Intro Shopify Downloadable Products
Of all the ways of Creating Articles that is blog, my method is To make and sell products such as studying design templates and materials. I have found that it is extraordinarily more profitable than running advertisements and self-made products convert at a much higher rate compared to an affiliate product that somebody else created. The service I use to ease this is Payhip, and in this post I will be discussing what I like and dislike about the ceremony based on my Payhip experience for a vendor for two + years. My Payhip Experience
If you’ve ever wanted to sell digital products Through your own site, you are going to need a way to facilitate trades — some kind of infrastructure that will allow a customer to select your goods, pay for it, and also have it instantaneously delivered to them with complete hands-off automation. Payhip solves this issue.
Payhip is An e-commerce platform/website that gives customers with the tools and options for hosting and selling digital products to their clients online.
The company Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is currently based in my capital city of London.
What are the advantages of using Payhip?
Each online Platform differs, and I’ve used a few of them in the past.
Having A platform that is easy to use and one that doesn’t take a huge amount of my time that is valuable is of utmost importance.
Payhip will Save a great deal of time because everything is cared for on the Payhip platform.
The Benefits that I’ve gained the most from using Payhip include –
- EU VAT is taken care of, which is a big plus in my book.
- Affordable. The site takes zero charges asides From 5 percent per trade when you sell a product.
- Accessibility to analytics accounts.

What I Enjoy About Payhip
Let’s get to the details. After my two + year Payhip experience, Here Is What I love about the service…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let’s your customers pay with PayPal Or from credit/debit card with Stripe, and they don’t cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or make you wait for them to clear some kind of holding period. When a customer makes a purchase, the cash is immediately available in your accounts, and if you have the PayPal and also Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you are going to receive notifications each time a sale happens. I happen to appreciate this. The excitement of Seeing a sale never gets older. In addition, it is great to wake up in the morning, reach for your telephone, and also see you made X number of dollars while you’re sleeping, and it’s all readily available for you to spend. The only caveat to this is Stripe. If your clients pays by card with Stripe, there will be a three day hold before the money is available. That is Stripe however — Payhip doesn’t hold your money at all.
No Monthly Charges
One of the things that Payhip originally sold me on is that there’s no Monthly fees or setup charges — just a simple flat charge of 5 percent per purchase .
This was appealing to me back Since, at the time, my readership was 1/10th of what it’s now, and I was not positive that I was going to always sell enough product to warrant paying a monthly fee for a similar service such as Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger having a small audience, Payhip was the quickest solution that best match my scenario.
Easy To Understand Analytics
Payhip’s back end offers an page That lets you see trades and earnings quantities relative to the day, week, month, year, or any other given selection. On top of that, it is a report that is to-the-point and simple.
If you’ve ever used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of data you are instantly smacked in the face with can be somewhat overwhelming, and lots of it is mostly useless also. Payhip just gives you what you’re there to see — revenue information. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip experience is Promotions to run by producing coupon codes.
The codes may be for almost any percentage you’d Like and for any (or all) products. They can run for any duration you’d like (or even indefinitely,) along with the code itself can even be customized to whatever string of text you would like.
I have found this to be very helpful. Occasionally I’ll run a weekend marketing, post it on Facebook, then boost the post targeting a pixel audience that is re-marketing and I don’t fail to go ROI positive with it. People really do respond to limited time offers. Shopify Downloadable Products
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip gives you the ability Readers sign up as an affiliate of your store, and you are able to grant, someone purchases a product using their customized affiliate link.
This is useful since it allows other Men and Women To sell your products for you, and if they have a platform and an audience of their own that they can tap to, the commissions paid will be worthwhile.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You will be, if you are into email advertising Able to readily integrate Payhip with your email advertising supplier that is chosen so that a sale is made, the email address of the purchaser could be added into a chosen list.
This is relatively minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I want to give it a mention — if you desire, you can have Payhip stamp the purchaser’s email address to the top left corner of each page of a PDF document they’ve bought.
So if someone intends to Purchase Your PDF Publication subsequently make it publicly accessible for free somewhere else, they’ll have to be fine with their personal email address being publicly available. I believe that’s a way of deterring pirating.
