or all) products. They could run for any duration you want (or even indefinitely,) along with the code itself can even be customized to whatever string of text you desire.
I have found this to be very useful. Occasionally I’ll run a weekend promotion, place it on Facebook, then raise the post targeting a pixel audience that is re-marketing and I don’t fail to go ROI positive by it. People truly do respond well to limited time offers. Sendowl
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip gives you the capability to let your Readers sign up as an affiliate of your shop, and you can grant, someone buys a product with their custom affiliate link.
This is useful since it allows other Men and Women To market your products the commissions paid will be worth it, and should they have a platform and an audience of their own that they can tap into.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You’ll be, if you are into marketing Able to easily incorporate Payhip along with your email marketing provider so that whenever a sale is made, the purchaser’s email address can be added to a chosen listing.
This is small but I think it’s Pretty cool so I wish to give it a reference — if you desire, you’ll have Payhip postage the purchaser’s email address into the top left corner of each page of a PDF document they’ve bought.
So if someone intends to Purchase Your PDF Publication then make it available for free they’ll need to be okay with their private email address being publicly accessible. I think that is a creative means of deterring pirating.
Upload Many Kinds of Files
Payhip is a market for ebooks — You can upload virtually any sort of file. Font files, video/audio documents, photos, software, etc..
Overall Simplicity and Modern Design
One thing that can’t be overlooked whenever You’re selling something is the way current your website appears. Individuals do not trust sites that appear outdated, myself included. If a website looks like it hasn’t been upgraded because the net 2.0 days, I begin to wonder if perhaps I’m in an abandoned construction and placing my payment information into it would pretty much be just like throwing my money into a black hole.
That is not true with Payhip though. The Site has a design that is very contemporary and easy. This is exactly what you would anticipate a checkout page by a trustworthy business, In the event that you were to buy a product on the world wide web. Sendowl
Another thing that I like about Payhip is its own Overall simplicity. In the a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip remains out of the way. They display your images, sales copy, and just the critical info (such as price.) They do absolutely nothing to interfere with your purchase — no.
Eventually, what I actually enjoy about Payhip is That customer payment info isn’t stored by them, meaning your clients’ payment details are secure. The payment is totally managed through Stripe or PayPal, and I prefer it this way as they’re large companies with lots of cash to spend on top-shelf security.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I enjoy Payhip, it is far from perfect. Here are some things that I dislike about the service and would like to see improved…
No Mobile App
One thing that bugs me about Payhip is that They do not have a app. It would be convenient to be able to start an app while I’m out and about, and take a look through my earnings data. The website is optimized for mobile devices, although you may log in to the site and do this.
I like Payhip, but this is a very Bad appearance in 2018. There’s no reason you shouldn’t have a website optimized for cellular, and when you’ve got that, you ought to be able to easily turn the site itself into it’s own app so users do not have to manually sign in each time they want to inspect sales data. Permit users of Payhip experience a platform when they are on their mobile devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons At Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d really like to see an ability to indicate Other products. If they’re buying a package of templates for $5, then I suggest, or might offer a bundle of business card templates for a couple of dollars. This is something which sites like VistaPrint and Amazon do well.
I can’t help but feel as though there is a lot of money Table — for myself and Payhip — without this operation. This could enhance the Payhip experience for both the vendor and the client.
Establish On A Fixed Timezone
This one is largely frivolous, but I had still Prefer to see it corrected.
Since Payhip is located at London, they have BST was set to by The functioning timezone for the whole site. Since I’m located in the EST, I’ll occasionally check my analytics at 7PM or later and see that I left 0 sales for the day since Payhip believes it is midnight and its own information reflects that.
This is a non-issue, but I Would love to see that the capability to correct the website. Sendowl
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the voucher It’s not quite perfect, although Code attribute earlier.
As it currently stands, the only advertising You’re able to run through a coupon code is to get a percentage off. Ideally, I’d like to be able to supply a dollar amount from the initial price, or the ability to set a sale price.
Right Now, if I Need to put a merchandise that is $27 Available for $10, manually do the math to figure out what percent off will leave the last cost and I must break out the calculator. I believe that is unnecessary and may be improved.
When creating A new product in Payhip, you also have access to advanced alternatives including —
- Make your merchandise personal.
- Add an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) to your eBook.
- Publish sample pages or a preview.
- To how many copies of your product or eBook could be, add a limitation number sold.
- Create a license key .
How much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you or host your digital products. The site takes only 5% commission per trade fee.
Would I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after 2years as a vendor on Payhip, do you recommend it? Total, yes. I am a satisfied client, but whether or not you should use it depends on your situation.
If you are a new blogger with a small audience And you can not justify spending $10+ per month to get something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. But in case you know you’ll be doing at least $ 1,000 in sales each month and market a high-ticket merchandise or have a huge audience, you may want to check into something most cost effective.
As of the date of the writing, Payhip functions On a flat fee of 5 percent of every sale. Gumroad’s fee is now 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 a month.
If you’re going to be selling less than $1,000 per month in total quantity, the math should (in most cases) favor Payhip. But if you’re selling into the thousands, you are probably going to need to go with Gumroad or start looking into another choice. This is dependent on how many transactions it requires to achieve those sales numbers, however, so make sure that you crunch the numbers for yourself.
Personally, I love the Payhip Expertise and am grateful for their services. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. Sendowl
