Of All of the ways of Creating content, my method is Such as studying materials and design templates to make and sell products. I’ve discovered that it is extraordinarily more rewarding than running advertisements from networks such as AdSense, and products convert at a significantly greater rate compared to an affiliate product that someone else created. The support I use to facilitate this can be Payhip, and in this post I’ll be sharing what I both like and dislike about the ceremony based in my Payhip experience as a seller for 2+ years. Shopkeeper
My Payhip Experience
If you have ever wanted to sell products Through your own site, you’ll want a way to facilitate transactions — some kind of infrastructure that will allow a client to select your product, pay for it, and also have it instantaneously delivered to them with complete hands-off automation. Payhip solves this problem.
What is Payhip?
Payhip is An that provides users with the tools and options for hosting and selling products directly to their clients online.
The Provider Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is currently based in my capital city of London.
What are the benefits of utilizing Payhip?
Each online Platform differs, and I’ve used a few of these previously.
Having A platform that is easy to use and one that does not take a huge amount of my time is of paramount significance.
Payhip will Save a lot of time too because everything is cared for on the Payhip platform.
The Advantages that I’ve gained the most from using Payhip include –
- EU VAT is cared for, which is a big plus in my book.
- Affordable. The site takes zero fees asides From 5% per trade when you sell a item that is digital.
- Access to analytics accounts.
- Access to advertising tools. You have the option to make Social and coupons discounts.
- Ability to signup, manage and reward your own affiliates.
- Access to merchandise sharing tools. Plus it is possible to embed Your merchandise and Buy Now buttons right on your own website or blog.
- The ability to setup mailing lists so that your customers can Subscribe and remain up to date with your digital goods, and more.
- Immediate digital product delivery via email link for customers.
What I Like About Payhip
Let’s get to the details. Following my two year Payhip expertise, Here Is What I love about the ceremony…
Payments Are Instantaneous
Payhip let’s your customers pay with PayPal Or by credit/debit card using Stripe, plus they don’t cover monthly/weekly/quarterly or force you to wait around for them to clear some sort of holding period. When a client makes a purchase, the money is immediately available in your account, and in case you’ve got the PayPal and also Stripe apps installed on your mobile device, you’ll get notifications whenever a sale happens. Shopkeeper
I happen to love this. The excitement of Seeing a sale never gets old. It’s also great to awake in the morning, reach to your telephone, and see that you made X number of dollars while you’re sleeping, and it is all readily available for you to spend. The caveat to this can be Stripe. If your customers card with Stripe, there will be a three day hold until the money is available. This is all Stripe however — Payhip doesn’t hold your cash in any way.
No Monthly Fees
One of those things that Payhip originally sold me is that there’s no Monthly charges or installation charges — only a simple flat charge of 5% per purchase .
This was attractive to me Since, at the time, my readership was 1/10th of what it’s now, and I was not positive I was likely to always sell enough product to justify paying a monthly fee to get a similar service like Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger with a little crowd, Payhip was the quickest solution that best match my scenario.
Simple To Understand Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an analytics page That lets you view transactions and earnings quantities relative to the day, week, month, year, or any other given range. On top of that, it is a to-the-point and really simple report.
If you have ever used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the amount of data you are instantly smacked in the face with can be somewhat overwhelming, and a lot of it is mostly useless also. Payhip just gives you what you are there to see — revenue data. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another advantage users of Payhip experience is Promotions to conduct by creating coupon codes.
The codes may be Like and for any (or all) products. They could run for any length you want (or even indefinitely,) along with the code itself can even be customized to whatever series of text you would like.
I have found this to be somewhat useful. Occasionally I’ll conduct a weekend promotion, post it on Facebook, then boost the post targeting a pixel re-marketing audience and I never fail to go ROI positive by it. People truly do respond to limited time offers. Shopkeeper
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip gives you the capability to let your Readers register as an affiliate of your shop, and you can grant them a commission of whatever percent you’d like if someone purchases a product using their customized affiliate link.
This is useful since it allows other Men and Women To sell your merchandise for you, the commissions paid will be worth it and if they have a stage and an audience of their own they can tap into.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
If you’re into advertising, you will be Able to easily integrate Payhip along with your email marketing supplier that is preferred so that whenever a sale is made, the purchaser’s email address can be added to a list that is selected.
That is relatively minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I wish to give it a reference — if you so desire, you’ll have Payhip stamp the buyer’s email address to the top left corner of every page of a PDF document they have bought.