Upload Most Kinds of Files
Payhip isn’t Only a market for ebooks — You can upload just about any sort of file. Font documents, video/audio files, photographs, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
1 thing that can’t be overlooked whenever You are selling something is how current your website looks. People generally do not trust sites that appear obsolete, myself included. If a website looks like it hasn’t been upgraded since the net 2.0 times, then I start to wonder if perhaps I am in an abandoned building and putting my payment information to it’d pretty much be like throwing my money into a black hole.
That’s not the case with Payhip though. The Site has a simple and very contemporary layout. If you should buy a digital product on the world wide web, this is exactly what you’d anticipate a checkout page from a trusted business. Shopify Downloadable Products
Another thing I enjoy about Payhip is its In general simplicity. From the moment a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip remains out of the way. They display your graphics, sales copy, and only the critical information (such as price.) They do nothing to interfere with your purchase — no.
Finally, what I really like about Payhip is That they don’t store customer payment information, meaning that your clients’ payment details are secure. The payment is handled through PayPal or Stripe, and I prefer it that way as they’re large, successful companies with lots of cash to invest on top-shelf security.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I enjoy Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some items that I dislike about the service and would like to see improved…
No Mobile App
1 thing that bugs me around Payhip is that They don’t have a program. It’d be convenient to be able to start an app and take a look while I am out and around. You can log in to the site and do so, but the site isn’t even optimized for mobile devices.
I like Payhip, but that is a really Bad look in 2018. There’s no reason you should not have a website optimized for cellular, and once you have that, you ought to be able to easily turn the website itself right into it’s own app so users do not need to manually register in each time they want to check sales information. Let users of Payhip experience a platform when they’re on their devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I’d like to see an ability to indicate Other products similar to what the client is going to buy. If they are buying a package of templates for $5, I propose some other similar product which may interest them they didn’t know about, or might provide a package of business card templates to get a few dollars. This is something which sites like Amazon and VistaPrint do well.
I can not help but feel as though there is a Great Deal of money being left on the Table — for both myself and Payhip — without this operation. This may improve the Payhip encounter for both the vendor and the client.
Set On A Fixed Timezone
This one is largely frivolous, but I Like to see it corrected.
Considering that Payhip is located in London, they have BST was place to by The functioning timezone for the site. Since I am located in the EST, I will sometimes check my stats at 7PM or later and see that I made 0 sales for the day since Payhip thinks it’s midnight and its own data reflects that.
Again, this is mostly a non-issue, however I Would love to see the ability to correct the website. Shopify Downloadable Products
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the voucher Code feature earlier, but it’s not perfect yet.
As it now stands, the advertising You’re able to run through a coupon code. Ideally, I’d like to be able to supply a dollar amount from the cost, or the ability to set a specified sale price.
At the moment, if I want to place a product On sale for $10, do the math to determine what percent off would render the last cost and I must break out the calculator. I believe this is unnecessary and could be made better.
When creating A brand new product in Payhip, you also have access to advanced alternatives including —
- Make your product personal.
- Add an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) to your eBook.
- Publish sample pages or a couple of preview.
- Add a limitation number sold.
- Create a license key for all your product/eBook sales.
Just how much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you nothing or host your products. The website takes only 5 percent commission per trade fee.
Can I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after two + years as a vendor on Payhip, would you recommend it? Overall, yes. I am very much a happy client, but whether or not you should use it depends upon your situation.
If you are a blogger with a small audience And you can’t justify spending $10+ per month for something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. However, in case you sell a merchandise that is high-ticket or have a massive audience and know that you’ll do at least $ 1,000 in sales every month, you may want to look into something most cost effective.
As of the date of the writing, Payhip functions On a set fee of 5% of every sale. Gumroad’s fee is now 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 a month.
If you’re going to be selling $1,000 per month in total volume, the mathematics should (in most cases) prefer Payhip. But if you’re selling into the thousands, you’ll probably need to decide on Gumroad or look into some other alternative. That is dependent on the number of transactions it takes to reach those sales numbers though, so be sure that you crunch the numbers for yourself.
Personally, I love the Payhip Expertise and am really grateful for their services. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. Shopify Downloadable Products
