Background Upload And Sell
Of all the ways of monetizing blog content, my method is Such as learning materials and layout templates to make and sell electronic products. I have found that it’s extraordinarily profitable than running advertisements from networks such as AdSense, and self-made products convert at a much higher speed than an affiliate product that somebody else created. The service I use to facilitate this can be Payhip, and this article I’ll be sharing what I both like and dislike about the ceremony based in my Payhip experience for a vendor for two + years. My Payhip Expertise
If you wanted to sell digital products Through your own website, you’ll need a means to facilitate transactions — some sort of infrastructure which will enable a client to select your goods, cover it, and also have it immediately delivered to them with whole hands-off automation. Payhip solves this problem.
Payhip is An e-commerce platform/website that gives customers with solutions and the easiest tools for promoting electronic products to their clients and hosting online.
The company Was co-founded by Abs Farah and Kahin Farah and is currently based in my capital city of London.
Which are the benefits of using Payhip?
Each online Platform differs, and I have used a couple of them in the past.
For me personally, having A platform that is so easy to use and one that does not take a huge amount of my time is of paramount importance.
Payhip will Save a lot of time because everything is taken care of on the Payhip platform.
The Benefits that I’ve gained the most from utilizing Payhip comprise –
- EU VAT is cared for, which is a big plus in my book.
- Affordable. The website takes zero fees asides From 5% per transaction when you sell a item.
- Accessibility to analytics accounts.
- Access to marketing tools. You have the option to create Social and Coupons discounts.
- Ability to signup, handle and reward your affiliates.

What I Enjoy About Payhip
Let’s get to the information. After my 2 year Payhip experience, Here Is What I love about the ceremony…
Upgrades Are Instantaneous
Payhip let’s your customers pay with PayPal Or from credit/debit card using Stripe, plus they do not pay out monthly/weekly/quarterly or force you to wait around for them to clean some sort of holding period. When a client makes a purchase, the cash is immediately available in your accounts, and if you have the PayPal and also Stripe programs installed on your mobile device, you are going to receive notifications each time a sale happens. Upload And Sell
I happen to love this. The excitement of Seeing a sale never gets old. In addition, it is good to awake in the morning, reach to your phone, and see you made X amount of dollars while you were sleeping, and it is all easily available for you to spend. The only caveat to this can be Stripe. If your clients pays by card using Stripe, there’ll be a 3 day hold before the money is available. This is Stripe however — Payhip doesn’t hold your cash in any way.
No Monthly Fees
One of those things that Payhip initially sold me on is that there’s no Monthly charges or installation charges — only a simple flat charge of 5 percent per sale.
This was attractive to me back in 2016 Because, at the time, my readership was less than 1/10th of what it is now, and I was not positive that I was going to consistently sell enough product to justify paying a monthly fee for a similar service such as Gumroad. As a relatively new blogger with a small crowd, Payhip was the quickest solution that best match my situation.
Easy To Know Analytics
Payhip’s back end Provides an page That lets you see trades and earnings amounts relative to this day, week, month, year, or any other given selection. Best of all, it is a very straightforward and to-the-point report.
If you’ve ever used Google Analytics or Facebook analytics, the number of information you are instantly smacked in the face can be somewhat overwhelming, and a lot of it is largely useless also. Payhip just gives you what you’re there to see — revenue data. Nothing more, nothing less.
Run Promotions with Coupon Codes
Another benefit users of Payhip experience is Promotions to run by producing coupon codes.
The codes can be Like and for any (or all) products. They can run for whatever duration you’d like (or even permanently,) along with the code itself can even be customized to whatever string of text you would like.
I have found this to be helpful. Occasionally I’ll run a weekend marketing, post it on Facebook, then boost the article targeting a pixel audience that is re-marketing and I never fail to go ROI positive by it. People do respond well to limited time offers. Upload And Sell
Your Own Affiliate Program
Payhip Provides you the capability to let your Readers sign up as an affiliate of your store, and you are able to award whenever someone buys a product using their custom affiliate link.
This is useful since it allows other Men and Women To market your products for you, the commissions paid will be worth it, and if they have a platform and an audience of their own that they can tap to.
Easy Integration with Email Marketing
You will be if you’re into advertising Able to readily integrate Payhip along with your email advertising supplier so that a purchase is made, the email address of the purchaser could be added into a list that is chosen.
That is minor but I think it’s Pretty cool so I want to give it a reference — if you so desire, you’ll have Payhip stamp the purchaser’s email address into the top left corner of every page of a PDF document they have purchased.
So if someone plans to Purchase Your PDF Publication then make it publicly available for free somewhere else, they’ll need to be okay with their personal email address being accessible also. I think that is a creative way of deterring pirating.