So if someone plans to Purchase Your PDF Book make it publicly available for free somewhere else, they will need to be okay with their private email address being available also. I believe that is a way of deterring pirating.
Upload Many Sorts of Files
Payhip is not just a marketplace for ebooks — It’s possible to upload just about any kind of digital file. Font files, video/audio documents, photos, software, etc..
Total Simplicity and Modern Design
1 thing that can not be overlooked whenever You are selling something is your site looks. People generally do not trust myself included. If a site looks like it has not been updated because the net 2.0 times, then I begin to wonder if maybe I am in an abandoned building and placing my payment information to it would pretty much be like throwing my money into a black hole.
That’s not true with Payhip though. The Website has a easy and very modern design. In the event that you should buy a digital product on the internet, this is what you would expect a checkout page from a business to look like. Shopkeeper
Another thing I enjoy about Payhip is its Overall simplicity. In the very moment a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip remains out of the way. They display your images, sales copy, and only the crucial info (like price.) They do nothing to interfere with your purchase — no self-promotion whatsoever.
Finally, what I really like about Payhip is That they do not store customer payment information, meaning your customers’ payment details are safe. The payment is handled through PayPal or Stripe, and I prefer it that way because they are big companies with a lot of cash to spend on security.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I like Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some things that I dislike about the service and would like to see enhanced…
No Mobile App
One thing that bugs me about Payhip is that They do not have a mobile program. It would be convenient to have the ability to open an app while I’m out and about, and take a look during my sales data. The site isn’t optimized for mobile devices, although you can log into the site and do so.
I like Payhip, but this is a very Lousy appearance in 2018. There’s no reason you shouldn’t have a website optimized for cellular, and once you’ve got that, you ought to be able to easily turn the site itself into it’s own program so users don’t have to manually sign in each time they would like to check sales information. Users of Payhip experience a platform when they are on their devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons In Checkout
On the checkout page, I would like to see an added capability to suggest Other products similar to what the client is going to buy. For example, if they’re purchasing a bundle of templates for $5, then I propose some other product which could interest them that they previously didn’t know about, or might offer a package of business card templates to get a couple of dollars. This is something which websites like Amazon and VistaPrint do quite well.
I can’t help but feel as though there’s a Great Deal of money being left on the Table — for myself and Payhip — with no functionality. This could enhance the Payhip experience for both the vendor and the client.
Establish On A Fixed Timezone
This one is mostly frivolous, but I Prefer to see it fixed.
Considering that Payhip is located in London, they’ve BST was place to by The functioning timezone for the whole site. Since I am found in the EST, I’ll occasionally check my analytics at 7PM or later and see that I made 0 sales for the day since Payhip thinks it is midnight and its own information reflects that.
Again, this is largely a non-issue, however I Would love to see the ability to adjust the website. Shopkeeper
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the coupon It’s not perfect, although Code attribute earlier.
As it currently stands, the only promotion You can run through a coupon code is for a percentage off. Ideally, I’d love to be able to supply a dollar amount to set a sale price that is specified.
Right Now, if I Need to put a product that is $27 On sale for $10, manually do the math to determine what percentage off would leave the cost and I must break out the calculator. I believe that is unnecessary and may be made better.
When creating A new product in Payhip, you also have access to advanced options including —
- Make your merchandise personal.
- Insert an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) for your eBook.
- Publish a few sample or preview pages.
- Insert a limit amount sold.
- Generate a license key that is exceptional for each of your product/eBook revenue.
How much does it cost?
Payhip will Cost you nothing to set up or even host your electronic products. The site takes just 5 percent commission per transaction fee.
Would I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after two + years as a vendor on Payhip, would you recommend it? Total, yes. I am a happy customer, but whether you should use it depends upon your situation.
If you’re a new blogger with a small audience And you can’t justify spending $10+ a month for something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. If you know you’ll be doing at least $ 1,000 in sales every month and sell a product that is high-ticket or have a huge audience, you may want to check into something most cost-efficient.
As of this date of the writing, Payhip functions On a set fee of 5% of every sale. Gumroad’s fee is now 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 per month.
If you’re going to be selling $1,000 per month in total quantity, the mathematics should (typically ) favor Payhip. But if you are selling into the thousands, you want to decide on Gumroad or look into another choice. This is all dependent on how many transactions it requires to achieve those sales numbers, however, so make sure that you crunch the numbers.
Personally, I absolutely love the Payhip Experience and am grateful for their services. I want to see them continue to grow and succeed. Shopkeeper