Upload Many Kinds of Files
Payhip is not just a marketplace for ebooks — You can upload any sort of file. Font files, video/audio documents, photos, software, etc..
Overall Simplicity and Modern Design
1 thing that can not be overlooked whenever You’re selling something is how present your site appears. People do not trust sites that appear obsolete, myself included. If a site looks like it hasn’t been upgraded because the net 2.0 times, then I start to wonder if perhaps I’m in an abandoned construction and placing my payment info to it would pretty much be just like throwing my money into a black hole.
That is not the case with Payhip though. The Website has a layout. This is what you would anticipate a checkout page from a trustworthy company to look like, if you were to purchase a product on the internet. Upload And Sell
Another thing I enjoy about Payhip is its own In general simplicity. In the a visitor lands on your product page, Payhip remains out of the way. They display your graphics, sales copy, and only the critical information (like price.) They do nothing to interfere with your sale — no self-promotion whatsoever.
Finally, what I like about Payhip is That customer payment information isn’t stored by them, meaning that your clients’ payment details are safe. The payment is handled through PayPal or Stripe, and I prefer it this way because they are successful companies with lots of cash.
What I Dislike About Payhip
As much as I like Payhip, it’s far from perfect. Here are some items that I dislike about the ceremony and would like to see enhanced…
No Mobile App
1 thing that bugs me around Payhip is that They don’t possess a mobile app. It would be convenient to have the ability to start an app while I’m out and around and have a look through my earnings data. The website isn’t even optimized for mobile devices, although you may log into the website and do so.
I enjoy Payhip, but this is a really Lousy appearance in 2018. There’s no reason you should not have a site optimized for cellular, and when you’ve got that, you should be able to easily turn the site itself right into it’s own program so users don’t need to manually register in every time they want to inspect sales data. Let users of Payhip experience a much better platform when they’re on their cellular devices.
No Upsells or Add-Ons At Checkout
On the checkout page, I would like to see an ability to suggest Other products. If they are purchasing a bundle of templates for $5, then I propose some other product which could interest them that they previously didn’t know about, or could offer a package of business card templates for a few added bucks. This is something which sites like Amazon and VistaPrint do very well.
I can not help but feel as though there’s a lot of money Table — for myself and Payhip — with no functionality. This may improve the Payhip experience for both the customer and the seller.
Establish On A Fixed Timezone
This one is mostly frivolous, but I Like to see it fixed.
Since Payhip is located in London, they have BST was set to by The functioning timezone for the site. Since I’m found in the EST, I’ll occasionally check my stats at 7PM or afterwards and see that I left 0 earnings for the day since Payhip thinks it is midnight and its own data reflects that.
Again, this is mostly a non-issue, however I Would love to observe that the capability to adjust the website. Upload And Sell
More Flexibility with Coupon Codes
I know I raved about the coupon It’s not quite perfect yet, although code feature earlier.
As it now stands, the advertising You’re able to run via a coupon code is to get a percent off. Ideally, I’d love to have the ability to supply a dollar amount to set a sale price that is predetermined.
Right Now, if I want to place a merchandise that is $27 On sale for $10, manually do the math to figure out what percentage off would render the cost and I must break out the calculator. I think that is unnecessary and may be improved.
When creating A brand new product in Payhip, you also have access to advanced alternatives which include —
- Make your merchandise private.
- Insert an ISBN (Internation Standard Book Number) for your eBook.
- Upload sample pages or a preview.
- To the number of copies of market or your product could be add a limitation number sold.
- Generate a license key .
How much does this cost?
Payhip will Cost you or host your products. The website takes just 5% commission per transaction fee.
Would I Recommend Payhip?
This leaves us with the burning question: after two + years as a vendor on Payhip, would you recommend it? Overall, yes. I am very much a satisfied customer, but whether you should use it depends upon your own situation.
If you are a new blogger with a small audience And you can not justify spending $10+ a month for something such as Gumroad, then yes, I would recommend Payhip. If you know you’ll do at least $ 1,000 in sales each month and market a merchandise or have a massive audience, you might want to check into something.
As of the date of the writing, Payhip works On a set fee of 5% of each sale. Gumroad’s fee is currently 3.5% + $0.30 per transaction + $10 per month.
If you are going to be selling less than $1,000 per month in total volume, the math should (in most cases) favor Payhip. But if you’re selling into the thousands, you’ll probably want to go with Gumroad or start looking into another choice. That is largely dependent on how many transactions it requires to reach those sales numbers though, so make sure that you crunch the numbers for yourself.
Personally, I love the Payhip Experience and am really grateful for their solutions. I would like to see them continue to grow and succeed. Upload And Sell
